Tom Lockyer is a Welsh international footballer who currently plays for Luton Town. Tom had his professional debut with Cardiff City in 2012 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the club before joining Luton Town in January 2019.

A centre-back by trade, Tom has also spent time out on loan at Bradford City and Newport County during his career so far. 

Born in Cardiff, Wales, Tom started playing football for local side Vale of Glamorgan before moving up to Cardiff City's academy in 2010 where he made his first-team debut aged 17 years old later that year against Norwich City. 

After making over 100 appearances for the Bluebirds, including winning promotion from League One with them as champions in 2015,[6] Thomas joined league rivals Luton Town on 1 January 2019[7].

Lockyer was born in Cardiff, Wales and started his career at Cardiff City. He made his senior debut for Bristol Rovers in 2012 and went on to play 255 league games for the club before joining Charlton Athletic in 2019.

Dasilva started his career at Chelsea, playing for their youth teams from 2007-2012. He made his professional debut in the EFL Cup against Leeds United on 25 October 2016 and scored a goal in the 2-1 victory.

Dasilva signed with Bristol City on 1 July 2017.[2] Jay Dasilva joined Chelsea from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2017 and has since made 79 appearances for Bristol City. Fred Hawkes was born in Luton, England in 1881. He was a talented footballer and played for Luton Town, Newcastle United, and Chelsea. He also played for the England national team and was a part of the side that won the World Cup in 1934.

In retirement, Fred Hawkes became a coach and managed several teams, including Chelsea and Fulham.

He died in 1984 at the age of 73 after a long illness. Fred Hawkes is recognised as one of the club's most famous players, and is remembered as a true inspiration to Luton Town fans.

He is also a member of the Luton Town Hall of Fame. The Fred Hawkes Trophy is awarded to the player of the season at Luton Town. Fred Hawkes is one of the most successful English footballers of the 20th century.

Kevin Nicholls is a former English footballer who played as a midfielder. Nicholls started his career at Charlton Athletic, before joining Liverpool in 2001.

He spent four years at Anfield, before moving to West Ham United in 2005. Nicholls spent three years at the Hammers, before joining QPR in 2009. Nicholls spent two seasons at QPR, before joining Southampton in 2011.

Brian Stein is a South African forward who played for Luton Town and Caen. He was born in Cape Town in 1957 and began his career at Edgware Town. Stein moved to England in 1988 and joined Luton Town.

He made 388 appearances for the club and was a key player during their successful period in the early 1990s. He retired from playing in 1990, but returned to the game in 1997 as manager of Caen. He led the club to second-place in the French league, but they were relegated at the end of the season.

Stein resumed his playing career in 2003 as manager of Scottish club Dunfermline Athletic. He left the club in 2006 after just two months in charge. Stein has since worked as a football commentator and is currently the manager of the Cape Town-based club Wits University. He is married and has two children.

Glen Rea is a 28-year-old English footballer who currently plays for Cheltenham Town on loan from Luton Town. He previously played for Brighton & Hove Albion and was part of the team that won the Championship title in 2013.

Rea is a defensive midfielder and is known for his strong tackling and reading of the game. Rea made his professional debut with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2013 and has since played for Luton Town, Cheltenham Town and Birmingham City.

David Moss started his career at Witney Town before moving to Swindon Town. Moss was a prolific winger during his youth career, scoring 34 goals in 58 appearances.

He made his professional debut in 1971 and went on to make 191 appearances for Swindon. Moss played for the England national team, scoring 36 goals in 74 appearances.

Syd Owen was born in 1922 in Aston, Birmingham, England. He played for the Birmingham YMCA as a youngster and then for Birmingham City. Owen was a centre half for most of his career and was capped by England.

He retired from playing in the early 1960s and later worked as a coach. Syd Owen died in 1998 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. He was a respected member of the English football community and was highly regarded by his peers.

Branston then transferred to Nuneaton Borough in 1973 where he played a total of 44 games and scored 3 goals.

48. John Moore

Final Words

Luton’s Best Players of All Time have been some of the most successful in the club’s history, with many of them going on to have successful careers outside of Luton.

Some of the most famous names to wear the blue and white stripes include Gary Lineker, Kerry Dixon, Kevin Phillips, Les Ferdinand and Mark Fish. With so many great players to choose from, it is hard to single out just one as the best, but whoever that may be, they will always be remembered as one of Luton Town’s greatest players.
