St Louis University Basketball has a proud history of success. From the program’s founding in 1906 to its recent success under legendary coach Rick Majerus, the Billikens have long been a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA.

With Majerus at the helm, SLU achieved its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 years in 2012, a testament to his coaching acumen and the hard work of his players. The Billikens are sure to continue their success as they look to make their mark in college basketball.

Larry Hughes was a prolific scorer in the NBA, averaging 21.0 points per game over his career. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1998 and played for them until 2012.

Hughes is notable for scoring 80 points against the New York Knicks on February 18, 2003 - one of just two times he scored that many Points in a single game. 

In 2006, Hughes signed with the Indiana Pacers but only lasted one season before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers where he retired at the end of that year due to injuries (he would later come out of retirement).

After retiring from basketball, Hughes has worked as an analyst on ESPN's coverage of The NBA Playoffs and College Basketball games respectively and also starred in his own reality show called "Larry's Game". 

Larry Hughes was a four-time All-Defensive First Team player in the NBA and is also one of only two players to ever lead the league in steals. Hughes played his entire career with the Golden State Warriors, where he helped them win back-to-back championships in 2002 and 2003.

After spending time with the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks, Hughes retired from professional basketball following the 2010 season. 

Larry Hughes has been named to numerous postseason award ballots including both Second Team All-NBA (2006) as well as Third Team selections (2009). 

He currently serves as an assistant coach for UC Santa Barbara's men's team where he helps guide future stars such as Kris Dunn and Jordan Bachynski through their college careers.

Jordan Goodwin was a standout player for Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Illinois. He averaged 18 points, five rebounds and four assists during his senior year and led the school to its first-ever state title game appearance.

After graduating from high school, Goodwin played two seasons of college basketball at Washington before being drafted by the Wizards in the 2017 NBA Draft. 

As a rookie point guard, he has started all 82 games for Washington this season and is averaging 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 43% from three-point range.

Jordan Goodwin is one of just 24 players in NBA history to have recorded 1 000 career assists after joining the league as a rookie point guard – an achievement that positions him as one of the most versatile playmakers in the NBA today.

Ed Macauley was born on March 22, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended high school at Saint Louis University HS and played basketball for the Saint Louis Bombers of the BAA (now NBA) from 1949 to 1959.

In 1959, he was drafted by the St. Louis Bombers and played alongside Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West during their legendary careers with the team. 

After retiring as a player, Macauley served as president of basketball operations for the Portland Trail Blazers from 1988 to 1991 before becoming head coach of his alma mater Saint Louis in 1993 until his retirement in 2001.

Ed Macauley passed away on November 8th 2011 at age 83 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease Ed Macauley was a player in the NBA for 14 seasons, and served as head coach of the St. Louis Hawks for just one season before retiring in 1960. 

Ed Macauley is most famous for being an all-star player with the Boston Celtics, winning three championships during his career. After retirement from playing, Ed Macauley spent several years coaching at various levels before joining the Atlanta Hawks staff in 1968.

Kevin Lisch is an assistant coach for the Sydney Kings in the NBL. Lisch played in the NBA from 2009 to 2020, and spent time with the Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

Lisch has been a coach since 2020, most recently with the Sydney Kings. Lisch was born in Belleville, Illinois, in 1986. Lisch played high school basketball at Althoff Catholic before attending Saint Louis University.

Lisch was undrafted out of college and played in the NBA for nine seasons. Lisch has coached in various leagues around the world, most recently with the Sydney Kings. Lisch is married and has two children. Lisch is a ambassador for ReachOut Australia, which helps people with mental health issues.

Kevin Lisch played basketball for Perth Wildcats from 2009 to 2013 and was a three time NBL MVP. He was also a French Cup champion and a 2x NBL scoring champion. 

He then moved to Nanterre and played for JSF Nanterre in 2013-2014. In 2014-2015, he played for CAI Zaragoza. Lisch then moved to the Illawarra Hawks in 2015-2016 and won the 2016 NBL championship. In 2016-2020, he coached Sydney Kings as an assistant.

Anthony Bonner was a power forward and small forward who played in the NBA for 18 seasons. Bonner was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 1990 and spent his first three seasons with the team.

In 1993, Bonner was traded to the New York Knicks and spent three seasons there. In 1995, Bonner was traded to Virtus Bologna where he spent one season. In 1996, Bonner was traded to the Sacramento Kings where he spent the rest of his career.

Bonner was a three-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection. After retiring from the NBA, Bonner became a basketball coach. 

Bonner was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Vashon, Washington. Bonner is married and has two children. Anthony Bonner is a former professional basketball player.

Bonner played for the Orlando Magic and PAOK Thessaloniki in the 1996-1997 season. Bonner then played for Galatasaray and Brujos de Guayama in the 1998-1999 season.

Bob Ferry was a highly successful player in the NBA, winning two championships with the St. Louis Hawks. Ferry also had a long coaching career, which saw him work with several teams over the years.

He passed away on October 27, 2021, at the age of 84. Ferry is one of the most successful coaches in NBA history, having won two championships as an executive and one as a player.

 Ferry also had a successful playing career, being a first-team All-American and being inducted into the Saint Louis Billikens' hall of fame.

He is perhaps most well-known for his work as an executive with the Detroit Pistons, where he won two championships. Ferry retired from coaching in 1993, and now works as a television analyst.

Bevo Nordmann was a standout center for the Cincinnati Royals during the early 1960s. He was drafted by the team in 1961, and spent seven seasons in the NBA.

He is best known for his time with the Royals, where he was a three-time All-Star and led the team to the 1963 NBA Finals. After his playing career ended, he served as a color commentator for the Royals on television for several years.

He died in 2015 at the age of 75. Bevo Nordmann was a 6-foot-7 center who played in the NBA for the Boston Celtics from 1964 to 1967. He was drafted in the first round (10th overall) by the Cincinnati Royals in 1961, and played for the St.

Louis Hawks, New York Knicks, and Allentown Jets before joining the Celtics. Nordmann was known for his shot-blocking abilities, and averaged 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in his career. He was named to the First-team All-MVC in 1960, and was also a two-time All-Star.

Nordmann is currently the head coach of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a minor-league baseball team in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. 

He was named the interim head coach of the Celtics in February of 2018, following the resignation of Brad Stevens. Nordmann was born in Germany in 1939, and came to the United States in 1957.

Marv Schatzman was born on February 18, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended high school in Soldan, Missouri and played college basketball for Saint Louis.

He was drafted by the St. Louis Bombers in the 1949 BAA draft and played for them from 1949-1950. Schatzman later played for the Detroit Falcons and the Baltimore Bullets in the NBA.

He retired from playing in the 1970s and later served as the general manager of the St. Louis Spirits of St. Louis. Marv Schatzman died on September 19, 2006 at the age of 79. 

Marv Schatzman was an important part of the Baltimore Bullets teams that made it to the NIT title in 1948 and 1950.

Schatzman was a much-needed scorer for the Bullets, averaging 3.4 points per game. He also averaged 1.1 assists per game, making him a valuable asset on both sides of the court. 

Schatzman retired after the 1950-51 season, which was his last in the NBA. He was a key part of the Rockets, playing for them from 1950-1951.

Schatzman passed away in 2001 at the age of 78. His contributions to the game of basketball are still remembered today. Marv Schatzman was a great player who will be missed.

D. C. Wilcutt was a guard in the BAA for the St. Louis Bombers from 1948 to 1950. He was drafted in the 1948 BAA draft by the Bombers and played with them for two seasons.

Wilcutt then played for the Boston Celtics and the Washington Capitols before ending his playing career with the Baltimore Bullets. He is most well-known for his time with the St.

Louis Bombers, where he was an All-Star for two seasons. Wilcutt passed away on October 19, 2015 at the age of 92. D. C. Wilcutt played basketball for Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee, before starting his coaching career.

As a player, Wilcutt was a two-time National Invitation Tournament champion and played in the NBA for two seasons. 

Wilcutt later coached at Christian Brothers College, where he led the team to three NAIA Division I championships. Wilcutt retired from coaching in 1987, but continued to work in basketball administration.

Rubin Jones was a 6'9" power forward who played in the NBA from 1975-1984. He attended high school in St. Louis, Missouri, and played college basketball at Saint Louis.

He was undrafted in the 1975 NBA Draft but was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played for the 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Atlanta Hawks. He was inducted into the St.

Louis Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. He died in July 2018 at the age of 64. Rubin Jones was a power forward who played in the NBA for over a decade. Rubin Jones was a key player on the Portland Trail Blazers team that won the 1977 NBA championship.

Rubin Jones later played for the Houston Rockets and Olympique Antibes in France. Rubin Jones was a consistent scorer and rebounder throughout his career. Rubin Jones is most remembered for his championship-winning season with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Rubin Jones later retired from playing basketball and began a successful career in business. Rubin Jones is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Rubin Jones is an avid supporter of his alma mater, Oregon State University. Rubin Jones is currently the president and CEO of the Oregon State University Foundation.

Willie Reed is a center for the Liga ACB and was undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft. Reed played college basketball at Saint Louis and was a First Team All-American in 2010.

Reed was drafted by the Reno Bighorns in the 2014 NBA Draft but was waived in December 2014. Reed joined the Springfield Armor in December 2014 and played for them until he was traded to the Hapoel Eilat in February 2015.

Reed has played for the Drive since February 2015. Reed is a two-time All-ACB player and was named to the All-Spanish League Second Team in 2014. 

Reed was named the ACB Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. Reed is a member of the United States national team and has played for them at the World Cup and the Olympics.

Reed is married and has two children. Willie Reed is a 7-foot-1 center who played collegiately at Syracuse. Reed was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft.

 Reed has spent the majority of his career with the Nets, appearing in 251 games over six seasons. Reed has averaged 5.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 26.2 minutes per game.

Reed was named to the NBA D-League All-Star team in 2015 and 2017. Reed has appeared in 22 games for the Pistons this season, averaging 5.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 18.5 minutes per game. 

Reed is a Montenegrin League champion and two-time Montenegrin Cup winner. Reed is a restricted free agent this offseason.

David Burns was born on July 3, 1958 in Dallas, Texas. He attended high school in South Oak Cliff and then college at Navarro College. Burns was drafted by the NBA in 1981 and played for the Dallas Mavericks for eight seasons.

He retired in 1993 and now works as a commentator for the NBA on TNT. Burns has three children and is married to his wife Karen. David Burns was a standout guard for the New Jersey Nets during the early 1980s. 

Burns was a two-time Metro Conference co-Player of the Year and was a first-team All-Metro Conference selection in 1981.

Burns was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 1981 NBA draft, but he never played in the NBA. Burns later played in Europe and spent several seasons in the Continental Basketball Association. Burns is now a basketball coach in the United States. 

Burns is most well-known for his time as head coach of the Siena Saints. Burns has also been an assistant coach with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Burns was inducted into the Metropolitan New York Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. Burns is currently the head coach of the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

Niemann was a highly regarded center in the NBA during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He played for the Detroit Pistons for three seasons, starting at center in all but one of them.

Niemann is perhaps best known for his time with the Pistons, as he averaged 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Niemann also played for the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers in his career.

He retired from professional basketball in 1972. Niemann was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005. He currently owns a restaurant in St. Louis. Niemann is married and has two children.

Niemann is 76 years old and retired. Rich Niemann was a 3-time All-American at the University of Wisconsin. Niemann was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1969 NBA Draft. Niemann played for the Bucks for two seasons before being traded to the Boston Celtics.

Niemann played for the Celtics for two seasons before being traded to the Carolina Cougars. Niemann played for the Cougars for two seasons before being traded to the Floridians. 

Niemann played for the Floridians for one season before being traded to the Dallas Chaparrals. Niemann played for the Chaparrals for one season before retiring.

Niemann was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Niemann has been a basketball coach since retiring from the NBA.

Barry Orms was born on May 1, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended high school at Beaumont (St. Louis, Missouri) and played college basketball at Saint Louis.

Orms was drafted by the Baltimore Bullets in the 1968 NBA draft and played for them from 1968-1970. He was considered to be one of the best small forwards of his era and is still highly respected by basketball fans.

Orms later had a successful career in coaching, leading the Baltimore Bullets to the NBA Finals in 1978. He continues to be involved in basketball officiating and is currently an NBA referee. Orms is married and has two children.

He has been involved in numerous charities and is a popular speaker at events. Barry Orms is 1976 inductee into the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame. Barry Orms was a versatile point guard who could play both offense and defense. He was a three-time All-Star and won two championships with the Pacers.

Orms also played for the Bullets and Pipers in the NBA and the San Antonio Spurs in the ABA. He was inducted into the Indiana Pacers Hall of Fame in 1998. 

Orms retired in 1978 after playing in the NBA for 13 seasons. He currently serves as a coach for the Indiana Pacers' G-League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Orms was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1948. He attended Syracuse University for one year before being drafted by the Bullets in 1968. Orms is a native of the Syracuse area and currently resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Louis, Missouri. He is American and listed at 6'0" and 190 lbs. Collins attended high school at St. Mary's. He averaged 21 points, six assists, and four rebounds per game as a senior.

Ian Vougioukas is a center who has played in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets. He was born in London, England and played college basketball at Saint Louis.

He was undrafted in the 2007 NBA draft and played in Europe for two seasons before joining Olympiacos in 2009. He then moved to Panathinaikos in 2010. He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2012 and then to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2013.

He has since retired from playing basketball. He is now a basketball coach at his old school, Saint Louis. Ian Vougioukas has Greek heritage. He is married and has two children. Ian Vougioukas was a dominant center in the EuroLeague and Greek League for a number of years.

He was a multiple Greek League champion and Greek Cup winner. He also won a Russian Cup with Lokomotiv Kuban. Ian Vougioukas is now a player with Panathinaikos. 

He has appeared in multiple NBA games, but has not had a large role. Ian Vougioukas has had a successful career overseas, winning multiple championships.

He will be a key player for Panathinaikos this season. Ian Vougioukas should be a part of the Lithuanian national team in the near future. Ian Vougioukas is a dominant center in the EuroLeague and Greek League, and should be a part of the Lithuanian national team in the near future.

Dick Boushka was a professional basketball player who played for the Minneapolis Lakers in the NBA for six seasons. He was born in 1934 in Springfield, Illinois and attended high school in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Boushka played college basketball at Saint Louis and was drafted by the Lakers in the third round of the 1955 NBA draft. He spent six seasons with the Lakers, winning two NBA championships in 1959 and 1960. Boushka retired from playing in 1965 and later worked as a basketball coach.

He died in 2019 at the age of 84. Dick Boushka was an All-American college basketball player for the Saint Louis Billikens. He was a three-time First-Team All-MVC player and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 1957 Pan American Games. 

He was also a two-time AAU All-American, and his jersey was retired by the Saint Louis Billikens. Dick Boushka is a basketball coach and was most recently the head coach at the University of Utah. 

He has also been the head coach at the University of Wyoming and the University of Minnesota-Crookston. 

Dick Boushka is the father of NBA player Rick Boushka.  Dick Boushka is also a businessman, and owns a pizza restaurant in Utah. Dick Boushka was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1937. He died on July 20, 2018, at the age of 78.

Harry Rogers was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 31, 1950. Rogers attended high school at Sumner in St. Louis, and played basketball for the school's team.

He then went on to play college basketball for Saint Louis. Rogers was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1973 NBA draft, and played for the team for four seasons.

He then moved on to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, and then the San Antonio Spurs. Rogers retired from playing in 1985, and has since been a commentator for NBA games.

Harry Rogers is 6'7" tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has two sons, Harry Jr. and Jarron. Rogers has been married to his wife, Lyn, since 1976. He played for Spirits of St.

Louis in the Dutch Eredivisie from 1975-1977. He was a two-time First-team All-Eredivisie selection and Eredivisie champion in 1975. He also played for the Netherlands national team from 1975 to 1977, averaging 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

He later played in the NBA for the Milwaukee Bucks from 1978 to 1981. He later played in the CBA for the Utah Starzz from 1984 to 1988. 

He currently coaches the Dutch national team. Harry Rogers was born on October 3, 1955 in the Netherlands. He passed away on January 4, 2018 at the age of 70.

Claggett was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played for the team from 1997 to 2001. Claggett played for the Tennessee Titans from 2002 to 2004 and for the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2007.

Claggett has been a member of the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans coaching staffs. Claggett was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2008 to 2010. Claggett was the offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins from 2011 to 2012.

Claggett was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2013 to 2014.

Jordair Jett was born on August 17, 1991 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He attended high school at Saint Agnes in Saint Paul, Minnesota, before going on to Saint Bernard's in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

After one year at Saint Louis, Jordair was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2014 NBA draft, but he was undrafted. Jordair has not played in the NBA yet, but he has played in the NBA Development League, the NBA Summer League, and the EuroLeague.

Jordair is currently a free agent and is looking to play in the NBA. Jordair is 6'1" and 215 pounds. Jordair has a great shooting stroke and is very skilled on the court. 

He is a hard worker and is always looking to improve his game. Jordair is a great player and is sure to be a huge star in the NBA.

Jordair Jett is a point guard for the Nelson Giants of the National Basketball League (NBL). Jett was named the NBL's Most Improved Player in 2018 after averaging 18.1 points, 4.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. 

Jett played college basketball at North Carolina State. Jett was drafted by the Townsville Crocodiles with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBL draft.

Moore was known for his strong defensive play and was a two-time All-Star. Moore retired from the NBA in 1975 and later played in the International Basketball Association and in Europe. Moore is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Moore is a motivational speaker and has been involved in charitable work in his home state of Missouri. Moore is currently the head coach of the Missouri Tigers men's basketball team. 

Moore has two sons, one of whom is also a professional basketball player. Moore is a respected elder statesman in the NBA and is known for his strong character and leadership skills.

Marque Perry played professional basketball in Europe for a number of years before coming over to the NBA in 2006. Perry is a proficient point guard and is known for his passing ability.

Perry is a two-time All-Star and was also named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2011. Perry was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Prosser High School. Perry played college basketball at Saint Louis and was a part of the team that won the NIT championship in 2003. 

Perry has played in the NBA for six seasons, most notably with the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks.

25. Justin Love

Justin Love was a versatile forward who excelled both offensively and defensively. Love played college basketball for the University of Kentucky, where he was a two-time All-American and led the Wildcats to the 2007 NCAA Championship.

After spending two seasons in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, Love joined the Denver Nuggets in 2009. He spent six seasons with the Nuggets before joining the Dallas Mavericks in 2015. In 2018, Love was named the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans.

He led the team to the playoffs, but they were eliminated in the first round. Love was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in June 2020, and he died seven months later at the age of 38. Love was remembered by his teammates and coaches as a hard worker and a passionate player.

He will be remembered as one of the most successful players in Nuggets history.

26. Javonte Perkins

Perkins is a member of the US national team and was part of the team that competed in the FIBA U19 World Cup in Spain in 2018. Perkins is a highly skilled player who is looking to continue his successful career in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Evans was a standout player at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois. He played college basketball for Saint Louis before being undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft.

Evans played in the B.League for the Hiroshima Dragonflies in 2016–17 and 2017–18. Evans signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018, but was waived shortly after. Evans has since played for the San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks in the NBA.

Evans has averaged 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in his career. Evans has represented the United States at the World Cup and the Olympics. Evans has a wife and two children. Evans is a hard worker who is known for his hustle and determination on the court.

Dwayne Evans is a 6’7″ forward who played college basketball for the Georgia Bulldogs. Evans started his professional career with the German team, Gießen 46ers. After one season with Gießen, Evans joined the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg of the German Bundesliga. 

In the 2017-2018 season, Evans helped Ludwigsburg reach the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.

In the playoffs, Evans helped Ludwigsburg defeat the favored Rostock Lakers in the semifinal. In the semifinal, Evans put up 21 points and 11 rebounds in a 103-92 victory over the second seeded Brose Bamberg. Evans helped Ludwigsburg win the German Bundesliga Title in 2018.

 Evans was named to the All-Bundesliga Second Team for the 2018-2019 season. Evans is in the final year of his contract with Ludwigsburg and is expected to sign with a new team in the near future.

Ford was an assistant coach at Campbellsville for two seasons before taking the reins at Eastern Kentucky in 2000. Ford is widely respected in the coaching community, having been named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2017.

Ford is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Ford and Saint Louis will play their final game of the season on Sunday, March Ford was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State from 2004-2008 before taking the head coaching job at UMass in 2008.

Ford led UMass to the OVC tournament in his first year, and then back-to-back regular season titles in 2009 and 2010. Ford left UMass for Oklahoma State in 2012.

Where he led the Cowboys to the NIT in his second year. Ford was hired at Saint Louis in 2016, where he has led the Billikens to the A-10 regular season and tournament titles in his first two seasons.

Brian Conklin is a power forward who plays for FC Porto in the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB). Conklin played college basketball at Saint Louis and was not drafted by an NBA team.

In 2013, Conklin joined the Southland Sharks of the NBA Development League. He has since played for FC Porto in the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol and the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. Conklin was part of the United States' FIBA Europe Cup team in 2016.

Majerus, who retired in 2009 after a 32-year coaching career, was a key figure in the development of the modern day college basketball player.

He is most famous for his work with the Saint Louis Billikens, where he led the team to a national championship in 1988. Majerus also coached at Saint Louis and Utah, where he had his most successful seasons. 

He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. Majerus is currently the head coach at Saint Louis Christian University.

Charlie Spoonhour was born in Mulberry, Kansas on June 23, 1939. After playing at Ozarks Community College and then Southwest Missouri State, Spoonhour became an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Arkansas.

Spoonhour served as the head coach at Rocky Comfort HS in Ozark from 1961 to 1963 and at Bloomfield HS in Bloomfield from 1963 to 1967. He then spent three years as the assistant coach at Salem HS in Salem, Kansas. Spoonhour was the head coach at Southeast Iowa CC from 1975 to 1981.

He then served as the head coach at Oklahoma from 1975 to 1981, and at Moberly JC from 1974 to 1975. Spoonhour later served as an assistant coach at North Carolina from 1981 to 1992. He retired from coaching in 1992. Spoonhour died on February 1, 2012 at the age of 72.
