The Rockford IceHogs are an American Hockey League team based in Rockford, Illinois. Founded in 2007, the IceHogs are the top minor-league affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, playing their home games at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Brandon Hagel was born on August 27, 1998 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is 5'11" and 170 pounds. Brandon plays left wing for the Ottawa Senators organization and has recorded 12 goals and 24 assists in 82 games played as of February 18th 2019.

Brandon also competed with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships where he tallied 2 goals and 3 assists in 7 games played to help them win a silver medal overall. 

Outside of hockey, Brandon attended university at Harvard University where he majored in Government & International. Affairs with a minor in Economics before returning to play for the Ottawa Senators this past season after completing his degree requirements earlier this year.

Brandon Hagel is a defenseman for the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted 159th overall by the team in 2016. He has played with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks previously but is currently playing with the Sabres. 

Brandon Hagel has represented Canada at several international tournaments including the World Junior Championships and the World Championship. In 2019, he signed an extension with the Sabres that will keep him in Buffalo until 2024.

Lukas Reichel was born on May 17, 2002 in Nuremberg, Germany. He is a left wing player and stands at 6 feet 0 inches tall. Lukas has a BMI of 18 and weights 176 pounds (80 kilograms).

He made his professional debut with the Eintracht Frankfurt U19 team in 2016 after impressing scouts while playing for their youth academy program. 

In August 2017, he joined Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season where he made seven appearances before returning to Frankfurt at the end of December 2017 due to injury concerns.

However, he quickly returned to training with RB Leipzig and featured prominently in their first eleven matches of 2018–19 pre-season as they entered into European competition for the first time since the 2013–14 qualifying stage.

This culminated in qualification for UEFA Europa League group stage where they finished 2nd behind Atlético Madrid scoring 15 goals along way including an impressive hat trick against champions Juventus.

On October 10th, 2019 it was announced that Lukas had signed permanently with RB Leipzig from Eintracht Frankfurt making him Germany's second youngest-ever signing after Leroy Sané who also transferred from Hamburg when.

He was just 16 years old but never played professionally other than two spells at amateur side Rot-Weiss Ahlen before joining Schalke 04 aged 19 years 253 days later.

Alec Regula is a young and talented defender who has been playing for the Michigan Wolverines since his freshman year. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2016, after starting all 12 games at defensive end and recording 39 tackles, 6 sacks and 2 interceptions.

As a sophomore, Alec again started all twelve games for the Wolverines defense and led them with 66 tackles (26 solo), 10 sacks, 1 interception returned for a touchdown, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 forced fumbles. 

In 2018 he was once again one of the key defenders on Michigan's team as they made it to their fourth consecutive College Football Playoff appearance but were eventually knocked out by Alabama in the semifinal round.

Alec also played rugby during high school which helped him develop his strength and stamina which he put to good use when playing football professionally; he reportedly bench presses more than 500 pounds. 

Alec will be an important part of Michigan's defense as they look to repeat as national champions next season.

Dave Gust is a 28-year old American football player who plays for the Chicago Bears. He was born in Orland Park, Illinois and attended Northwest High School in Naperville, Illinois.

Dave played college football at the University of Wisconsin where he earned First-Team All Big Ten honors as a senior in 2016 after recording 141 tackles, 5 interceptions and 2 sacks.

In the 2017 NFL Draft, Gust was selected by the Chicago Bears with the 184th overall pick and signed with them shortly afterwards on May 12th. 

After making his professional debut in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, Dave recorded his first career interception during their game against Jacksonville Jaguars later that same week; this led to him being named AFC Defensive Player of The Week (Week 3).

On September 10th 2018 he suffered an ACL tear while playing against Green Bay Packers which ended his season prematurely due to injury; however it has since been announced that he will return for 2019 campaign.

Matthew Highmore is a 26-year old centre/left wing currently playing with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. He was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012, but opted to stay in Canada and play for the Halifax Mooseheads instead.

In 2018, he signed an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks and made his NHL debut that season. After appearing in just 8 games for Chicago, Highmore was traded to the IceHogs at the deadline of 2018–19 season where he has since been a regular starter on their roster.

Sikura is a centre for the Chicago Blackhawks. Sikura was drafted in the third round, 73rd overall by the Blackhawks in 2014. He scored his first NHL goal on October 11th, 2017 against Michal Neuvirth of the Philadelphia Flyers.

In 2018 he led all rookies with 33 points (13 goals and 20 assists). Sikura has represented Canada at both the World Junior Championships (2013) and IIHF World Championship (2017). 

Dylan Sikura is a left-handed shooter who has played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Rockford IceHogs, and Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL.

Evan Brophey is a 36-year-old Canadian centre who has played for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2005 and has since appeared in over 550 regular season games, scoring 85 goals and adding 131 assists.

In 2013, he won his first Stanley Cup as part of the Chicago team that defeated Boston in six games.

Martin St. Pierre was born on August 11, 1983 in Embrun, Ontario. He is a left-handed shot and played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, and Oulun Kärpät.

He has won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks, and two with the Bruins. He was selected to the Eastern Conference All-Star team in 2009 and 2010. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team Canada. Martin is married to Joanne and has two children.

He is a philanthropist and has donated money to charity. He is a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee. 

Martin is a popular figure in Canada and is often seen in public events. Martin St. Pierre was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1994. He played for the EC Red Bull Salzburg junior team before joining the Montreal Canadiens in 2004.

Pierre-Cedric Labrie is a 36-year-old right winger who has played in the NHL for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Labrie has spent the majority of his career playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

In 2006, he was drafted 34th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He made his NHL debut in the 2007-08 season and has since played for the Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Adam Clendening is a defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was drafted by the Penguins in the 2nd round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Clendening played college hockey at Yale University.

He was a two-time All-American and a Hobey Baker Award finalist in his senior season. Clendening was drafted by the Penguins in the 2nd round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Penguins in the 2013-14 season.

Brandon Pirri was born in Toronto, Ontario and played hockey for the minor hockey team of the Toronto Marlies. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Pirri made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in 2010 and scored his first NHL goal in a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. He played for the Blackhawks for four seasons before being traded to the Florida Panthers in 2014.

Pirri spent two seasons with the Panthers before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks in 2017. He played for the Ducks for two seasons before being traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019. Pirri has played in 164 NHL games and has scored 36 goals and added 43 assists.

Jeremy Morin is a left wing for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Morin played college hockey for the Harvard Crimson.

Morin has represented the United States at both the World Junior Championships and the World Championships. Morin scored his first NHL goal on December 20, 2010, against the Nashville Predators. He has appeared in 216 NHL games, scoring 28 goals and adding 38 assists.

Morin was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in February 2017. Morin was waived by the Canadiens in February 2018. Morin signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in May 2018. Jeremy Morin was drafted 45th overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Draft.

He played with the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, HC Yugra, and HPK before joining the SC Bern of the Swiss National League in 2018.

Morin retired from professional hockey after playing with the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2018-19 season.

Ben Smith was born in 1988 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Smith played hockey growing up and decided to pursue a career in the sport after high school.

He attended college at the EHC München in Germany and played for their senior team in 2016-17. Smith was signed by the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers as a free agent in 2017.

He made his NHL debut with the Flyers in 2017-18 and scored his first NHL goal in his second game. Smith played for the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, in 2018-19.

In the off-season, Smith was traded to the Colorado Avalanche and played in the NHL for the first time in 2019-20. Smith finished the season with the Avalanche, scoring six goals and seven assists in 53 games.

Smith was traded to the Florida Panthers in the off-season, and played in all 82 games for them in 2020-21.

Mark McNeill is a Canadian center who has played in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks. McNeill was drafted by the Blackhawks in the 2nd round, 47th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

McNeill made his NHL debut in the 2014-15 season. In the 2016-17 season, McNeill was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. 

In the 2017-18 season, McNeill was nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

Nicolas Beaudin is a defenceman for the Calgary Flames. He was drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Flames in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Beaudin played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2017-18.

He was named to the QMJHL First All-Star Team and was named to the QMJHL All-Rookie Team. Beaudin was born in Châteauguay, Quebec. He played youth hockey for the Val-d'Or Foreurs.

 Beaudin represented Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship. He scored two goals and was named to the Canadian team for the 2019 World Junior Championship.

Michael Leighton is a goaltender who has played for the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins in the NHL. Leighton was drafted by the Senators in the first round, 19th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Dowell played his first professional season with the EHC Black Wings Linz in Austria. Dowell made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks in 2006. Dowell played for the Blackhawks for eight seasons. Dowell was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2013. Dowell played for the Dallas Stars for four seasons. Dowell was traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2017.

Chris DiDomenico was born in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada on February 20, 1989. DiDomenico played college hockey at Bowling Green State University and then signed with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

DiDomenico was called up to the NHL in 2011 and has played for the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders, and Los Angeles Kings. In 2016, DiDomenico signed a two-year contract with HC Sochi of the Kontinental Hockey League.

DiDomenico has won two Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015 and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2015. DiDomenico is married to actress and model Jenna Dewan Tatum and they have two children. 

DiDomenico is a member of the Canadian national team and has played in the Olympics, World Championships, and World Cup.

Brian Connelly is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL). 

Brian Connelly started his career with the Houston Aeros of the AHL in 2009. In 2013, Brian Connelly was called up to the NHL to play with the Pittsburgh Penguins. After playing with the Penguins for two seasons, Brian Connelly was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in 2015.

Brian Connelly has also played for the Iowa Wild, Leksands IF, and EC Red Bull Salzburg in the AHL. Brian Connelly has never played in the NHL playoffs. Daňo was born in Eisenstadt, Austria, on November 30th, 1994. He played juniors in his home country before being drafted in the second round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Daňo made his NHL debut in the 2014-15 season and has since played for the Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, and Buffalo Sabres. Daňo has also played for the Austrian national team and represented his country at the World Juniors and the World Championships.

Daňo is a left-winger who is known for his speed and scoring ability. In 201 At just 18 years old, Marko Daňo has already played in the Slovak Extraliga and the Kontinental Hockey League. In his first season in the KHL, Daňo put up 26 points in 51 games with HC Oceláři Třinec.

The Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Daňo in the 27th overall spot in the 2013 NHL Draft. Daňo made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in the 2014-15 season. In his first full season in the NHL, Daňo had 20 points in 68 games. The Blue Jackets traded Daňo to the Chicago Blackhawks in the off season.

In his first season with the Blackhawks, Daňo had 11 points in 28 games. Daňo signed a two-year contract extension with the Blackhawks in the off season. Daňo is currently playing with the Winnipeg Jets.

Marcus Krüger was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 27th, 1990. Krüger played his youth hockey in his home country before coming over to the United States to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin.

After two seasons with the Badgers, Krüger was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. 

Krüger played his first NHL game in 2009-10 and has since played in over 500 games, scoring 109 goals and adding 137 assists for 268 points.

Krüger was named to the NHL All-Star Game in 2013 and was also nominated for the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie in 2009-10. 

On July 1st, 2017, Krüger signed a six-year contract extension with the Blackhawks. In 2018-19, Krüger led the Blackhawks in points and was named the team's captain.

Marcus Krüger is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team Sweden. Krüger is an accomplished leader both on and off the ice, and he is a major component of the Chicago Blackhawks' success over the past decade.

Collin Delia was born on June 20, 1994 in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He is 6'2" tall and played for the IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2018.

Delia has committed to play college hockey for the Boston College Eagles in 2019. In 2017, Delia was named the AHL's Top Defenseman. He has also played for the San Diego Gulls of the AHL and the Rockford IceHogs of the NHL.

Delia was drafted by the San Diego Gulls in the 7th round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Delia signed with the IceHogs on July 1, 2018. He made his NHL debut on October 6, 2018. Collin Delia is a two-time AHL All-Star and was awarded the Ted Lindsay Award in 2018.

Lalonde signed with the Eisbären Berlin of the KHL in the fall of 2016. Lalonde has appeared in 154 KHL games, scoring 8 goals and 32 assists. Lalonde was awarded the Captain's C-J-S-A- with Eisbären Berlin at the conclusion of the 2017-2018 season. Lalonde is of French-Canadian descent.

Lalonde is married and has a young son. Lalonde is a right-handed defenceman. Lalonde was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 68th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.

LeBlanc was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1988. He is 5 ft 11 in tall and has a weight of 207 lb. LeBlanc was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

He has played for the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Providence Bruins, the Boston Bruins, and the Montreal Canadiens. LeBlanc was signed to a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on July 1st, 2013.

He scored his first NHL goal on October 1st, 2013 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. LeBlanc was traded to the Boston Bruins on February 28th, 2017 in exchange for Jaroslav Halak. 

He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on July 1st, 2017 in exchange for Michael McCarron.

LeBlanc was re-signed by the Montreal Canadiens to a two-year contract on July 1st, 2019. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 186th overall pick of the 2006 NHL Draft. 

He played his first professional season in the Swedish Elite League with Rögle BK in 2010-11.

He then made the jump to North America and played with the Washington Capitals for two seasons. In 2013-14, he signed with HPK of the Finnish Elite League. 

In 2015-16, he moved to Fife Flyers of the Scottish Elite League. In the 2016-17 season, he signed with EK Zell am See of the Austrian Hockey League.

He finished his playing career in 2017-18 with HPK of the Finnish Elite League. He has since joined the Chicago Blackhawks as an assistant coach.

Final Words

The Rockford IceHogs have had a number of successful players throughout their history, but certain players have stood out more than others. Some of the IceHogs’ all-time best players include Corey Crawford, Brad Richards, Bryan Bickell, and Dave Bolland.

These players have been instrumental in the team’s success, and their contributions cannot be overstated.
