The South Bay Lakers are an exciting professional basketball team in the NBA G League. Founded in 2006 as the Los Angeles D-Fenders, the team is owned by the Los Angeles Lakers, the first National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise to own a D-League team.

With the conclusion of the 2016–17 D-League season, the D-Fenders re-branded as the South Bay Lakers, connecting them to the Lakers’ storied past.  The South Bay Lakers provide fans with the opportunity to watch up-and-coming young talent, as well as established veterans, take the court in an exciting and competitive environment. Mac McClung is a talented point guard who was drafted by the Delaware Blue Coats in the 2021 NBA G League Draft. Mac McClung played college basketball for Georgetown and Texas Tech.

Harrison was drafted by the Lakers in 2016 but did not sign with them. He then played for the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League. Harrison is a shooting guard who was born on October 6, 1993, in Kansas City, Missouri.

At six feet four inches tall and 180 pounds, Harrison has an average build for a shooting guard in the NBA G League. Harrison played college basketball at Tulsa from 2012 to 2016 where he averaged 16 points per game over his three seasons there.

After graduating from Tulsa, Harrison joined the Lakers' development team before signing with South Bay as their starting shooting guard this season. Shaquille Harrison was a two-time second-team All-AAC player and an AAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Shaquille Harrison spent three seasons playing for the Northern Arizona Suns before being drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2018. In 2021, Harrison signed with the Denver Nuggets where he played for two seasons before joining the Delaware Blue Coats in 2021.

After one season with Brooklyn, Shaquille Harrison returned to his home state of California to sign with the South Bay Lakers in 2022. 

In 2020, Shaquille earned NBA G League Defensive Player of The Year honors after averaging 2 steals and 1 block per game while also shooting 53% from 3 point range on over 200 attempts.

Mason Jones is a 24-year-old shooting guard who played collegiately at Connors State and Arkansas. Mason was drafted 13th overall by the Capitanes de Ciudad de México in the 2018 NBA G League Draft.

In his rookie season with the team, he averaged 10 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist per game while playing 30 minutes per contest. Mason has announced that he will be returning to play for Capitanes next year and hopes to improve on his rookie performance.

Mason Jones is a 2020 undrafted player who has played for the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, South Bay Lakers and Capitanes de Ciudad de México in his career so far. 

Mason Jones was an All-American at Vanderbilt in 2018 before going on to play for the Rockets, 76ers and Lakers over two seasons each.

Miles Simon was a shooting guard who played in the NBA for 10 seasons, including four with the Orlando Magic. Simon led the G League in scoring in both the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons.
