Philipp Max is a versatile defender who can play as a left back or central midfielder depending on the situation, and has also been used as an attacking midfielder on occasion due to his quick feet and crossing ability.

His strengths lie primarily in defence where he is very composed with good positional sense; however, he can also create chances offensively when given space by teammates or put into dangerous positions himself thanks to his passing abilities from midfield or fullback positions.

Philipp Max's versatility makes him one of the most sought-after defenders available on the market and teams such as Barcelona have been linked with signing him in recent months despite having several viable options already at their disposal defensively (such as Samuel Umtiti).

Despite being relatively young (only 29 years old), Philipp Max has experience playing at some of Europe's top clubs which should serve him well if he decides to move overseas next season.

Whether that be permanently or on loan remains to be seen but whichever route he takes it will be interesting to see how successful he becomes given his talent level alone.
