The Seattle Thunderbirds are an exciting junior hockey team based in the city of Kent, Washington, just south of Seattle. Founded in 1977, the Thunderbirds have had a long and successful history in the Western Hockey League, having won the President’s Cup three times and the Ed Chynoweth Cup twice.

They have also had their fair share of NHL alumni, including Tyler Johnson, Shea Theodore, and Mathew Barzal. Today, the Thunderbirds play their home games at the accesso ShoWare Center, where they hope to continue their winning tradition.

Mathew Barzal is a Canadian-born ice hockey player who currently plays for the New York Islanders. He was drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2nd round, 47th overall of the 2013 OHL Priority Draft.

In his rookie NHL season with the Islanders in 2018–19, he led all rookies in points (36) and assists (30). He has represented Canada at both junior and senior levels, winning gold medals at both tournaments - World Juniors (2017) and Olympic Gold Medal games (2018).

Barzal was also named to Team Canada's roster for their championship run at the PyeongChang Olympics where they finished as runners-up to Sweden after losing an extremely tight semifinal game 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 tie through regulation time and two periods of overtime – one lasting 5:14 minutes.

Outside of hockey, he studies business administration at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC Mathew Barzal was born on October 22nd, 1997 in Coquitlam, British Columbia. 

He played for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds before being drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2015 NHL Draft. In 2016-2017 he helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships and was named player of the tournament.

In 2018-2019 Mathew led all rookies with 63 points (21 goals, 42 assists) in 81 games and helped guide the Islanders to their first playoff appearance since 2007-2008. 

At just 19 years old Mathew Barzal is already one of hockey’s brightest stars and looks set to continue his impressive play into the later stages of his career.

Thomas Hickey is a defenseman for the New York Islanders. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Hickey has played with Buffalo, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings and New York Islanders during his career.

In 2018 he won his first Stanley Cup as part of the New York Islanders Thomas Hickey played for the New York Islanders from 2009-2015. He was drafted 4th overall by the LA Kings in 2007 and has since played for them, as well as the NY Rangers and Boston Bruins.

Thomas is known for his hard work on defence and is a key member of all three teams he's been with. In 2015, he signed with the NY Islanders pending a physical which passed so he joined their NHL team immediately. 

Thomas will be playing his last season in 2017-18 with the Isles before retiring at the end of that year.

Shea Theodore is a 27-year-old Canadian defenseman who played for the Vegas Golden Knights in their inaugural season. He originally signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets as an undrafted free agent in 2013, but was traded to Anaheim Ducks shortly after.

After four seasons with Anaheim, he was traded to Pittsburgh Penguins prior to the 2018–19 season and made his Stanley Cup playoff debut later that year. 

Theodore scored two goals and added eight assists during the postseason as the Penguins defeated Washington Capitals in six games to win their fourth consecutive Stanley Cup championship.

He represented Canada at both the World Championships (2018) and the Olympics (2016). In 2019, Theodore signed a one-year contract extension with Vegas worth $2 million dollars Shea Theodore is a left-handed defenceman who was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2013. 

He has played for the Vegas Golden Knights and the Anaheim Ducks since 2014 before joining the Canada national team in 2017.

Shea Theodore is considered to be one of the best defensive prospects in NHL history, and he has been praised for his skating, puck possession skills, and shot-blocking ability. 

Despite being young for an NHL player at only 21 years old, Shea Theodore has already established himself as a key member of several teams over his career so far - including Anaheim Ducks (2014), Vegas Golden Knights (2017) and Canada (2017).

Luke Prokop is a German-born, Edmonton-raised defenseman who is playing in the AHL with the Edmonton Oil Kings. 

Selected in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, Prokop is a highly-touted prospect who is expected to be a key player for the Oil Kings in the upcoming season.

Prokop has a ton of talent and is expected to be a top-tier defenseman in the NHL one day. He is a natural skater with good mobility and the ability to move the puck well. Prokop is also strong defensively and is a good penalty killer. 

He has a good work ethic and is always trying to improve his game. Prokop is a promising young player and is expected to continue developing into a great defenseman in the NHL.

Kevin Korchinski is a Canadian defenceman who was drafted in the first round, sixth overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. 

Korchinski played in the World Junior Championships for Canada in 2015 and 2016, helping his country win a silver medal in 2016.

Korchinski played major junior hockey with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and was named to the WHL First All-Star Team in 2016. 

Korchinski made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in the 2016-17 season and has since played in 63 games, scoring four goals and nine assists.

Korchinski was traded to the Ottawa Senators in the summer of 2018 and has played in 32 games with Ottawa, scoring one goal and three assists. 

Korchinski is a strong defensive player and is known for his shot blocking and physical play. Korchinski is expected to be a key player for the Senators in the future.

Korchinski is a citizen of Canada and is eligible to play for Canada in the 2019 World Championship. Korchinski is a four-time member of the Canada Men's National Team and was a part of the team that won the World Cup of Hockey in 2017.

Glen Goodall is a centre who played for Flint Spirits and the Adirondack Red Wings. Goodall was born in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada in 1970. Goodall played junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs and the Calgary Hitmen before turning professional.

Goodall played for the Flint Spirits in the International Hockey League (IHL) before moving to the American Hockey League (AHL) to play for the Adirondack Red Wings. 

Goodall was a member of the Canadian national team and competed in the World Championships in 1995, the World Cup of Hockey in 1996 and the Winter Olympics in 1998.

Goodall retired from hockey in 2002 and has since worked as a coach. Goodall has two daughters and lives in Adirondack, New York. 

Glen Goodall played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1990 to 2010. He was a member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1992 and was a part of the Red Wings' Stanley Cup-winning squad in 1997. Glen Goodall also played for the Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, and Colorado Avalanche.

He was a member of Canada's gold medal-winning team at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Glen Goodall is currently the goaltending coach for the Binghamton Rangers.

Turner Stevenson is a retired right winger who played in the NHL for 10 seasons. Stevenson was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.

Bud Holloway is a right wing player with the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 3rd round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Holloway won a Swiss championship with SC Bern in 2017. He also played in the NHL with Montreal Canadiens and CSKA Moscow.

Bow was born in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada on August 24, 1995. He played major junior hockey with the Edmonton Oil Kings before being drafted in the third round, 73rd overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Bow made his professional debut with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League in the 2015-16 season. He was traded to the Ottawa Senators in February 2018 and then to the Edmonton Oilers in March 2018. 

Bow played in 61 games with the Oilers and scored six goals and 15 assists before being traded to the Ottawa Senators in February 2018.

He played in 14 games with the Senators and scored one goal before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers in March 2018. Bow played in 43 games with the Oilers and scored seven goals and 10 assists before being traded to the San Jose Sharks in March 2019. 

Bow played in five games with the Sharks before being traded to the Arizona Coyotes in April 2019.

Bow has played in 131 NHL games and scored 11 goals and 26 assists.

Aaron Gagnon was born in 1986 in Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada. Gagnon played junior hockey for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League (WHL).

He was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Gagnon made his NHL debut with the Avalanche in 2006. He was traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2007.

Gagnon was traded to the Iowa Stars in 2008. He was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2009. Gagnon was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2010. He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2011.

Aaron Gagnon was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 240th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft. Gagnon played for the Winnipeg Jets and HV71 in his playing career. He spent the majority of his career with the Phoenix Coyotes before retiring in 2020.

Gagnon was a fan favorite for his gritty play and always seemed to be in the middle of the action. Gagnon is most well-known for his time with the SC Bern Swiss team where he won a championship in 2017. Gagnon will forever be remembered for his gritty play and toughness on the ice.

Greg Scott is a centre for the Calgary Flames. He was drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Flames. Scott has represented Canada in international play, most notably at the World Junior Championships.

In the 2011-12 season, Scott scored his first NHL goal against the Edmonton Oilers. He has also appeared in five playoff games for the Flames, recording one assist. In the 2013-14 season, Scott was named an alternate captain for the Flames.

In the 2014-15 season, Scott had a career year, scoring 31 goals and recording 54 assists. He was named to the NHL First All-Star Team and won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player. In the 2017-18 season, Scott was traded to the Florida Panthers.

Brendan Witt is a defenceman who played for the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and the Chicago Blackhawks. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

He played for Edmonton from 1994 to 2002, and for Vancouver from 2002 to 2006. He then played for Chicago from 2006 to 2011. He was traded to Vancouver in exchange for Alexandre Burrows in 2011. He was then traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Dale Weise and a fifth-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Danny Lorenz is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League (NHL). Lorenz was drafted 47th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.

Oleg Saprykin is a Russian left winger who has spent his entire career in the Kontinental Hockey League. Saprykin began his career with CSKA Moscow in 2001.

He was named the KHL's rookie of the year that season and helped the club win the KHL championship. Saprykin also played for Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes in his career.

He was a part of the Flames team that reached the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, but they were defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Saprykin is a two-time KHL All-Star and a two-time winner of the KHL's Best Forward Award.

Shane Endicott is a professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing for the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL). Endicott played junior hockey for the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Endicott is a two-time winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best defenseman.

Jan Hrdina was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Jan Hrdina played for the Penguins, Phoenix Coyotes, and New Jersey Devils in the NHL.

Errol Rausse is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). Rausse was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round of the 1977 NHL Entry Draft.

He played for the Bruins, Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers, and Detroit Red Wings. Errol Rausse was a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with the Edmonton Oilers in 1987 and the Detroit Red Wings in 2002.
