The Oshawa Generals are a proud Ontario Hockey League (OHL) team based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1937, the team is sponsored by General Motors, which has its Canadian headquarters in the city of Oshawa.

The Generals have a long and storied history, having produced 184 graduates to the National Hockey League and winning the OHL championship seven times.

The team plays its home games at the Tribute Communities Centre, formerly known as the General Motors Centre. With a passionate and dedicated fan base, the Oshawa Generals are sure to continue their success for years to come.

Wayne Cashman was born in 1945 in Kingston, Ontario. He played for the Boston Bruins from 1971 to 1981. Cashman was a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Bruins.

He also won a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 1976 Winter Olympics. After playing hockey, Cashman worked as a broadcaster for NHL teams and baseball's Toronto Blue Jays before retiring in 2007.

In 2014, he was awarded an induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the sport of hockey Wayne Cashman was a player and assistant coach for the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins.

Wayne Cashman played 11 seasons in the NHL from 1965-1983 with the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres (where he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year), Boston Bruins and finally Tampa Bay Lighting. 

He retired as a player in 1983 but rejoined his old team - TBJ - as an assistant coach before becoming head coach of their AHL affiliate Springfield Falcons in 1987 where he stayed until 2006 when he joined Canada's national coaching staff.

As a player Wayne Cashman scored 595 goals and added 1128 assists for 1658 points in 1396 career games including 439 playoff contests scoring 116 goals and 295 assists for 421 points helping his teams to 8 division titles (6 with BUF/TBJ & 2 with SJS). 

In 1988 Wayne Cashman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside such legends as Gordie Howe, Johnny Bower & Toe Blake. 

After leaving Springfield Falcon¹s coaching position WayneCashman moved back to Toronto where he has been working on various broadcasting projects since 2007 Coyotes TV Broadcaster.

Savard played for the Boston Bruins from 1997 to 2011. Savard won two Stanley Cups with the Bruins in 2010 and 2011. Savard was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2012, but he has since recovered.

In 2018, Savard announced his retirement from hockey after 17 seasons in the NHL. Savard is a three-time All-Star and was named to the NHL Second All-Star Team twice (in 2003 and 2005). 

In 2007,Savard was awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the best defenseman in the NHL that season.

Savard has also been nominated for four Vezina Awards (the league's top goalie award) over his career, winning once (in 2009). Marc Savard currently works as an analyst on Sportsnet 590 The Fan radio station when not playing or coaching hockey himself.

Michael Del Zotto is a defenceman for the Philadelphia Flyers. He was drafted by the Flyers in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He played four seasons with the New York Rangers before arriving in Philadelphia as a free agent in 2014.

In his first season with the Flyers, he helped them make it to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 1974. In 2016-17, he signed a two-year contract extension with Philadelphia and continued to play an important role on defense for them during that season as well as into 2017-18.

Michael Del Zotto has been awarded three times with an Olympic Gold Medal (2010, 2012, 2016), which makes him one of just six players ever to win medals at both junior and senior level competitions (alongside Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe and Erik Karlsson).

4. Danny O'Shea

Danny O'Shea is a retired professional football player who played for the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He also played in the American Football League (AFL).

Danny O'Shea was born on June 15, 1945 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. O'Shea began his career with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1965. 

In 1968, he joined the Montreal Alouettes of the AFL where he spent three seasons before retiring from play following the 1971 season.

After retirement from playing football, O'Shea became an assistant coach with both his former teams - Toronto and Montreal - before taking over as head coach of Hamilton in 1984; he held that position until 1991 when he was replaced by Rick Campbell. 

Danny O'Shea has been inducted into both the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and The CFL Hall of Fame and holds several records including most games played (276), most carries (10,546) and most touchdowns scored (278).

Danny O' Shea currently resides in Mississauga, Ontario with his wife Norma Jean and their two children Bethany Marie and Brenton Daniel Jr.

Rob Pearson was born in Oshawa, Ontario on March 8, 1971. He played his junior hockey for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). 

In 1993, he signed with the Edmonton Oilers as a free agent and spent four seasons with their affiliate team in Springfield, Missouri before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks in 1997.

Pearson had two productive seasons with Anaheim before signing as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs prior to the 2000-01 season. 

He played six seasons with Toronto before being traded to Tampa Bay Lightning midway through the 2007-08 season where he would retire after playing just one game for them that year due to injury.

Rob is currently an assistant coach with his former team,the Ducks AHL affiliate Norfolk Admirals and also coaches at a summer hockey camp near his home town of Oshawa each July.

Brandon Nolan is a 39-year-old Canadian hockey player who currently plays for the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL). 

Nolan was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

However, he never made it to the NHL and instead played for numerous minor league teams. Nolan has played in over 650 games in the AHL, scoring over 180 points. He is a two-time AHL All-Star and has also won a silver medal with Canada at the 2003 World Championships.

Nolan announced his retirement from professional hockey in early 2017. He now works as an assistant coach with the River Rats. Nolan is married and has two children. He is a strong supporter of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where he volunteers as a hockey coach.

Nolan is a very popular player in the AHL, and his fans affectionately call him "Boomer".

Scott McCrory was born in Sudbury, Ontario, in 1967. He played hockey for the AHL's Binghamton Whalers, Baltimore Skipjacks, and Rochester Americans before moving to Austria in 2002.

McCrory is best known for his time spent with the Americans, where he was a two-time AHL All-Star and won the Calder Cup in 2004. McCrory retired from hockey in 2007 after playing in Austria for four seasons.

He has since worked as a hockey commentator for Canadian networks and founded his own hockey school. McCrory is married with two children. In 2013, he was inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame. Scott McCrory is a two-time Olympian and played for Canada at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics.

He is also a two-time World Champion and a three-time Stanley Cup Champion. Scott McCrory was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1986 NHL Draft with the 250th overall pick. 

McCrory played his entire career with the Capitals organization, spending 10 seasons with the team. McCrory was a key member of the Capitals Stanley Cup-winning teams in 1988 and 1990.

McCrory also played in the NHL All-Star Game in 1990 and 1992. McCrory retired from professional hockey in 2001. McCrory is now a color analyst for the Capitals broadcasts. McCrory is a three-time winner of the Lester B. 

Pearson Award, which is given to the NHL player who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, character and dedication to the game. McCrory was inducted into the Capitals Hall of Fame in 2006.

Michael Dal Colle was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders. He made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 2018-19.

Dal Colle has also played for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. In 2019, Dal Colle was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Ryan Strome.

He has scored 41 goals and 105 points in 236 NHL games. Dal Colle was named to the AHL All-Star Game in 2018 and 2019. He is a member of the Canada national team.

Norm Schmidt is a retired professional ice hockey player who played for the Minnesota North Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Schmidt played in the NHL for over 20 years, and was a key part of the North Stars team that won the Stanley Cup in 1991.

Schmidt also played for the Flyers and Lightning, and was a part of their Stanley Cup-winning teams in 1996 and 2004, respectively.

Craig was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round, 21st overall, in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Craig played for the Saint John Flames, the Calgary Flames, and the Edmonton Oilers before joining the Hartford Wolf Pack in 2001.

Craig was named to the AHL All-Star team in 2002. Craig was traded to the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2004, and then to the New York Islanders in 2006. Craig was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2007, and then to the Nashville Predators in 2010.

Mike Craig was a prolific scorer in the NHL, tallying over 600 points in his career. Craig played for the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, and SCL Tigers, before retiring in 2013.

Craig is a three-time All-Star and was inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 2014. Craig was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and played hockey for the Edmonton Platers junior team before turning professional with the Minnesota North Stars in 1990. 

Craig was a key player for the North Stars during their run to the Stanley Cup in 1999. Craig also played for Austria in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship, winning a silver medal in 2004.

Dale Craigwell is a retired Canadian ice hockey defenseman. Craigwell played over 1,000 NHL games, scoring 94 goals and 268 assists. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Atlanta Thrashers.

Joe Cirella was born on May 9, 1963 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is a defenceman and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 3rd round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.

Cirella played for the Rockies for 10 seasons before retiring in 2000. Cirella has since played for the Chicago Wolves and the Phoenix Coyotes. Joe Cirella was inducted into the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

He currently resides in Hamilton with his wife and two children. Joe Cirella is a member of the Canadian national team and has played in several international tournaments. Joe Cirella is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion (1995 with Colorado and 2001 with Chicago).

Joe Cirella is considered by many to be one of the best defencemen in NHL history. Joe Cirella was drafted 5th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Cirella played 13 seasons in the NHL, all with the Devils. He was a two-time Stanley Cup Champion (1995 and 1996).

After playing his final season with the Devils in 1997, Cirella retired from playing. He then served as an assistant coach with the Devils from 1998 to 2001.

Dale DeGray is a defenceman who played in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers. DeGray was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.

DeGray played his first NHL game with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1985-86 season. DeGray was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1995-96 season. DeGray played his last NHL game with the New York Rangers in the 2000-01 season. DeGray retired from professional hockey in 2001.

DeGray is currently the head coach of the Oshawa Generals, a junior ice hockey team in Ontario. DeGray was named the head coach of the Canadian men's national ice hockey team in March 2013. 

DeGray was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. Dale DeGray was drafted 162nd overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1981 NHL Draft.

DeGray spent three seasons with the Flames before moving on to the Toronto Maple Leafs. DeGray played two seasons with the Maple Leafs before moving on to the Los Angeles Kings. DeGray played one season with the Kings before transferring to the Buffalo Sabres. 

DeGray played one season with the Sabres before retiring. DeGray was a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Flames and Maple Leafs.

DeGray is currently the head coach of the Fort Wayne Komets in the American Hockey League. DeGray was named the head coach of Team Canada at the IIHF World Championships in 2018. DeGray was inducted into the Calgary Flames Hall of Fame in 2009.

Todd was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on March 22, 1965. He is 6'1" and 190 pounds. Todd played defense for the NHL's Calgary Flames from 1990-1996.

He played for the Penguins for six seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1991. He played his last season in 1995 with the Rangers. 

Todd Charlesworth was a key player for both the Penguins and the Rangers during his career. He was a regular on the penalty kill and was a member of the Penguins' Stanley Cup-winning team in 1991.

Todd Charlesworth retired from professional hockey in 1995. He currently works in the hockey industry as a scout for teams. Todd Charlesworth is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. 

Todd Charlesworth is a two-time winner of the Lester B. Pearson Award, which is given to the Canadian player of the year.

Nathan Perrott is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the St. John's Maple Leafs.

John Tripp was born on May 4, 1977 in Kingston, Ontario. Tripp played for the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Ottawa Senators before retiring in 2013.

Tripp is considered one of the most successful Canadian players of all time. John Tripp was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 77th overall pick in the 1995 NHL Draft. 

Tripp played for the Hamburg Freezers, ERC Ingolstadt, the Kölner Haie, and the National team Germany before joining the NHL with the Avalanche in 1997.

Tripp played for the Avalanche for 6 seasons before being traded to the Calgary Flames in 2003. Tripp remained with the Flames until 2006 before being traded to the Washington Capitals. 

Tripp played for the Capitals for 3 seasons before being traded to the Florida Panthers in 2009. Tripp played for the Panthers until he retired in 2016.

Dean Morton was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1986 NHL Draft. Morton played for the Red Wings from 1988-1993. Morton scored 34 goals and added 89 assists in his NHL career. Morton also played in the World Hockey Championships, where he won a silver medal in 1990.

Lenarduzzi is a Canadian ice hockey player who is currently a forward for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lenarduzzi was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round, ninth overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

He played college hockey at the University of Michigan, where he was a two-time All-American and helped the Wolverines win the NCAA Championship in 1994. After graduating from Michigan, Lenarduzzi was signed by the Stars and made his NHL debut in 1995.

He is best known for his role as Police Constable Bob Switzer on the sitcom "The Great White Hype" and for his work on the sketch comedy show "The Kids in the Hall".

Redquest was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and was part of the first wave of Canadian comedians to make a name for themselves in the United States. 

Redquest is most famous for his role as Police Constable Bob Switzer on the sitcom "The Great White Hype" from 1985 to 1988.

He also starred in the sketch comedy show "The Kids in the Hall" from 1988 to 1998. Redquest has also appeared in a number of films, including "The Big Lebowski" and "The World's Fastest Indian".

Hank Nowak began his NHL career in 1972 with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 1976, he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers and played with them until 1982.

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006. He has two children, one of which is current NHL player, Brayden Schenn. Hank is a popular hockey commentator for Canadian television. In 2013, he was named one of the 100 Greatest Canadians.

Hank Nowak was a defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and Boston Bruins during his playing career. 

Nowak was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 87th overall during the 1970 NHL Draft. After playing for the Flyers for three seasons, Nowak was traded to the Boston Bruins in 1976.

Nowak spent the next six seasons with the Bruins, helping them to win four Stanley Cups in 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1984. Nowak retired from the NHL after the 1985 season. 

Nowak later served as the head coach of the Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League. Nowak was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998.

Final Words

The Oshawa Generals have had some of the best players in the history of the OHL. Some of the most notable players to wear the Generals jersey include Wayne Gretzky, Martin Brodeur, Sidney Crosby, and Carey Price.
