Toni Kroos was born on 4 January 1990 in Greifswald, East Germany. He started his career at Greifswalder SC before moving to Hansa Rostock and then Bayern Munich.

In 2018, he joined Real Madrid and has since become a key player for the club. Toni Kroos is known for his strong passing ability and is considered one of the best midfielders in Europe today.

Tranquillo Barnetta is a Swiss international midfielder who has played for Bayer Leverkusen and St. Gallen in his career. He started out with FC Rotmonten St.

Gallen before moving to Bundesliga side, St. Gallen in 2002. After impressing during the 2002/03 season, he was snapped up by German giants Bayer Leverkusen where he remained until 2012 - winning two DFB-Pokals (German Cup) at the club along the way.

Tranquillo Barnetta featured prominently for Switzerland at various youth levels before making his full international debut in 2006 aged just 21 years old.

Edmond Tapsoba was born on 2 February 1999 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He is a centre-back and has played for Bayer Leverkusen since the summer of 2016.

Tapsoba made his debut for the German club in a 3-1 victory over Hannover 96 on 18 August 2016 and has since established himself as first choice at right-back or centre-back.

In September 2018, Tapsoba scored his first goal for Leverkusen against FC Ingolstadt 04 in a 4-0 victory, becoming the youngest player to score in Bundesliga history at age 20 years and 352 days old.[

apsoba was named man of the match after this performance and continued to be an important part of Leverkusen's defence throughout 2019 as they reached the UEFA Champions League Final where they were defeated by Liverpool 6–7 on aggregate.

At international level, Edmond represented France at under 17 level before making his senior team debut against Gabon in November 2017.

Rudi Völler is a former German footballer who played as a forward. After playing for various clubs in his youth career, he joined Werder Bremen in 1987 and went on to play for Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.

He was part of the Werder Bremen team that won the Bundesliga title in 1990 and reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals two years later.

Patrik Schick is a Czech-born German footballer who currently plays for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. He made his professional debut in the 2014–15 season with Sparta Prague, and was part of their Slovakian Cup-winning side that same year.

Jürgen Gelsdorf is a retired German defender who played for Bayer Leverkusen. He started his career with MSV Duisburg before moving to Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld in 1976.

Christian Schreier is a Germany international who played for several teams during his career. He was born on 4 February 1959 in Castrop-Rauxel and started playing football for local side SV Merklinde in 1977.

After spells with TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus and VfL Bochum, Schreier joined Bayer Leverkusen in 1984. He stayed with the team for thirteen seasons and was a mainstay in their midfield. In 1991, Schreier moved to Germany's second division, Fortuna Düsseldorf.

He spent two seasons with them before returning to the top flight with Rot-Weiss Essen in 1996. Schreier retired from playing in 1998 and later became manager of Wegberg-Beeck.
