The Regina Pats have been a part of Saskatchewan’s hockey history since 1917, making them the oldest major junior hockey franchise in the world. Based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, the Pats play in the Western Hockey League and call Brandt Centre their home arena.

Ryker Evans is a young, upcoming defender who has already made an impact in the Canadian Premier League. Ryker Evans was born in Calgary, Alberta, and started playing soccer at a very young age.

Ryker Evans played for various youth teams before joining the Calgary Foothills U-16 team in 2016. In 2017, Ryker Evans joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 side where he made 38 appearances and scored one goal while helping them to win the CPL Championship title.

The Toronto FC Academy spotted Ryker Evans during their pre-season tour of North America and signed him to their development program ahead of the 2018 season. Ryker Evans made his professional debut with Toronto FC II on May 12th, 2018 against Louisville City SC. 

In total, Rykers' has made 8 appearances for TFC II so far this season without scoring any goals。 Toronto FC announced on October 25th that they have acquired the rights to sign Ryker Evans permanently from Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 effective immediately.

Rykers had impressed sufficiently enough with his play at USL level for TFC II coach Greg Vanney & Co., who swooped in & took him up as part of the deal that saw fellow academy product Jordan Hamilton depart.

Dirk Graham is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 14 seasons, with the Winnipeg Jets, Hartford Whalers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Saskatchewan Sport Hall of Fame in 2004. After his playing career ended, Graham operated an agricultural business until he sold it in 2007.

In 2009, he became president of UBC Thunderbirds hockey team and served as head coach from 2010 to 2013 before leaving to become general manager and vice-president of operations for the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

On July 1st 2017 Dirk Graham was named President and General Manager of The Regina Pats Hockey Club effective August 1st 2017 succeeding Kevin Dineen who has been appointed Senior Vice President - Operations & General Manager – Colorado Avalanche AHL affiliate club.

Ernie Hicke was born on November 7, 1947 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He played left wing for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1969 to 1978 and later became head coach of their AHL affiliate the St.

John's Maple Leafs. In 2001 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder-coach and helped develop players such as Wendel Clark and Mats Sundin. 

Ernie Hicke passed away on December 15th, 2014 at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer Ernie Hicke played for the Oakland Seals, Atlanta Flames and New York Islanders.

He retired in 1980 having played 9 seasons in the NHL. Ernie is also a member of the Minnesota North Stars Hall of Fame as well as the Los Angeles Kings Hall of Fame. 

Ernie was born on October 15th, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN and died from cancer on September 17th, 2010 at the age of 66 years old.

Jordan Weal is a 30-year-old centre who has played for the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. Jordan was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

He made his NHL debut with the Kings in 2012, scoring his first career goal against Roberto Luongo in a 3-1 victory over Vancouver Canucks. In 2014, he signed as a free agent with Philadelphia Flyers and helped them reach the Stanley Cup Final where they were defeated by Pittsburgh Penguins..

After two seasons with Philly, Weal opted to join KHL club Avangard Omsk on a three year deal worth $9 million USD in 2017/18 season. 

Jordan has represented Canada at both junior level (2010 World Junior Championship) and senior level (2014 World Championships). He currently plays for Laval Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Jeff Friesen was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, on August 5, 1976. Friesen played junior hockey with the Medicine Hat Tigers, before being drafted in the fourth round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.

Friesen made his NHL debut with the Flames in 2000, and went on to play for the team for seven seasons. In 2007, Friesen was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, and he retired from playing in the NHL in 2010. 

Since retiring from playing, Friesen has worked as a hockey analyst for various networks. Friesen is married to his wife, Tara, and they have two children. Jeff Friesen is a cancer survivor, and he has raised money for cancer awareness through his charity, The Jeff Friesen Foundation. 

In 2017, Jeff Friesen was inducted into the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame. Jeff Friesen is one of the most successful Canadian players in the history of the NHL, and he is considered one of the best left wingers in the league.

Connor Bedard was born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2005. 

Connor Bedard played hockey for the North Vancouver District High School Hurricanes before being drafted by the Regina Pats in the 2nd round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

Connor Bedard made his WHL debut with the Regina Pats in the 2017-2018 season and recorded 5 goals and 10 assists for 15 points in 49 games. 

In the 2018-2019 season, Connor Bedard increased his point total to 16 goals and 34 assists for 50 points in 66 games.

Connor Bedard was named the WHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 15, 2018.

Jock Callander is a 61-year-old Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is best known for playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He has also played for the Cleveland Barons, the Calgary Flames, and the Hartford Whalers.

Callander has played in over 1000 NHL games, scoring 266 goals and adding 287 assists. He has also won two Stanley Cups with the Maple Leafs in 1994 and 2002. Callander was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006.

He currently coaches the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). Callander was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 23, 1961. 

Jock Callander was born on October 10, 1962 in Orillia, Ontario. He played his first professional hockey season with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1982-83.

He then played for the Tampa Bay Lightning until 2000. He held the record for most games played in the NHL with 1,564. 

He was also a member of the Canadian national team, and won a silver medal at the 1988 Winter Olympics. He retired from professional hockey in 2000. He now works as a hockey analyst for TSN and ESPN.

He was inducted into the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. He is married with three children.

Dale Derkatch was born on October 17, 1964, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He played centre for HC Bolzano, HC Asiago, and the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Derkatch is a two-time winner of the Italian League's Most Valuable Player Award. He has also won the World Cup of Hockey, the IIHF World Championships, and the Stanley Cup.

Derkatch has represented Canada in international play on numerous occasions, and has won a silver medal at the 1988 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

He is a five-time NHL All-Star and was the recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player in 2000. Derkatch was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.

He currently serves as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Winnipeg Jets.

Doug Wickenheiser was a highly skilled and successful hockey player. He was known for his physicality on the ice and was a key player for the Calgary Flames.

Dennis Sobchuk is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played for the Phoenix Roadrunners of the American Hockey League from 1981 to 1984. Sobchuk was born in Lang, Saskatchewan, in 1954.

He played centre for the Phoenix Roadrunners, and was their captain from 1982 to 1984. Sobchuk was the runner-up for the AHL's Most Valuable Player Award in 1984. Sobchuk retired from professional hockey in 1984.

He now works as a hockey coach. Sobchuk was inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame in 2002. Sobchuk is married and has three children. Sobchuk is a Canadian citizen. Sobchuk is 6'2" and weighs 180 pounds. Dennis Sobchuk was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL Draft in 1974.

Mike Sillinger is a 51-year-old Canadian centerman who has played in the NHL for Detroit, Anaheim, and Vienna. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round, 41st overall, of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft.

Sillinger has played in 1,025 career NHL games, all with Detroit, scoring 191 goals and 318 assists for 529 points. In 2006, Sillinger signed with the Nashville Predators, playing with them until he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in 2009.

Austin Wagner was born in 1997 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is 6'1" and weighs 179 lbs. Wagner is a left wing and has played for the Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers and now the Vegas Golden Knights.

Wagner has appeared in 88 NHL games and scored 16 goals and 38 assists. In 2017, Wagner was a key component of the Calgary Flames' playoff run, scoring five goals in 14 games. Wagner was traded to the Florida Panthers in February of 2018.

Dave Michayluk was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan on May 18, 1962. He played right wing in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Michayluk was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006. He currently works as an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames. 

Dave Michayluk has two children. Dave Michayluk was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 65th overall pick in the 1981 NHL Draft.

He played for the Flyers for six seasons before moving on to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Michayluk was a hard-nosed forward who was known for his gritty play. 

He was a key member of the Flyers' Stanley Cup-winning team in 1993. Michayluk retired from the NHL in 1997 after playing his last game with the Penguins.

Jackman was a member of the Skelleftea team that won the Swedish Elite League championship in 2000. Jackman was a two-time winner of the Lester B. Pearson Award, given to the most outstanding player in the Canadian Hockey League. Jackman was inducted into the St. Louis Blues Hall of Fame in 2016.

Brett Lysak is a veteran of the Canadian Hockey League, playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings, Medicine Hat Tigers, and Kalamazoo Wings. Lysak has been a consistent scorer throughout his career, scoring at a rate of over a point-per-game in each of his first six seasons in the league.

He was signed by the Detroit Red Wings as a free agent in 2013, but was released at the end of the season.

Fran Huck is a retired professional ice hockey player who played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Atlanta Flames and the Hartford Whalers. 

Huck was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and played his junior hockey for the Regina Pats.

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round of the 1965 NHL Amateur Draft. 

Huck played for the Flyers for four seasons between 1966 and 1969 before being traded to the Atlanta Flames. He played for the Flames for three seasons between 1970 and 1973 before being traded to the Whalers.

Huck played for the Whalers for two seasons between 1974 and 1976. Huck won the Stanley Cup with the Whalers in 1974. 

He played his final season in the NHL in 1976 with the Hartford Whalers. Huck retired from professional hockey in 1977. Fran Huck was a very skilled and prolific left winger for the Montreal Canadiens, St.

Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, and Minnesota Fighting Saints. Huck played a total of 9 seasons in the NHL, and was a key part of Canada's Gold Medal-winning teams at the World Championships in 1975 and 1977. 

After finishing his playing career, Huck went on to manage and coach in the NHL. He was the head coach of the ZSC Lions in the Swiss National League from 1994 to 1998, and then the head coach of the Calgary Flames from 1999 to 2003.

In 2006, Huck was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Fran Huck was a gifted scorer and playmaker who was a major part of some very successful NHL teams. He will be remembered as one of the greatest left wingers in league history.

Brad Lauer was born in 1966 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. He played hockey for the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 1984 to 1988.

He then played for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) from 1988 to 1991. He made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres on October 6, 1991.

He played for the Sabres, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Vancouver Canucks, and the New York Rangers. He won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010. He retired from the NHL in 2013.

Gerry Minor is a retired Canadian football player who played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1978 to 1984. He was a two-time All-Western Canadian selection and was the team's MVP in 1983.

Larry Wright is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over 20 years. Wright was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 1970 NHL Entry Draft.

He spent his entire NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing parts of 21 seasons. Wright was a key player for the Leafs during their dynasty years of the 1980s, winning four Stanley Cups. After retiring from the NHL, Wright played for the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Calgary Flames.

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. Wright is currently the owner and president of the Toronto Marlies, an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) team.

Glen Burdon is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs.

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round, 10th overall, of the 1975 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game in the 1975–76 season. Burdon won the Stanley Cup with the Calgary Flames in 1989.

He currently resides in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. He is the father of NHL player Glen Burdon Jr. Glen Burdon was drafted by the Scouts in 1974 and played for them for four seasons. He was then drafted by the Oilers in the WHA Draft in 1974 and played for them for four seasons.

He retired from hockey in 1979. Glen Burdon was a very skilled player and is still considered one of the best defensemen in Oilers' history. He is also a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Ron Snell is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played most of his career with the Calgary Flames, but also played for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Vancouver Canucks.

He has coached the Flames, Flyers, Canucks, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Snell is currently the head coach of the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. Snell married his wife, Barb, in 1977. They have two children, Jeremy and Kelly.

Lyndon Byers is a Canadian politician who has been the Member of Parliament for the riding of Nipawin since the 2004 federal election. Previously, he was the Member of Provincial Parliament for the Saskatchewan Party for the riding of Rosthern from 1999 to 2004.

Shantz played for the Chicago Blackhawks for 10 seasons. Shantz was a centre and is considered one of the best in that position. He was a part of the Blackhawks team that won the Stanley Cup in 2010.

Filip Novák played for the Traktor Chelyabinsk and Ottawa Senators in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) before being drafted by the New York Rangers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Novák played for HC Ceské Budejovice and HC MVD in the Czech Extraliga before joining the Columbus Blue Jackets in the NHL in 2013.

Butcher was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and played his entire career with the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues and Quebec Nordiques. Butcher was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.

After spending three seasons with the Canucks, Butcher was traded to the St. Louis Blues in 1985. Butcher played with the Blues until 1991, when he was traded to the Quebec Nordiques. Butcher spent two seasons with the Nordiques before he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1994.

Butcher remained with the Canucks until 2001, when he was traded to the St. Louis Blues. Butcher played with the Blues until 2006, when he was traded to the Quebec Nordiques.

Brent Fedyk was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, in 1967. Fedyk played for the NHL's Calgary Flames from 1987 to 2002, scoring 426 goals and 943 points in 927 games.

He then played for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators, before retiring in 2006. In 2007, Fedyk was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He currently works as a TV analyst for the Flames and the NHL.

Gary Leeman is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Leeman played for the Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

He was a two-time Stanley Cup champion with Ottawa in 1992 and Colorado in 1996. Leeman also played for the national teams of Canada and the United States, winning a silver medal at the 1988 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Leeman announced his retirement from hockey in 2008. He has since worked as a colour commentator for NHL games on TSN. Leeman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013. Gary Leeman was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 24th overall pick of the 1982 NHL Draft.

Gary Leeman was a powerful forward who was known for his scoring ability. He finished his career with 426 goals and 573 assists in 1,022 games.

Gary Leeman was a member of the Canadian national team for many years, and he was a part of the team that won the World Cup in 1991. Gary Leeman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. 

Gary Leeman is currently the head coach of the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Hall was a two time Stanley Cup champion with the Canucks, in 1994 and 1995. He was also a two time All-Star, and won a Gold Medal with Canada at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Hall was traded to the Boston Bruins in 1998, and won a Stanley Cup with them in 2002.

Hall has since moved on to play in the NHL for the Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, and Carolina Hurricanes. He currently holds the record for the most points in a single season, with point totals of 97 in the 2010-11 season. Hall was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018.

Barrie Meissner is a Canadian actor and director. Meissner started his career in the 1970s, appearing in several television series and films. He is most well known for his role as Dr.

David Addison on the Canadian medical drama "St. Elsewhere". Meissner has also directed several television episodes and feature films. In 2010, he was awarded an honorary doctor of law degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

Bill Hicke was born on March 31, 1938 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He played right wing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Black Hawks throughout his career.

Hicke was known for his speed and offensive abilities. He died on July 18, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. Hicke was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also a member of the Order of Canada.

His number, 22, was retired by the Maple Leafs. Hicke's legacy will live on through his contributions to the sport of hockey. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in Maple Leafs history. 

Bill Hicke played for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Oakland Seals, California Golden Seals, Pittsburgh Penguins and Alberta Oilers over a ten year playing career.

He was a two time all-star, and won two Stanley Cups with Pittsburgh. He was a very productive player, scoring over 1,000 points in his career. He was a very physical player, and was known for his hard hits. 

He was a very popular player with the fans, and was regarded as one of the best players of his era. He retired from playing in 1973, and later worked as a hockey commentator. He is currently a hockey coach, and serves as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Final Words

The Regina Pats have had some of Saskatchewan’s best hockey players over the years and they have produced some great players. Some of the best players to ever play for the Regina Pats include Mario Lemieux, Jarome Iginla, and Brett Hull.
