Adrian Mutu is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Rapid București. He began his career at Argeș Pitești before moving to Dinamo București and then Inter Milan, where he won the Champions League in 2002.

After two seasons with Parma, Mutu joined Hellas Verona in 2003 where he helped the club reach the UEFA Cup Final that year. In 2007, Mutu signed for Fiorentina where he won another Serie A title in 2009–10 and was also named Serie A Player of the Year that season.

In June 2011, after nine years with Fiorentina, Mutu moved to Chelsea on a free transfer; however, he only made eight appearances for them before being loaned back to Fiorentina later that year.

On 5 January 2013, it was announced that Mutu had rejoined Rapid Bucureşti on a three-and-a-half-year contract following his release from Chelsea. Adrian Mutu has been capped 47 times by Romania and played at Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006.

Gheorghe Hagi is a Romanian football midfielder who played for several clubs in his career, most notably Farul Constanța and Luceafărul Bucureşti. He was part of the Romania national team that reached the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup.

After starting out at FC Constanţa, he spent two seasons at Luceafărul Bucureşti before rejoining FC Constanţa in 1982. In 1983 he helped his club reach the Romanian Cup final but they were defeated by CSA Steaua Bucharest. 

His form with FC Constanţa led to interest from abroad and he moved to Spain to play for Valencia CF in 1984–85 season where he won La Liga and Copa del Rey titles as well as being named Spanish Player of The Year awardee.

He then returned to Romania and signed for Dinamo Bucureşti where he remained until 1996 when he retired from professional football after playing 54 games for Dinamo (including 33 appearances in UEFA Champions League). 

In 2006, Gheorghe Hagi was voted 14th greatest footballer ever by French magazine L’Equipe.[2] During his international career, Hagi made 94 appearances scoring 28 goals. 

He represented Romania at Euro 1988,[3] Euro 1992 Euro 1996,[5] South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.

Alexandru Cicâldău was born on July 8, 1997 in Satu Nou, Romania. He started his career with his hometown club Ittihad Kalba and played for them until he joined Galatasaray on loan in January 2019.

Alexandru is a midfielder who can play as either a central or attacking midfielder. He has been capped at the youth level by Romania and made his senior debut in 2018 against Hungary U21s.

Bölöni joined AS Târgu Mureș in 1970 and played for the club until 1984. He then moved to Steaua București, where he played for two seasons. In 1987, he signed for Racing Jet Wavre.

He then moved to France to play for Orléans. In 1992, he retired from professional football. Bölöni has since been manager of Metz. He has also been a coach at various youth levels. He is currently a member of the Romanian Football Federation's technical committee.

He has been a regular international for his country since 1978. Bölöni was born in 1975 in Romania and played for 102 international caps for his country from 1975 to 1988. 

Bölöni played for Nancy from 1994 to 2000, before joining Sporting CP in Portugal. Bölöni played for Rennes from 2003 to 2006, before moving to Monaco in 2007.

Răzvan Raț is a Romanian football defender who has played for several clubs, most notably Rapid Piatra-Olt, FC U Craiova and Sporting Pitești. 

Raț made his international debut for Romania in a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Bulgaria and has since played at the World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.

After leaving his home country to play football in Romania, Raț found success with Rapid Piatra-Olt, FC U Craiova and Sporting Pitești before moving to England to play for Championship side West Bromwich Albion.

Chivu has played for various clubs in his homeland, including Inter Milan, Dynamo Kiev, and Steaua București, before arriving in Italy in 2010. Chivu has made over 150 appearances in the Italian Serie A, and is currently Inter Milan's captain.

Mirel Rădoi is a Romanian footballer who currently plays for Al-Tai in the Saudi Professional League. Rădoi started his career at Drobeta-Turnu Severin and played for Extensiv Craiova before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2000.

Rădoi is a versatile midfielder who is known for his strong defending and accurate passing. Rădoi is a regular for Romania and has played at the 2010 World Cup and the 2014 World Cup. Rădoi is a free agent after leaving Al-Tai at the end of the 2017–18 season.

Gheorghe Popescu is a Romanian footballer who played as a sweeper, centre back and midfielder. He began his career at Dunărea Calafat in 1975 and went on to play for Universitatea Craiova before joining Farul Constanța in 1984.

He made his debut for the Romania national team in 1988 and went on to make 83 appearances. He retired from playing in 2001, but rejoined the squad in 2006 and has since made 11 appearances. He is currently the chairman of Farul Constanța.

Petrescu was born in 1967 in Bucharest, Romania and began his career at Steaua București. He moved to Italy to play for Foggia and then to England to play for Sheffield Wednesday.

He returned to Romania to manage CFR Cluj. Petrescu is a full-back and winger who is known for his attacking play. He has made over 300 appearances in the Romanian top division.

Mircea Lucescu is a former Romanian football player who is currently the manager of Dynamo Kyiv. Lucescu is one of the most decorated players in Romanian football history, having won a total of five league titles and two Romanian Cups with Dinamo București.

He also represented his country at the 1990 World Cup, where he scored one goal in a group stage loss to the United States. Lucescu retired from professional football in 1992, but later came out of retirement to play for FC Vaslui in the Romanian First League.

He is currently the president of the Romanian Football Federation. Lucescu was born on July 29, 1945 in Bucharest, Romania. Lucescu holds a degree in physical education from the Școala Sportivă 2 București and began his professional career with Dinamo București in 1963.

Dobrin was one of the most talented attacking midfielders in Romanian football during the 1970s and early 1980s. He played for several top Romanian clubs, including Argeș Pitești, FCM Târgovişte and CS Botoșani, before retiring in 1986.

Dobrin was born in Pitești in 1947 and died there in 2007 at the age of 60. Dobrin was an attacking midfielder who was known for his technical abilities and powerful shots. 

He was a key member of Argeș Pitești and helped the club to win the Romanian Cup in 1974 and the Romanian League title in 1978.

Dobrin also represented Romania at international level, playing 45 times between 1969 and 1982. Dobrin was highly respected by his peers and was often referred to as the "Romanian Zidane".

Bogdan Lobonț was born in Hunedoara, Romania in 1978. Lobonț started his career with Corvinul Hunedoara in 1991. He played for the club until 1997. Lobonț made his debut for Romania in a 2010 World Cup qualifier against Israel.

Miodrag Belodedici is a Romanian former footballer who played as a sweeper. He most notably played for Steaua București, Valencia and Villarreal. Belodedici retired from professional football in 1996.

Belodedici is now a football coach. Belodedici was born in Soloc, Romania in 1964. He began his career with Minerul Moldova Nouă in 1978. He then played for Luceafărul București from 1981 to 1982. Belodedici transferred to Red Star Belgrade in 1989.

He spent three seasons with the club before joining Valencia in 1992. Belodedici is the son of former footballer Ilie Belodedici. He has two daughters, one of whom is a football player herself.

 Miodrag Belodedici was one of the most successful defenders in Romania’s history, winning 28 caps and scoring five goals for his country.

After starting his career at Romanian side Universitatea Craiova, Belodedici moved to Steaua București in 1984 and soon became one of the club’s all-time greats.

Munteanu was a midfielder for Metalul Bocșa and CSM Reșița in Romania before joining Oțelul Galați in 1996. He helped the Galați side to win the Romanian Cup in 1998 and reached the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semifinals in 1999.

Munteanu then moved to Russian side Mordovia Saransk in 2003, where he helped the club to win the Russian Cup in 2004. 

He retired from playing in 2005, but returned to coaching the following year. Munteanu was appointed manager of Oțelul Galaȣi in January 2013, but was sacked in October of that year.

He has since been coaching at his former club Mordovia Saransk. Munteanu is married and has two children. He is a Roman Catholic. Munteanu is 54 years old. 

Dorinel Munteanu is a Romanian football manager who most recently managed Universitatea Cluj. Dorinel Munteanu was most recently the manager of Steaua București, but was fired in September of 2012.

Răzvan Marin was born in 1996 in Bucharest, Romania. He joined Pro Luceafărul București in 2002 and made his senior debut in 2009. In the 2016–17 season, Marin joined Cagliari on loan and made 37 appearances and scored six goals.

He rejoined Cagliari in the summer of 2018 and has played in 25 appearances for them so far this season. He has been capped by Romania at under-19, under-21, and senior level. Marin is a midfielder and is currently playing for Empoli on loan from Cagliari.

Marius Lăcătuș started his career at Brașov in 1977. He moved to Steaua București in 1983 and played for them until 1990. He then moved to Fiorentina and played for them for two seasons before returning to Steaua.

Lăcătuș then played for Real Oviedo for two seasons before joining Național București. He retired from professional football in 2000.

Ilie Balaci was a Romanian footballer who played as a midfielder. Balaci started his career at Universitatea Craiova, before signing for Dinamo București in 1988.

He won three Romanian League titles with Dinamo, as well as two Romanian Cups. Balaci played 36 international games for Romania, scoring one goal. Balaci retired in 1990, after playing for Drobeta Turnu-Severin.

He later died in 2018 at the age of 62. Ilie Balaci is a Romanian football manager and former player. He played as a left-back for Pandurii Târgu Jiu and Drobeta Turnu-Severin. Balaci was appointed manager of Romanian side Astra Giurgiu in December 2014. He led Astra Giurgiu to promotion to the Liga I in his first season in charge.

He left Astra Giurgiu in July 2016 to take over as manager of Al-Nassr. He led Al-Nassr to the 2017 AFC Champions League knockout stage. Balaci was sacked by Al-Nassr in November 2017.

Gavril Balint is a Romanian football forward who played for Steaua București, Real Burgos and Gloria Bistrița. Balint began his career with Hebe Sângeorz-Băi before joining Luceafărul București in 1978.

He made his Real Burgos debut in 1990 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the side. Balint retired from professional football in 1993. Balint is currently involved in coaching, having worked with several youth teams.

Duckadam was born in Semlac, Romania in 1959. He started his career with Semlac in 1974 and played for them until 1977. He then went to Gloria and played for them until 1981.

He then moved to Germany and played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1981 to 1984. He then moved to Austria and played for LASK Linz from 1984 to 1988. He then moved to Italy and played for A.C.

Milan from 1988 to 1991. He then moved to Spain and played for Atlético Madrid from 1991 to 1994. He then moved to the United States and played for the New England Revolution from 1994 to 1998.

He then moved to Romania and played for Steaua Bucureşti from 1998 to 2003. Helmuth Duckadam was born on July 10, 1961 in Arad, Romania. Duckadam started his senior career with UTA Arad in 1977 and played for the club until 1982.

Duckadam then had a two-year spell with Steaua București where he made 80 appearances and scored one goal. Duckadam then had a short spell with Vagonul Arad before joining Romania's national team in 1981. He made four appearances for the U21 side before retiring from international football.

Duckadam later became a manager and was in charge of FC Constractorul Arad between 2006 and 2007. Duckadam is currently the head coach of Liga III side CSM Iași. 

Duckadam is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and has also worked as a assistant coach with the Romanian national team. Duckadam has won two Romanian league titles with Constractorul Arad and was also the Romanian Cup runner-up in 2006.

Emerich Jenei is a Romanian defensive midfielder who played for Steaua Bucureşti and Kayserispor in the 1970s. Jenei was born in 1937 in Agrișu Mic, Arad.

Radu Nunweiller is a Romanian midfielder who played for Dinamo Bucureşti and Corvinul Hunedoara during his career. He was born in Bucharest in 1944 and started his career with Tânarul Dinamovist.

He made his debut for Dinamo in the 1962–1963 season and played for the club until 1979. During his time at Dinamo, he won several titles, including the Romanian Cup in 1975 and the Romanian Supercup in 1977.

He also played for the Romania national team, making his debut in 1966 and playing at the World Cup in 1970 and the European Championship in 1972. After retiring from football, Nunweiller worked as a football coach and later served as the president of the Romanian Football Federation.

He passed away on 16 November 2018 at the age of 78. Radu Nunweiller was a Romanian international football player who played for Romania in the 1966 FIFA World Cup and the 1974 FIFA World Cup. 

He also played for clubs in Romania and Switzerland. Nunweiller began his managerial career in 1981, working as a coach for Martigny-Sports in Switzerland.

He later moved to Lausanne-Sport, where he was assistant manager to Michel Platini. Nunweiller took over as manager of Yverdon-Sport in 2009, leading the team to the Swiss Super League championship in his first season. 

He left Yverdon-Sport in 2010, and later became caretaker manager of Neuchâtel Xamax. Nunweiller was born in Sibiu, Romania, in April 1958.

He died in February 2016 at the age of 60.
