The Wisconsin Badgers football team is one of the most successful college football programs in the nation. Established in 1889, the Wisconsin Badgers have won three National Championships, 13 Big Ten Championships and have appeared in the Rose Bowl 25 times.

Boasting a rich history of success, the Badgers have featured some of the greatest college football players of all time including Heisman Trophy winners Alan Ameche, Ron Dayne and Montee Ball.

The Badgers have achieved great success over the years and continue to compete at a high level in the Big Ten Conference.

Watt is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and was named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2017. He has also been selected to five Pro Bowls and two Second Team All-Pro teams.

Watt holds the record for most sacks in a single season with 29 in 2015. J.J. Watt played college football at Central Michigan before being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2011 J.J. 

Watt is one of the most decorated and accomplished players in NFL history, having won numerous awards including a Bert Bell Award, Lott Trophy, First-team All-American, and two Pro Bowls. 

The Houston Texans superstar has recorded 580 tackles, 111 sacks, 69 passes deflected, and 27 forced fumbles in his impressive career to date. 

In 2018 he became the co-leader in Forced Fumbles with New York Giants linebacker Olivier Vernon while also being named an AP first-team All-Pro for the third time in his career - cementing him as one of the greatest defensive players ever to play the game.

J.J. Watt's work ethic was once again on display this season when he missed just one game due to injury despite playing through back surgery earlier in the year which many thought would end his career prematurely. 

His determined attitude and unyielding passion for football have seen him become a role model both on and off the field for young athletes all over America.

2. Lee Evans

Lee Evans was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played for them from 2004-2010 before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011.

Lee Evans is a wide receiver and spent his entire career with the Buffalo Bills. In 2010, he had a breakout season with 95 receptions for 1,313 yards and nine touchdowns.

After two seasons in Baltimore, Lee signed with Jacksonville Jaguars on March 11th, 2012 but only lasted one season there before retiring at age 36 after struggling to find playing time behind Cecil Shorts III and Allen Hurns among others.

Lee Evans is known as one of the most explosive players in NFL history due to his ability to jump high and catch long passes despite his relatively small frame (5'10" tall and 197 pounds). 

His finishing moves are legendary – most notably "The Jumping Chest Kick," which he used against Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor during their playoff matchup back in 2009: WatchESPN/121426976 Overall, Lee Evans ranks 7th all-time in receiving yards (15,098) and 4th all-time in touchdown catches (124).

He's also been named to three Pro Bowls throughout his career – including 2006 when he led all receivers with 96 receptions for 1,430 yards and 10 touchdowns. Lee Evans is a proven NFL receiver who has enjoyed success both in the regular season and the postseason. 

He was twice named First-team All-Big Ten and totaled over 6,000 receiving yards and 43 touchdowns in his career. Evans also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals before retiring in 2017.

Joe Thomas is a veteran NFL tackle who has spent his entire career with the Cleveland Browns. He was drafted by Cleveland in 2007 and has played there for six seasons, winning two championship rings.

Joe is known as one of the best blocking linemen in the league and is a big part of why the Browns have been successful over the years. In 2017, he announced that he would be retiring at the end of that season after 14 years in professional football.

Joe Thomas is a 10-time Pro Bowler and 2-time Second Team All-Pro. Joe Thomas was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2007 and has remained with the team ever since. Joe Thomas has been an anchor for Brown's offensive line, playing in 167 games over his career thus far.

Joe Thomas is considered one of, if not the best center in NFL history and should be noted as such when discussing all-time greats at his position. 

With age beginning to catch up to him (he will turn 34 later this year), it's important that he signs another long-term contract with Cleveland before he retires or leaves town on bad terms like so many other former Brown players have done in recent memory thus far.

Russell Wilson was born on November 29, 1988, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Collegiate School where he played football and graduated in 2010. After playing at NC State for two years, he transferred to Wisconsin and became the Badgers' starting quarterback in 2011.

In 2012, Wilson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with their 3rd round pick (75th overall). Over the next six seasons, he led Seattle to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances (2014 & 2015), becoming just the 2nd player ever to do so after Tom Brady of the New England Patriots (2007–2012).

On January 14th, 2019 Russell announced his retirement from professional football following a successful season as Captain of the Seahawks' team which made it all the way to Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams who eventually won 61-17. 

He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and became their starting quarterback that season.

Wilson led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory over the Broncos in 2018, becoming just the second player in NFL history to win multiple championships with two different teams. 

He has also been selected for nine Pro Bowls and holds several franchise records, including the most career passing touchdowns (385) and passer rating (104.1).

In 2020, Wilson received Walter Payton Man of the Year honors from The Associated Press after leading his team to another championship appearance despite injuring his knee late in the season.

5. Jake Ferguson

Jake Ferguson was a standout tight end at Wisconsin and is expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. 

Ferguson has excellent speed, agility, and catching ability which have made him one of the most highly coveted prospects in this year's draft class.

He will need to work on his blocking skills if he wants to become an effective NFL player, but with his skill set it shouldn't be too hard for him to improve upon that aspect of his game.

 Ferguson is poised for big things in the NFL and should develop into one of the best tight ends in the league over time Ferguson was one of the most productive receivers in college football during his time at Ohio State.

Ferguson signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and has since made a name for himself on offense. He's been a key part of the Cowboys' success over the past two seasons and is expected to continue that role moving forward.

 Ferguson will be looking to add another championship trophy to his collection when he joins the team in 2020.

Dare Ogunbowale was a star running back at Marquette and helped the team to two Big East titles. After going undrafted in 2017, Ogunbowale signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent.

He made his NFL debut in Week 3 of the season and finished with 95 rushing yards on 16 carries against the Indianapolis Colts. In 2018, Ogunbowale had another productive year for Houston, finishing with 744 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 157 carries (4.5 average).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired Ogunbowale in 2019 after he impressed during their preseason games. 

So far this season, he has carried the ball 151 times for 653 yards (5th most in the league) and seven touchdowns – including a 98-yard touchdown run against division rival New Orleans Saints.

Dare Ogunbowale was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He made his professional debut with the Buccaneers later that year, appearing in five games and rushing for 97 yards on 27 carries. 

In 2019, he signed a three-year contract extension with Tampa Bay which included an option for 2020.

In 2021, Dare played for Jacksonville before being traded to Houston midway through the season where he finished up his rookie campaign with 63 receptions for 806 yards and six touchdowns across 16 games (16 starts). 

Overall, Dare has totaled 511 rushes for 2,832 yards (6th in NFL) and 31 touchdowns during his four-year career.

Jonathan Taylor is a running back for the Indianapolis Colts and was drafted in 2020. He played college football at Wisconsin and led the Badgers with 1,977 rushing yards on 310 attempts (5.1 avg) in 2019.

Injuries have slowed Taylor's career but he still has the potential to be an impact player in the NFL. Jonathan Taylor is an incredibly talented running back in the NFL. 

He has rushing yards and touchdowns records that are hard to break, and he's been a key part of two Big Ten championship teams.

Jonathan Taylor was one of the most hyped recruits in college football history, and he hasn't been disappointed on the field so far. He's a major reason Wisconsin is a perennial contender for conference championships. 

Jonathan Taylor will be counted on by whoever drafts him next year—he'll be a top contributor right away in the league.

8. Leo Chenal

Leo Chenal was born on October 26, 2000 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Leo attended high school at Grantsburg HS and played linebacker for the Badgers in college.

In 2020, he was drafted by the Chiefs with the 103rd pick of the NFL Draft and has since appeared in four games as a rookie. Leo is currently a linebacker for Kansas City and can be seen playing regularly throughout their season this year so far..

Leo Chenal was a key player for the Kansas City Chiefs in their quest to make it back to the Super Bowl. 

He led all linebackers with 15 tackles and 1 sack on the season. Chenal also had an impressive performance against the Indianapolis Colts, recording 7 total tackles and 2 sacks in a 42-27 victory.

Leo is entering his senior year at Ohio State University, where he will play linebacker for coach Urban Meyer's Buckeyes once again next season.

9. Rob Havenstein

Rob Havenstein is a 30-year-old offensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams. He was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers but played only one season with them before being traded to the Rams.

At Wisconsin, he started all 43 games that he played in over three seasons and won two teams All-Big 10 honors as a senior after helping his team win back-to-back Big Ten titles. 

Rob has spent most of his career playing on either right or left tackles but also has experience at both guard positions and center (in college).

He is known for his athleticism and power as an offensive lineman, which has led some analysts to compare him to former Packers great Brett Favre. In 2015, Rob was named First Team All-Pro.

 by Sports Illustrated magazine and received pro bowl recognition from the AP Rob Havenstein is a dominant offensive lineman for the St. Louis Rams.

He has started all 108 games he's played in during his NFL career and is an All-Star selection in both 2017 and 2018. Rob Havenstein was drafted by the Rams with the 26th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft out of the Wisconsin Badgers. 

In 2016, Rob Havenstein received First Team All-Big Ten honors from both College Football USA and Rivals after starting every game at left tackle for Wisconsin that season.

The following year (2017), they Won Second Team AP All-America honors from Athlon Sports as well as first team PFWA recognition from the Pro Football Writers Association after anchoring one of best offensive lines in football alongside Jared Goff, Todd Gurley III, Sammy Watkins & Aaron Donald. 

In 2018 he once again won Second Team AP All-America recognition this time from Sporting News while also being selected to his second consecutive First Team PFWA squad alongside teammate Aaron Donald, Kareem Hunt, and others including Tom Brady who made his debut on the list.

10. Chris Chambers

Chambers was a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins from 2001-2007. He signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2007 but was released in 2009. Chambers later signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and played there until 2010.

Chambers has also had stints with the Cleveland Browns (2005), Baltimore Ravens (2006), and New York Jets (2009). 

In 2010, he retired after playing for the Chiefs again that season Chambers was a highly successful wide receiver in the NFL while playing for both the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans.

Chambers is one of just two receivers to ever eclipse 7,000 receiving yards in a career, and his 58 touchdowns are fifth all-time. 

Chambers has also been an instrumental part of three postseason appearances with the Dolphins (2005, 2006, 2007), including their appearance in Super Bowl XLI where they lost to Chicago by 34 points.

After ten seasons in the league and 540 receptions for 7648 yards and 58 touchdowns, Chris Chambers announced his retirement from professional football on December 12th, 2018 at 36 years old.

Melvin Gordon is a 29-year-old running back who played for the Chargers and Broncos in his career. In 2015, he was drafted by the Chargers in the first round and made an immediate impact on their team.

He left San Diego in 2019 to sign with the Chiefs, where he has continued to be a productive player so far this season. Melvin Gordon is known for his explosive speed and powerful running style, which makes him one of the most dangerous players out there on offense.

Melvin Gordon was an All-American at Wisconsin and was drafted in the first round by the San Diego Chargers. Gordon played for the Chargers from 2014 to 2018, amassing over 6,500 rushing yards and 55 touchdowns on his way to two Pro Bowl appearances. 

In 2019, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent and has been having success since then – currently leading the league in rushing yards despite only playing 11 games so far this season.

Gordon is a powerful running back who can break through tackles easily, making him one of the most feared players in the NFL when it comes to breaking away for long gains or touchdown runs.

Alan Ameche was a fullback for the Baltimore Colts from 1955 to 1960. He was named to two Pro Bowls and won a championship with the team in 1958. Ameche died of leukemia at the age of 55 in 1988.

Ameche was a two-time NFL champion and rookie of the year. He also won first-team All-Pro honors twice, as well as second team accolades four times. Ameche led the league in rushing yards three times and scored over 40 touchdowns during his career.

He is one of only six players to be named an unanimous all american, while being voted UPI player of the year twice (the others are Joe Montana, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Archie Manning and Peyton Manning).

Fletcher was selected 26th overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2001 NFL Draft. Fletcher played for the Miami Dolphins (2001–2003) and San Diego Chargers (2004-2005).

Fletcher signed with the Detroit Lions in 2006 and spent three seasons with them before he retired at the end of 2009 season. 

After retiring from football, Fletcher began working as a cornerback coach for various colleges including Wisconsin Badgers and Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles.

Fletcher was a two-time First Team All American and three time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Jamar Fletcher was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2007, but only played one season with them before being traded to the Cincinnati Bengals where he would play until 2009. 

In his four seasons with the Bengals, Fletcher recorded 193 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 3 fumble recoveries, 34 pass deflections and 7 interceptions while also scoring 1 defensive touchdown.

15. Braelon Allen

Braelon Allen is a sophomore running back for the Wisconsin Badgers. He was born in 2004 and played high school football at Fond du Lac High School. In his freshman year, he started 10 of 12 games and rushed for 1,183 yards on 207 carries with 14 touchdowns.

As a sophomore in 2019, Allen started all 11 games and ran for 1,322 yards on 245 carries with 10 touchdowns. 

His biggest game came against Nebraska where he had 204 rushing yards on 29 attempts and two touchdowns as well as one catch for 14 yards in Wisconsin's 41-31 victory over their rivals from Lincolnshire, Nebraska.

Allen has been described as "a bruising runner" who can "torch defenders upfield". Braelon Allen is a Wisconsin native who played college football at Fond du Lac. 

After redshirting his first year, Allen started all 13 games of his sophomore season and led the team in yards per carry (7.9) and touchdowns (14). 

He was named First-team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media after rushing for 1,631 yards on 291 carries with 18 touchdowns in 2018.

The Badgers will face off against Nevada in their 2021 Las Vegas Bowl matchup and Allen is looking to continue his success this postseason as he leads the nation in rushing touchdowns (16). 

A four-year starter for the Badgers, Allen has totaled 4,464 yards from scrimmage with 47 total scores over his career - including 27 during conference play alone.

Ron Dayne was a running back for the New York Giants and Denver Broncos in the NFL. He was drafted by the Giants in the 2000 NFL Draft and played for them until 2004.

He then signed with the Broncos and played for them until 2007. Dayne is most famous for his performance in the 1999 Fiesta Bowl, where he ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Dayne was born in 1978 and attended Pine Hill High School in New Jersey. He was a three-time Academic All-American and was a member of the Wisconsin Badgers football team from 1996 to 1999. Dayne was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001, but has since recovered.

He currently works as an NFL analyst for ESPN. Ron Dayne was a running back for the Wisconsin Badgers from 1996 to 2000. He was a two-time Rose Bowl MVP and earned consensus All-American honors in 1999. 

Dayne was the first player in Big Ten history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season and was also a three-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

He was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft and played for them for six seasons. He is currently a commentator for the NFL Network. Dayne was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

Burke had a successful career with the Lions, earning two Pro Bowl nods and two All-Pro selections. He retired in 2013 after a 10-year career. Burke is a two-time winner of the Walter Payton Award, which is awarded to the top defensive player in the NFL.

Richter was a three-time First-Team All-American and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993. Richter was one of the most prolific receivers in Wisconsin history, posting 1,315 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in his four seasons with the Badgers.

Richter was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the first round of the 1963 NFL Draft and played with the team for four seasons. 

Richter was a member of the Redskins' 1963 NFL championship team and was also a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 1960s. Richter was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.
