The Saint John Flames were a professional ice hockey team based in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, that competed in the American Hockey League from 1993 to 2003.

The Flames were affiliated with the National Hockey League’s Calgary Flames and provided a place for players to develop and hone their skills before making the jump to the NHL.

The team provided an exciting experience for all their fans, as they witnessed some of the best up and coming players in the sport.

Martin St. Louis is a retired professional ice hockey winger who played for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018 after a career that netted him 953 points in 1,430 games.

Martin had an illustrious NHL career which included seven All-Star appearances and two Stanley Cups with the Lightning (2004) and Canadiens (2006). After retiring as a player he became head coach of the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs before being appointed general manager of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017.

In 2019, he was named president/CEO of The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Married to actress Elisha Cuthbert with two children together - Maddie and Miles - Martin lives in Los Angeles where he enjoys surfing and golfing.

Wes Walz was born on May 15, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta. He played for the Boston Bruins between 1994 and 2001. Wes is known as a tough and physical centre who can score goals with either hand.

After leaving the NHL, Wes has turned his attention to coaching where he currently works in Switzerland's top league (NHL Europe). Wes is married with two children and enjoys spending time outdoors fishing or playing golfing when he's not working or travelling Wes Walz played for the Philadelphia Flyers from 1990 to 2007.

Darcy Verot was born on July 13, 1976 in Radville, Saskatchewan. He played for the Washington Capitals and AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before joining the Saint John Flames in 2007.

Darcy has scored 233 goals and 252 assists for 455 points in 906 career NHL games. Darcy is a left wing who shoots left and is known as an effective power player with good playmaking ability from the front of the net.

Darcy Verot was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 5th round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first professional season with their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. In 2000-01, he moved up to play for their top level ECHL team, Wheeling Nailers.

After two seasons there, Darcy signed a three year contract with HC CSKA Moscow of Russia's KHL league where he spent six seasons before retiring at age 33 following the 2014-15 season. 

Darcy finished his career having played over 1000 games in North American and European leagues combined – an impressive total for any player but especially noteworthy given that he never made it to an NHL game.

David Ling was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on January 9th 1975. He is a well-known Canadian actor and producer who has starred in many movies and television shows.

Ling is best known for his roles as Dr. Jack Shephard in the TV series "Lost" and Detective Constable Barry Frost on the show "Murdoch Mysteries".

Ling also produces films and has won several awards for his work in film industry including a Genie Award nomination for Best Motion Picture Producer - Drama at the 2004 Golden Globe Awards.

In 2013, he married actress Jenna Dewan Tatum after they had been dating since 2009. The couple have two children together: son Zen (born 2010) and daughter Everly (born 2012). 

David Ling currently resides in Los Angeles with his family David Ling was drafted 179th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1993. Ling played for the Nordiques from 1995-2002 before signing with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2003.

He has also played for the Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, and Vancouver Canucks over his career. David Ling currently plays for HC Davos of Switzerland's National League A (NLA). In 2009, he won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks as an Alternate Captain.

Tyler Moss is a former goaltender in the NHL. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 9th round of the 1995 draft. He played for Edmonton, Anaheim and Columbus before retiring in 2006-07.

After his retirement from playing hockey, Tyler became a goaltending coach with HC Sochi of Russia's KHL where he coached until 2012-13 when he moved to North America to become head goalie coach at Cleveland Monsters of AHL affiliate Syracuse Crunch Tyler Moss was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1995 NHL Draft.

He played for them until 2012. Tyler Moss is best known for playing with HC Spartak Moscow and the Vancouver Canucks, but he has also played for Carolina Hurricanes, Calgary Flames, and Amur Khabarovsk in Russia. Tyler Moss retired from hockey in 2012 after 14 seasons playing professionally.

Daniel Tkaczuk is a veteran player in the NHL, having played for Calgary Flames since 2007. He is known as an effective center who can score goals and distribute the puck effectively.

Daniel was a key part of Canada's gold medal-winning team at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, scoring two goals in seven games. Injuries have slowed down Daniel over recent years, but he remains one of the most talented players in the league.

The 43-year-old has announced his retirement from professional hockey after playing his last game for Calgary on April 8th 2019 against Edmonton Oilers Daniel Tkaczuk was drafted sixth overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1997 NHL Draft. 

Daniel played his entire professional career with HC Milano of the Italian Serie A before joining ERC Ingolstadt of Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga for the 2011-12 season.

In 604 regular season games, Daniel tallied 262 goals and 251 assists for 599 points; making him one of the highest-scoring defencemen in European hockey history. 

He also made 36 appearances in 42 playoff games, amassing 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points as HC Milano reached four consecutive Finals (2002–2006). 

After finishing his playing days with Nottingham Panthers of the English ice hockey league Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), Daniel joined Canada's National Men’s Team at the IIHF World Championships (2010) and won a bronze medal, being named Best Defenceman at both tournaments along the way.

Tyrone Garner is a professional Canadian football player who currently plays for the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Garner has played for the Edmonton Eskimos since they entered the CFL in 2001, and has been a part of their championship-winning teams in 2005 and 2006.

Garner has also played for the Baltimore Ravens and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Garner was born in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada in 1978.

Dany Sabourin is a goaltender who is currently playing for the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL. Sabourin was born in Val-d'Or, Quebec, Canada and he played youth hockey with the Val-d'Or Foreurs.

Sabourin attended the University of Vermont where he played for the Vermont Catamounts. Sabourin was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Sabourin made his NHL debut with the Canadiens in the 2005-06 season and he has played for the team ever since.

Sabourin has played in over 200 games in the NHL and he has recorded over 190 saves. Sabourin was named the Canadiens' starter for the 2007-08 season and he has continued to play in that role ever since. Sabourin was named the Canadiens' starter for the 2009-10 season and he led the team to the playoffs.

Sabourin signed a six-year contract extension with the Canadiens in the 2010-11 season.

Cory Cadden was an NHL goaltender who played for the Saint John Flames. Cory Cadden was born on February 21, 1969, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Cory Cadden died on September 8, 2017, at the age of 48.

Cory Cadden was 6'2" and weighed 194 pounds. Cory Cadden played in the AHL for the Saint John Flames. Cory Cadden caught left-handed. Cory Cadden was a goaltender who played in the NHL. Cory Cadden is survived by his wife and two children.

Cory Cadden was inducted into the Saint John Flames Hall of Fame in 2017. Cory Cadden was a defenseman for the Knoxville Cherokees of the ECHL for six seasons. 

Cory Cadden also played for the Dayton Bombers of the IHL for one season. Cory Cadden played in 232 games in the ECHL, scoring 31 goals and 101 assists.

Cory Cadden was drafted by the Detroit Vipers in the 7th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Cory Cadden did not sign with the Detroit Vipers and instead played college hockey at the University of Michigan. 

Cory Cadden played in 154 games for the Michigan Wolverines, scoring 16 goals and 44 assists. Cory Cadden was drafted by the Peoria Rivermen in the 4th round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Igor Karpenko is a professional goaltender who has played for Sokil Kyiv and various other teams in the Ukrainian Premier League. 

He is best known for his ability to save penalties and has been awarded the Ukrainian Premier League's Best Goalkeeper Award twice.

Igor Karpenko was born in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on July 23, 1976. He started playing hockey at the age of six and played for various teams in his home country before moving to Europe to play for Sokil Kyiv in 2002. 

Karpenko has been a regular starter for Sokil Kyiv since he joined the team and has helped them to qualify for European competition on more than one occasion.

He is known for his strong presence in goal and his ability to make key saves at crucial moments. Igor Karpenko is a member of the Ukrainian national team and has played in a number of international tournaments, including the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 European Championship.

 He retired from professional hockey in 2014 but continues to play for Sokil Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Scott Bailey is a Canadian football player who has played for the Calgary Stampeders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Bailey was drafted in the first round of the 1996 Canadian Football League Draft by the Calgary Stampeders.

Bailey played college football at the University of Utah. Bailey has won two Grey Cups with the Calgary Stampeders in 2000 and 2004. Bailey was named a CFL All-Star in 2001 and 2003. Bailey was signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2005. Bailey was released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2006.

Bailey signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2007. Bailey was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2010. Scott Bailey was a goaltender for the Boston Bruins from 1992 to 2004. 

He was drafted in the 112th overall spot in the 1992 NHL Draft. Bailey played in 292 games in his career, with a goals against average of 2.64 and a save percentage of .910.

Bailey was a two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Bruins. After his playing career, he became a goaltending coach for the Bruins.

Commodore retired after playing for the Devils in the 2014 NHL Season. Commodore was a physical forward who was known for his hard hitting play. 

Commodore is a two-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 and the Red Wings in 2008. Commodore is one of only four players in NHL history to win two Stanley Cup Championships with two different teams.

Commodore has also been awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, and the Lester B. Pearson Award. 

Commodore is currently a color commentator for the Hurricanes on Fox Sports Carolinas. Commodore is currently a hockey ambassador for the NHL and NHLPA.

Steve Montador was a talented defenceman who played in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks. He had a tragic death in February 2015 at the age of 35. Montador was known for his physical play and was a fan favourite with the Blackhawks.

He was a member of the Canadian national team and won a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Montador was also a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Blackhawks. 

His death has left the hockey community deeply saddened. Montador was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 2000 NHL Draft, but did not play in the NHL until 2006.

Montador played for the Mulhouse Scorpions, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, and Chicago Blackhawks over the course of his playing career. 

Montador was a key part of the Anaheim Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup Championship. Montador was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2014, and announced his retirement from the NHL that year.

Montador is a two-time All-Star and was inducted into the Anaheim Ducks' Hall of Fame in 2016.

15. Levente Szuper

Szuper began his career in the Hungarian Ice Hockey League with the St. John Flames in 2002. In 2007, he moved to the Worcester IceCats of the AHL. He made his debut in the NHL with the Calgary Flames in 2009.

Szuper spent three seasons with the Flames before signing a two-year contract with the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Elitserien in 2013. Szuper helped Malmö win the Swedish Championship in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he signed with the SEL's Örebro Lakers.

Szuper played in 36 games for Örebro in 2016-17 and recorded a .917 save percentage. Szuper signed a one-year contract extension with Örebro in May of 2017. 

In 2018, Szuper was traded to the St. John Flames. Levente Szuper was a highly skilled forward who played in the NHL for ten seasons.

Szuper was drafted in the 1996 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames. Szuper played for the Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks over the course of his career. Szuper was a key player for the Oilers during their run to the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. 

Szuper retired from the NHL in 2012. Szuper is currently a coach with the Hannover Scorpions in the German Hockey League.

Szuper was named the head coach of the Hungary national team in 2016. Szuper is a highly skilled forward who was a key part of several successful NHL teams. Szuper is currently a coach with the Hannover Scorpions in the German Hockey League.

16. Peter Aubry

Peter Aubry was born on May 19th, 1977 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Aubry is a professional ice hockey player who has played for several different teams throughout his career.

He most notably played for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2001 to 2009, where he won two Stanley Cups. Aubry currently plays for the Montreal Canadiens. Aubry has also represented Canada at several international tournaments.

In 2010, he was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice. Aubry is currently married and has two children. He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Aubry played in the NHL for six seasons, with the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, and Winnipeg Jets. He was a regular starter for most of his career, but was relegated to backup status in his last two seasons. 

Aubry is best known for his stellar play in the playoffs, where he has led his team to the playoffs in each of his six seasons.

Aubry is a graduate of the University of Maine. He was named to the AHL's Second All-Star Team in 2006. Aubry was traded to the Jets in 2010, and retired after the season. 

Aubry is a goalie coach for the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He is the son of hockey legend Michel Aubry. Aubry is married and has two children.

Jean-François Damphousse is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Damphousse was born in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, Quebec, Canada. He played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1998 to 2006 and for the Ottawa Senators from 2006 to 2010.

Damphousse was a member of the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics. He retired from professional ice hockey in 2010. Damphousse is currently a hockey coach and commentator.

He is married and has three children. Damphousse was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014. Damphousse is a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee. Damphousse was drafted 24th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1997 NHL Draft.

He played for the Devils for six seasons, before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004. After a season with the Lightning, he signed with the Montreal Canadiens in 2005.

Roland Melanson is a goaltender who played for the New York Islanders and Winnipeg Jets during his NHL career. Melanson was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada and played for the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL before being drafted by the Islanders in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft.

Melanson made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 1982 and played for them until 1985. He then signed with the Winnipeg Jets and played for them until 1992.

Marty Murray is a professional ice hockey centre who currently plays for the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League. Murray was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the second round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.

Dave Roche is a left wing player who has played for the Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres, and Colorado Avalanche in the NHL. Roche was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the first round, ninth overall, in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.

Gratton began his career in the QMJHL with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. He then moved on to play in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears and the Hartford Wolf Pack.

He finally made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2000-01 season. Gratton played for the Lightning, the Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, and the Phoenix Coyotes before retiring in 2013.

Gratton has won two Stanley Cups with the Lightning (2004, 2011) and two with the Canadiens (2003, 2007). He was also a part of the Canadian team that won the World Cup of Hockey in 2004. Gratton has two children and he currently resides in Montreal.

Blair Betts is a former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). Betts was originally drafted by the Hartford Wolf Pack in the third round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Betts spent eight seasons with the Wolf Pack before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in July 2010. Betts scored his first NHL goal on October 25, 2009 against the Buffalo Sabres. Betts was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in July 2010.

Christie then played in the AHL for the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Milwaukee Admirals. In October of 2009, Christie signed with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League.

He played for the Ice for two seasons and then retired in 2011. Christie then became an assistant coach for the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. In May of 2017, Christie was named the head coach of the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.

He has led the Generals to the playoffs in each of his three seasons as head coach. Christie was inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. Ryan Christie was drafted 112th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

François Groleau is a Canadian defender who has spent the majority of his career playing for Montreal Impact. Groleau started his career at the age of 17 with the Montreal Impact, making his debut in the 1996 season.
