Club Universidad Nacional, commonly referred to as Pumas and UNAM, is a professional football club based in Mexico City, Mexico. Founded in 1954, they compete in the Liga MX, the top division in the Mexican football league system.

In addition to their on-field success, the club is known for their commitment to developing youth players, and has produced some of the most successful Mexican footballers in recent years.

Hugo Sánchez is a Mexican football forward who played for Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid, and América. He started his career with UNAM before moving to Atlético Madrid in 1981.

After a spell at Rayo Vallecano, he joined America in 1994 but only made 11 appearances for the club. In 1995 he signed for Atlante where he retired from playing later that year.

Hugo Sánchez was part of the Mexico national team squad that won the 1986 World Cup and the 1990 Confederations Cup as well as finishing runner-up at both tournaments respectively.

He has also represented his country at two Olympic Games (1980 and 1984). 

Shortly after retiring from playing, Hugo Sánchez went into management with CD Tenerife in Spain's second-division championship season of 2007–2008. He currently works as an ambassador for Adidas.

Sebastián Sosa is a goalkeeper who has played for Peñarol and UNAM. Sebastián Sosa was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on August 19th, 1986. Sebastián Sosa began his career with Central Español before joining Peñarol in 2007.

In 2011, Sebastián Sosa joined UNAM and he has since been a starter for the team. Sebastián Sosa currently plays for UNAM and is their number one goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa is a versatile midfielder who has played for several clubs in his native Argentina.

He was loaned out to Zacatecas and Rosario Central in 2016, but failed to make an impact with either side. 

In 2017 he moved to Morelia and has since made 96 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals. Sosa represented Uruguay at youth level before making his senior debut in 2003.

Luis Fuentes is a Mexican left-back who currently plays for América. He has played for several clubs throughout his career, including Pachuca, Atlante and UNAM.

In 2016 he won the CONCACAF Champions League with UNAM. Fuentes was born in Chetumal, Quintana Roo and represented Mexico at youth level before making his senior international debut in 2009.

Luis Fuentes is a Mexican footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga MX club Monterrey. He has played for UNAM since 2007 and made 257 appearances, scoring six goals over the course of his career.

In 2017, he joined Monterrey on loan from UNAM and made 25 appearances before returning to his parent club in 2018.

Alan Mozo is a Mexican footballer who currently plays for Guadalajara. He started his youth career with Club America before moving to Guadalajara in 2016.

Alan is primarily known as a right-back, but has also played at centre-back and left midfield on occasion. Alan made his senior debut in 2018, playing against Santos Laguna in the Copa MX Finals.

In 2017, he was named Liga MX Young Player of the Year after being voted by fellow players and coaches throughout the season. Outside of football, Alan studies law at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Mozo is also capable on the international stage, having made four appearances for Mexico's U21 side in 2018 and helping them to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Dani Alves is a Brazilian defender who has played for Barcelona and Sevilla. Dani Alves made his professional debut with Bahia in 2001, before moving to Spain to play for Sevilla the following year.

Aldrete started his career at Morelia and played there until he was loaned to Dorados in 2006. He made a return to Morelia in 2012, where he currently plays for UNAM.

Aldrete is known as a good left-back and has won several accolades during his career, most notably the 2011 Apertura title with Morelia. Aldrete also represented Mexico at Under-17 level before making his debut for the senior team in 2010 against Chile.

He has been capped 25 times by Mexico and participated in two World Cups (2010 and 2014).

In January 2020, Aldrete joined UNAM as a free agent after terminating his contract with Cruz Azul following their relegation from La Liga; however, he left the club less than six months later without playing a single game for them.
