Robert Lewandowski is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Barcelona. He began his career with Delta Warsaw, before joining Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2005.

In 2010, he signed for Bayern Munich and helped the team clinch the Bundesliga title that season. After one year at Madrid-based Real Madrid, Lewandowski rejoined Bayern Munich on a long-term deal in 2013.

He has won three consecutive La Liga titles with Barcelona (2014–16), as well as two Champions League crowns (2015 and 2017). 

 Having scored over 250 goals in all competitions during his career, Lewandowski is considered to be one of the best strikers of his generation, and was named by Pelé as one of the 100 greatest living footballers in 2016.

On 6 March 2019, he announced his retirement from professional football due to an injury sustained earlier that month against Atlético Madrid.

Robert Lewandowski is a world-class striker who has scored many goals for clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. He was born in Poland but plays for the German national team, which he helped win the 2014 World Cup.

Joshua Kimmich is a German professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Bayern Munich. He began his career at VfB Bösingen before joining Stuttgart in 2013.

In 2016, he joined RB Leipzig and spent two seasons there before signing with Bayern Munich in 2019. Kimmich has made over 100 appearances for Germany and was part of their squad that won the 2014 World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup.

Known for his athleticism, quickness on the ball, passing range, and tackling ability,[7] he is considered one of the best defenders in Europe.

Christopher Nkunku is a French midfielder who currently plays for RB Leipzig. Nkunku made his first-team debut in the 2015–16 season and has since become an important part of the team, scoring eight goals in 68 appearances.

He represented France at Under-17 and Under-19 level before making his international senior debut in March 2018. Christopher is the son of former professional footballer Papa Bouba Diop and younger brother of defender Younes N'Koulou.

Jamal Musiala is a German attacking midfielder who currently plays for Bayern Munich. He made his first-team debut in the 2013–14 season and has since played over 100 games for the club.

In February 2003, Jamal Musiala was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He began his career with TSV Lehnerz before joining Southampton in 2010 as a youth player. 

At 1.84 m (6 ft 0 inch), Musiala is an imposing midfielder who excels at playing on either wing or up front; he has been compared to former Bayern Munich players Philipp Lahm and Miroslav Klose.

After making his breakthrough into the first team during the 2013–14 season, Jamal Musiala helped lead Bayern to their sixth Bundesliga title in 2016 and their fourth Champions League crown in 2017/18.

Patrik Schick is a Czech-born German footballer who currently plays for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. He made his professional debut in the 2014–15 season with Sparta Prague, and was part of their Slovakian Cup-winning side that same year.

He joined Leverkusen in July 2016, and has since made over 100 appearances for them - scoring 31 goals along the way - including appearing as a substitute in both the 2017 DFB-Pokal Final and UEFA Champions League Final.

Vincenzo Grifo is a German professional footballer who plays as a winger for SC Freiburg. Grifo started his career at CfR Pforzheim, before moving to Germania Brötzingen in 2006.

Dodi Lukebakio is a Belgian-born winger who currently plays for Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga. He made his senior debut with Anderlecht in 2015 and has since played for Wolfsburg, Rennes, Nice, Saint Etienne and Hoffenheim.

His speed and technical ability make him an exciting prospect for any team he joins next season and he will be looking to continue his good form this year with Hertha BSC Dodi Lukebakio is a Belgian footballer who currently plays for Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga.

He has also played for Belgium U21 and DR Congo. Dodi began his career at Anderlecht, where he made over 100 appearances and scored 17 goals between 2015-2018. 

In January 2019, he moved to Watford on loan but returned to Hertha shortly after. Dodi's international career started with Belgium U21s in 2016 and continued until 2020 when he was called up to the senior team for a friendly against Hungary.

He did not make an appearance though due to an injury sustained during training just before the game happened. Despite being injured, Dodi is still eligible for selection by DR Congo national team as they are not part of FIFA or UEFA yet (they joined in February 2022). 

However, there is no confirmation that he will be called up any time soon given their poor form recently including going out of both World Cup qualification rounds early this year.

Dodi Lukebakio's style of play revolves around dribbling past defenders and creating chances through passing; although often criticised for his inconsistency, many attribute this partly to him having been forced into starting roles too quickly at different clubs throughout his career.

Rafał Gikiewicz is a Polish goalkeeper who currently plays for German side FC Augsburg. Gikiewicz started his career at local side Warmia Olsztyn and made 179 appearances before moving to Stomil Olsztyn in 2009.

He played six times for Poland under-21s before making his full international debut against Sweden in November 2011. In May 2013, he signed a three-year contract with Bundesliga club Augsburg which ran until the end of the 2016–17 season.

After featuring regularly for Augsburg during the first half of the 2017–18 campaign, Gikiewicz joined fellow Bundesliga side Hannover 96 on loan until 30 June 2018.

Rafał Gikiewicz started his senior career with DKS Dobre Miasto and played for Sokół Ostróda, Drwęca Nowe Miasto Lubawskie, Wigry Suwałki, Jagiellonia Białystok and Śląsk Wrocław.

Kevin Trapp is a German goalkeeper who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt. He began his career with FC Brotdorf, before moving to SSV Bachem and then 1.

FC Kaiserslautern in 2007. In 2011, he joined Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 on loan for the season, making 21 appearances and helping the club to promotion as champions of 3rd division 2nd league.

He made his full debut for Mainz in their opening match of the 2012/13 season against Hannover 96, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw. On 7 July 2013, it was announced that Trapp had signed a long-term contract extension with Mainz until 2021.

Kevin Trapp has represented Germany at U21 level on several occasions and played at UEFA Euro 2016 where they reached the semi finals but lost to Portugal (1–3).

He also captained Germany's national team during their 2018 World Cup campaign which ended in disappointment after being eliminated from the tournament by Croatia 4–2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in extra time.

Nico Elvedi is a Swiss professional footballer who currently plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has played extensively in the Bundesliga, and represented Switzerland at UEFA Euro 2020.

Born on 30 September 1996 in Zürich, Nico started his career with FC Sion before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2016. 

A versatile defender, Nico can play centre back or right back, making him an important part of Gladbach's squad as they aim to return to the top tier of German football after being relegated last season.

Having made over 100 appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach across all competitions since joining them from FC Sion, Nico looks set to be a key player for club and country this season Nico Elvedi is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Borussia Mönchengladbach. 

He has played for several clubs in his homeland, Switzerland and Germany, before signing with Bundesliga side Gladbach in 2013.

In total, he has made 211 appearances and scored 11 goals during his senior career. A regular member of the Switzerland national team since 2012, he has represented them at youth level before making his full international debut in 2016. 

Having spent most of his time playing out wide or up front earlier in his career, Elvedi now typically operates centrally for Gladbach and is often deployed as an attacking midfielder or second striker behind main striker Robert Lewandowski.

He was born on 8 May 1990 in Lugano , Italy to Swiss parents but grew up in Zürich where he started playing football professionally at FC Greifensee aged 16 years old.

Niclas Füllkrug is a forward who currently plays for Werder Bremen. He joined the club in 2017 from SC Freiburg. Füllkrug has played youth football with TuS Ricklingen and Sportfreunde Ricklingen before joining SC Freiburg in 2015.

In total, he made 111 appearances for his previous clubs, scoring 36 goals along the way including 15 during his time at SC Freiburg which saw him win the Bundesliga championship in 2016-17 as well as DFB Pokal and UEFA Europa League titles later that season.

Making him one of only four players to ever win all three major European trophies with different clubs (the others being Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer).

A Germany international since U16 level, he made his senior debut against Malta on 10 November 2012 coming on as a substitute in the 81st minute; going onto make 2 further appearances.

Before retiring from international duty following their victory over Sweden at Euro 2016 earlier this year where they reached thir semi-finals despite losing 1-0 to Portugal courtesy of an Alexandre Lacazette goal.

After extra time (Lacazette would go onto score twice more en route to winning the Golden Boot). 

With 31 league goals across two seasons combined between SC Freiburg and Werder Bremen prior to joining them permanently last summer - contributing significantly both domestically & continentally.

It's safe to say that Niclas is already proving himself as one of Europe’s most lethal forwards ahead of next season.

Marcel Sabitzer is a talented midfielder who currently plays for Bayern Munich. He started his career at Austrian side Grazer AK before moving to German club Admira Wacker in 2009.

In 2010, he completed a move to Austria's top division side Austria Wien and stayed with the club until 2014. Sabitzer then signed for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in July 2014 and has since made over 100 appearances for the Bavarians.

He is highly-rated within Germany and is seen as one of the country's most promising young midfielders. His performances have caught the eye of European clubs, with reports suggesting that he could be on his way out of Bavaria in 2020 - if not earlier.

Sabitzer has represented Austria at youth level but has yet to make an appearance for their senior team, although he was called up to their squad during 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification but did not feature in any games.

Born March 17th 1994 (age 28), Marcel Sabitzer currently resides in Munich, Germany with his wife and two children; son Maximilian (born 2015) and daughter Sophia (born 2019).

Gregor Kobel is a goalkeeper for Borussia Dortmund and has been with the club since 2017. He made his professional debut in 2018, starting in BVB's 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gregor was born in Zürich, Switzerland on December 6th 1997 and started playing football at an early age with local clubs Grasshoppers and 1899 Hoffenheim before joining Borussia Dortmund as a youth player in 2013.

He broke into the first team during the 2018-19 season, making 15 appearances including 10 consecutive starts between October 18th - January 1st 2019 which led to him being nominated for the Bundesliga Goal of the Month award but he ultimately lost out to Alaba from Bayern Munich who scored twice against Hamburg.

His performances have seen him called up to Switzerland’s senior squad multiple times and he played Europa League qualifying matches against Iceland (as captain) and Andorra last month.

He is currently Borussia Dortmund’s first choice goalkeeper, having won both Belgian Pro League titles (2018 & 2020) as well as reaching the Champions League semifinals back-to-back years ago, something that few clubs can boast about nowadays.

Final Words

. . . The Bundesliga is one of the top professional soccer leagues in Europe, and has been a staple of German football for over 60 years. With some of the best players in the world playing in this league, it’s no surprise that there are many legends who have emerged from this competition.

From World Cup winners like Gerd Müller and Lothar Matthäus to Champions League finalists like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Philipp Lahm, these stars have left their mark on German football history.
