The Nevada Wolf Pack basketball team is the men’s basketball team that represents the University of Nevada, Reno. The Wolf Pack basketball team competes in the Mountain West Conference of the NCAA Division I, and is currently coached by Steve Alford. The Wolf Pack has had a long history of success, with its most recent Mountain West Conference regular season titles coming in 2017 and 2018.
The team has also had success in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2004 and the Elite Eight in 2018. The Wolf Pack has also won two CBI Championships in 2016 and 2018. With its passionate fan base and talented players, the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball team is sure to continue its success in the years to come.
1. Caleb Martin

Caleb Martin was drafted by the Miami Heat in the 2017 NBA draft. Caleb Martin attended Oak Hill Academy and played for the school's basketball team. In his two seasons with Miami (2017-2018), he averaged 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.
He is a small forward or power forward who can play both defense and offense effectively on either side of the court. Martin was a standout at NC State, where he averaged 20.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as a senior in 2017-2018.
Martin went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft but signed with the Charlotte Hornets shortly thereafter.
He made his debut for the Hornets on October 10th against the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 11 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field and adding 4 rebounds in 26 minutes of play.
Martin played sparingly for Charlotte over the next few months before being traded to Greensboro Swarm late into December - where he led all players in scoring (25 ppg) and rebounding (10 RPG).
In February 2020, Martin was traded to Miami Heat along with center Bam Adebayo and point guard Shabazz Napier in exchange for Goran Dragic, Kelly Olynyk, Josh Richardson, Devin Booker & a future first-round draft pick.
However, due to injury concerns around Adebayo & Napier respectively; Martin only featured sporadically across 14 games during this time frame averaging 6 PPG while grabbing 2 RPGs off the bench .
Failing to make an impact overall aside from helping lead Miami back into playoff contention as they finished 3rd seed behind Milwaukee Bucks & Philadelphia 76ers.

Cody Martin was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 28, 1995. He attended Davie County High School and then Oak Hill Academy before entering the NBA draft in 2016.
Martin played college basketball for Duke University and won a National Championship in 2017 as a junior. After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, he signed with the Charlotte Hornets and made his debut that season.
In 2018-19, he averaged 15 points per game while playing 34 minutes per game off the bench for Charlotte Hornets. Cody Martin played college basketball at NC State and Nevada.
He was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, but has yet to play a game for them.
Martin is currently playing with the Greensboro Swarm in the G League. In 2018, he won Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors after averaging 2 blocks and 1 steal per game.
NC State during their run to an NIT quarterfinal appearance that year as well as being named First Team All-MWC along with teammate Abdul-Malik Abu (a first-team selection this season).
Outside of basketball, Cody also studies business management at Nevada where he plans on attending law school after his career is over so that he can continue helping people through legal counsel or mediation services if needed.

Grant Sherfield is a talented point guard for the Oklahoma Sooners. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and played high school basketball at North Crowley. Grant has shown great promise as a freshman with the Sooners, averaging 10 points and 4 assists per game.
Grant will be playing his sophomore season this year with the Sooners and is looking to take his game to new heights in 2017-2018.
Grant Sherfield is a 2020 graduate of Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas. He played soccer for the academy and was named to the First-team All-Mountain West in 2021.
Grant signed with Wichita State after his freshman year of college, and will play there next season. Grant has already made an impact at Wichita State, being named Third-team All-Mountain West as a sophomore in 2022 before becoming a first team selection as a junior in 2021.
As one of only two freshmen on the 2021 Mountain West Newcomer of the Year squad, Grant’s future looks very bright both on and off the field.

Armon Johnson was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 23, 1989. After playing college basketball at Nevada from 2007-2010 Armon Johnson was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2010 NBA draft and started his professional career with them that same year.
During his time with the Trail Blazers he won two championships (2012 & 2017) and made an All-Star team (2015). In 2017 Armon retired from professional basketball after six seasons to pursue a new career opportunity outside of basketball.
Johnson was a standout player at Idaho State where he averaged 18.5 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game over his career.
Johnson was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets, but never played in an NBA game. He later signed with the Astana club of Kazakhstan before being traded to Valladolid in Spain in 2014.
In 2015, Johnson joined Austin Spurs for their inaugural season and led them to playoffs as captain of team; however, they were eliminated by eventual champions Golden State Warriors 4-1 in first round playoff series.
In 2016–2017, Johnson returned to Nevada Senators for another season where he helped guide them to WAC regular season championship and berth into WAC Tournament Championship which they eventually lost 2-0 against Fresno Stampede.

Steve Alford is currently the head coach of the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Mountain West Conference. Prior to his coaching career, he played point guard and shooting guard in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks from 1987-1991.
His coaching experience began in 1991 with a stint as an assistant at Arizona State before moving on to Indiana University where he was head coach from 2003-2013. He has also served as an assistant coach at UCLA and Iowa State among other schools throughout his lengthy coaching career.
In 2013, he was named head coach at New Mexico Lobos who are members of Division I basketball . In 2017-2018, Alford led a young UNM squad to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2006 by winning 29 games.
Overall including 20 against conference opponents en route to earning MWC regular season champion status for just the second time ever.
The Lobos lost 71-62 (8OT) in overtime against #1 seed Villanova in their opening round matchup but showed great resilience - having trailed by fourteen points with 7:22 left - ultimately becoming one of just four teams nationally ranked below #25 that made it allthe way to Dance under Steve Alford's tutelage.
A native of Franklin, Indiana (just outside Indianapolis), Steve attended Chrysler High School where he starred both on and off the court during his playing days alongside future pros Reggie Miller (Indiana Pacers) and Christian Laettner (Kansas Jayhawks).

Jarod Lucas is a point guard and shooting guard for Nevada. Lucas started playing basketball at the age of six. He attended high school at Whittier Christian School where he was a two-time All-State and All-Conference selection.
Lucas played one season at Oregon State before transferring to Nevada. Lucas averaged 16.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists as a junior at Oregon State.
He was named to the All-Mountain West Conference First Team and was a unanimous selection to the MWC All-Defensive Team.

Nick Fazekas is a ten-year veteran of the NBA who has played for the Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Phoenix Suns. Fazekas was born in 1985 in Arvada, Colorado and played high school basketball at Ralston Valley.
After playing college basketball for Nevada, Fazekas was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft. Fazekas has played in the NBA for six seasons and has averaged 5.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
Fazekas signed with the Brave Thunders of the B.League in 2018 and has been a key contributor in their inaugural season. Nick Fazekas was born on January 22, 1985 in the town of West Newton, Massachusetts.
He played collegiately at the University of Tulsa where he was a two-time B.League champion and three-time B.League Player of the Year.
After graduating from Tulsa, Fazekas started his professional career with the Tulsa 66ers of the B.League. In 2008, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers but did not play in the NBA.
In 2009, he signed with the Belgian club ASVEL and helped them win the LNB Pro A championship. In 2010, he joined the JDA Dijon of the French League. In 2011, he joined the Reno Bighorns of the NBA.
He returned to the B.League in 2012 and signed with the Japanese club, the Toshiba Kawasaki Brave Thunders. Fazekas has also played for the Australian club the Perth Wildcats and the Greek club PAOK.

Snyder was a shooting guard and small forward for the Utah Jazz from 2004 to 2011. Snyder was a first-round draft pick in 2004 and played for the Jazz for six seasons.
Snyder made an impact as a rookie with Utah, averaging 16.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Snyder's best season came in 2007, when he averaged 24.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
Snyder was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2011 and played for them for one season. Snyder is now a free agent and is expected to sign with another NBA team. Snyder is a three-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2009.
Snyder is a two-time NBA champion (2008, 2010) and was the MVP of the 2010 championship series. Snyder is one of only nine players in NBA history to score 30 points in a game on three different occasions.

Babbitt spent two seasons with the Suns before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017. He was with the Nets until he was traded to the Miami Heat in 2018. Babbitt has averaged 10.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his career.

In 2018, Babbitt was traded to the Miami Heat, but he was waived just a few weeks later. Babbitt is currently a free agent and is considered a possible candidate for the Atlanta Hawks' coaching staff. Babbitt is married and has two children. Babbitt is a devout Christian and has spoken about his faith in the past.

Edgar Jones was a 6'10" power forward/center who played in the NBA from 1979 to 1995. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1979 and played for them for six seasons before being traded to the Orlando Magic.
Jones also played for the Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and Sacramento Kings during his career. He was a three-time All-Star and won a championship with the Magic in 1995. Jones currently works as an assistant coach with the Bucks.
Edgar Jones was a standout player for the San Antonio Spurs from 1983 to 1984. Jones played for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1984 to 1986 and then spent time with Panathinaikos in 1988 and Peñas Huesca in 1991. Jones was an All-Star for the first time in 1990 and was named to the Greek Cup All-Star team that year.
Jones played for the Yakima Sun Kings of the CBA for two seasons before retiring in 1995. Jones has had a successful post-playing career, including working as an assistant coach with the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Texas Legends of the G League.
Jones was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. Jones has two children and lives in Austin, Texas. Jones remains active in the NBA community, serving as a mentor to young players and participating in charity events.
Edgar Jones is one of the most decorated players in NBA history and was an important part of the Spurs' and Cavaliers' championship runs in the 1980s.

Musselman is in his sixth season as head coach of Arkansas and has led the Razorbacks to a record of 86-34 (.717).
Musselman played professional basketball for the San Diego Clippers from 1983-1987 and then served as an assistant coach with the Rapid City Thrillers and the Minnesota Timberwolves from 1990-1991.

Kendall Stephens was born on November 11, 1994 in Whittington, Victoria, Australia. Stephens attended high school at St. Charles East in St. Charles, Illinois before enrolling at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
Stephens played for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2013-2015. He was a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and was named a First Team All-American in 2014. Stephens was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft.
