Andrew Johnson is a 41-year old English striker who has spent most of his career playing for Birmingham City and Luton Town. In 1998, Johnson signed with Birmingham City after impressing during a trial period with the club.

He would spend three seasons at the Blues before moving to Luton Town in 2002. At Luton, Johnson enjoyed perhaps his best spell in professional football; he scored 47 goals in 88 appearances over two seasons with the club. 

After leaving Luton, Johnson had short spells at several other clubs including Portsmouth (2004), Derby County (2005) and Fulham (2008).

Since retiring from professional football, Johnson has worked as a coach with Academy teams at both Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion. Andrew Johnson is a former English footballer who played for Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, Everton and Queens Park Rangers. 

Andrew Johnson made his professional debut with Birmingham City in 1998 and went on to make 83 appearances for the club before joining Crystal Palace in 2002.

At Palace he scored 140 goals in 374 appearances which makes him one of the most prolific strikers in English football history. 

He joined Everton in 2006 where he spent two seasons before departing for Fulham following their promotion to the Premier League in 2008. In 2012 he rejoined QPR but left again at the end of that season after just 20 appearances due to injury problems.

After a spell out of action, Johnson signed for Crystal Palace once more but was released at the end of 2014 without making any senior appearances.

Jack Butland is a 29-year-old goalkeeper who currently plays for Manchester United on loan from Crystal Palace. He made his professional debut with Birmingham City in 2010 and has since played for Cheltenham Town (loan), Bristol City, and Manchester United.

Butland was named the Football League's Player of the Year in 2013 after leading Birmingham to promotion to the Premier League that year. 

He made his international debut for England in 2015 and has since captained the team at various tournaments, most notably at the 2018 World Cup where they were runners up.

Clinton Morrison is a forward who has played for Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Exeter City in the English Premier League. Clinton Morrison was born on May 14th, 1979 in Tooting, England.

In 1998, Clinton Morrison joined Crystal Palace as a youth player and made 157 appearances over two spells with the club before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2002 where he would make 61 appearances.

After leaving Spurs, Morrison signed for Exeter City and has since made 80 league appearances playing mainly as a left winger or forward. 

Clinton Morrison is currently contracted to Exeter until 2020 and remains an integral part of their squad having helped them win promotion back to the EPL last season as well as reaching the FA Cup Quarter Finals this year.

Clinton Morrison was born on May 2, 1987 in Birmingham, England. Morrison started his career at Birmingham City as a youth player and made 87 appearances for the club before moving to Crystal Palace in 2005. 

After two seasons with Palace, he moved to Coventry City where he spent one season before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2010. He had loan spells with Milton Keynes Dons (2011), Brentford (2012) and Colchester United (2014-2016).

Morrison signed with Exeter City in 2016 and during his time there helped them win the National League title that year as well as the Football League Trophy in 2017. Clinton Morrison has represented Republic of Ireland U21s twice and is currently playing for Mickleover Sports.

Trevor Francis was a forward who spent most of his career with Birmingham City. He made his senior debut in 1970 and went on to score 118 goals in 280 appearances for the club.

In 1978, he moved to Detroit Express on loan where he scored 22 goals in 19 appearances before returning to Birmingham City the following year. He finished his playing career with Nottingham Forest in 1981, spending two years at the club before retiring from football aged 33.

After retirement, Francis became a coach with several clubs including Aston Villa and Derby County before coaching Wales national team between 2004 and 2006 under Gary Speed and Mark Hughes respectively. 

Trevor Francis has also been involved in television work as a pundit for ITV's coverage of England matches since 2002 alongside former players Alan Shearer and Jamie Redknapp among others.

Auston Trusty is a defender who currently plays for Birmingham City on loan from Arsenal. Auston was born in Media, Pennsylvania, United States and has represented the United States at youth level.

Auston made his professional debut with Bethlehem Steel in 2016 before joining Birmingham City on loan earlier this year. Auston is predominantly a centre-back but can also play as a left-back or holding midfielder if required.

Omar Hanif Bogle is a 29-year-old English striker who currently plays for Newport County. Omar started his career at West Bromwich Albion before moving to Birmingham City in 2009.

He spent two seasons with the Blues, scoring 16 goals in 73 appearances. In 2011, Omar joined Celtic and made an immediate impact, netting 17 times in 43 matches over two years with the Scottish club.

On 1 July 2016, it was announced that Bogle had signed for League One side Newport County on a three-year contract.

Ben Foster is a goalkeeper who has played for clubs in the UK and Stoke City. Foster made his professional debut with Racing Club Warwick in 2000, before going on to Stoke City for two seasons from 2001-03.

In 2005, Foster moved abroad to join West Bromwich Albion where he has since been an important member of their squad. Foster represented England at under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels before making his full international debut in 2006 against Serbia & Montenegro.

The 39 year old was part of the Baggies' Premier League title winning side in 2010/11  and also featured prominently during their run to the Europa League final that same season.

Doyle started his career at Birmingham City before moving to Bradford City in 2015. He is currently the goalkeeper for Bradford City and has made 31 appearances for them so far.

Barry Ferguson was born in Hamilton, Scotland in 1978 and played for Rangers SABC before moving to Rangers FC. Ferguson made 151 appearances for Rangers FC over a period of seven years before moving to Birmingham City in 2003.

Bob Latchford was born in Birmingham, England in 1951. He started his career at Birmingham City in 1967 and went on to play for Everton for a total of 236 appearances.

He is best known for his time at Everton where he was a regular goalscorer. Latchford retired from playing in 1981 and has since worked as a football coach. He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

Roger Hynd was a centre half who played for Liverpool for over 30 years. He was part of their championship-winning team in the 1970-71 season. He also won the UEFA Cup with the club in 1984.

Hynd was a regular member of the Scotland national team, making over 60 appearances. He was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 1970 World Cup. Hynd retired from playing in 1984 and went on to manage Liverpool for two seasons.

Kenny Burns is a Scottish defender and striker who played for Birmingham City and Leeds United in the 1970s. Burns was born in Glasgow in 1953 and played for Glasgow Amateurs before joining Rangers in 1969.

Burns made 137 appearances for Nottingham Forest before moving to Leeds United in 1981. Burns spent two seasons with Leeds before joining Birmingham City in 1984. Burns made 45 appearances for Rangers before retiring in 1977.

Johnson was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland in 1978. He started playing football for Portadown at the age of nine and went on to make over 300 appearances for the club.

Stan Lazaridis is a former Australian footballer who played as a left winger and left back. Lazaridis played for Olympic Kingsway in the Australian National Soccer League (ANSL) and later for English club Leeds United.

Lazaridis was a member of the Australian national team that won the 2000 Olympic gold medal. Lazaridis retired from football in 2005. Lazaridis currently works as a football agent. Lazaridis was nominated for the A-League Most Valuable Player award in 2004.

Lazaridis was named in the A-League All-Star team in 2007 and 2009. Lazaridis was named in the Australian national team for the 2010 World Cup. Lazaridis retired from international football after the World Cup. Stan Lazaridis was born in Melbourne, Australia in December of 1971.

Garry Pendrey is a retired defender who played for Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Pendrey made over 350 appearances in the Football League, and represented England at Under-21 level.

He retired in 1993, after playing for Aston Villa. In later life, Pendrey started a property development company. He was appointed an honorary life president of Birmingham City in 2010. Pendrey was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2011, but recovered and continues to work.

Pendrey is married with two children. He is a Birmingham City supporter. Pendrey was awarded an OBE in the 2010 New Year's Honours. 

Garry Pendrey was a manager at Birmingham City between 1987-1989. He led the club to a 5th-place finish in the league. Pendrey also took the team to the FA Cup semifinal, but they lost to Liverpool.

He was sacked by the club in 1989. After leaving Birmingham City, Pendrey went on to manage Torquay United. He was sacked by Torquay United in 1992. Pendrey then had a spells with Bristol Rovers and Walsall. He retired from coaching in 1997. Pendrey died in 2013 at the age of 73.

Final Words

Birmingham City Football Club is one of the oldest and most historic clubs in English football. Footballers who have played for the club include England internationals Billy Meredith, Alf Ramsey, Ted Drake and Jeff Astle.
