Jalen Ramsey Stats: Career Numbers and What They Reveal

John Rizzo

Jalen Ramsey Stats

Jalen Ramsey has 666 career tackles, 118 passes defended and 25 interceptions through Week 7 of the 2026 season, his 11th in the NFL. Few defensive backs of his era have produced numbers in so many different roles.

He has been a shutdown boundary corner in Jacksonville, a Super Bowl champion in Los Angeles, the league’s highest-paid cornerback in Miami, and now a do-everything nickel and safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Each stop left a distinct fingerprint on his stat line.

This breakdown puts every season, every team and every major honor into tables you can scan in seconds, then explains what the numbers actually say.

All figures run through the Steelers’ 16-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in Paris on October 25, 2026.

Season-by-Season Stats (2016–2026)

Ramsey’s statistical peak ran from 2017 to 2022, when he averaged 13 passes defended and nearly 3 interceptions per season. His tackle totals peaked later, with 88 in both 2022 and 2025.

*2026 figures run through Week 7. Bold marks a career high.

Three patterns jump out of the table:

  • Interceptions cluster in his outside-corner years. 22 of his 25 picks came between 2016 and 2023, when he lived on the boundary.
  • Sacks are a recent weapon. He had 2.0 sacks in his first nine seasons combined, then 5.0 in 24 games as a Steeler.
  • Durability returned. He started all 17 games in both 2024 and 2025, plus all seven so far in 2026, after a 2023 knee injury cost him seven games.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2016–2019): The Shutdown Corner Arrives

Ramsey was an All-Pro by his second season, posting 17 passes defended and 4 interceptions in 2017 as Jacksonville reached the AFC Championship Game.

The Jaguars took him fifth overall in 2016, the first cornerback off the board. His 14 passes defended that year led every NFL rookie, and Pro Football Focus graded him 82.3, 21st among qualifying corners. A year later that grade jumped to 91.8, second at the position.

His Jacksonville run ended abruptly. After a sideline dispute and a trade request early in 2019, the Jaguars sent him to the Rams on October 15, 2019, for two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder.

Los Angeles Rams (2019–2022): Peak Production and a Super Bowl Ring

Ramsey’s four Rams seasons produced two first-team All-Pro nods, 10 interceptions, 47 passes defended and the Super Bowl LVI title.

In September 2020, Los Angeles signed him to a five-year, $100 million extension, making him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history at that point. His 2020 season shows why raw numbers undersell elite corners: he earned first-team All-Pro with just 1 interception and 9 passes defended, because his value showed up in coverage snaps that never reach a box score.

The 2021 title run came while he was playing through tears in both shoulders, which he had repaired that offseason. He then delivered his most complete statistical season in 2022: career highs of 88 tackles, 64 solo stops and 18 passes defended, with PFF ranking him third among all cornerbacks at 86.4.

Across the 2021 postseason he started all four games, adding 13 tackles and 4 passes defended. In March 2023, the Rams traded him to Miami for tight end Hunter Long and a third-round pick.

Miami Dolphins (2023–2024): Ball Skills Through Adversity

Ramsey intercepted 5 passes in 27 games for Miami, including 3 in just 10 games during an injury-shortened 2023.

A torn meniscus in training camp put him on injured reserve for the first seven weeks of 2023. He returned with an interception in his Dolphins debut and still earned a seventh straight Pro Bowl. In September 2024, Miami signed him to a three-year, $72.3 million extension that made him the league’s highest-paid cornerback.

The 2024 season hinted at what came next. Ramsey logged 6 tackles for loss and his first sack since 2022, early signs of a player whose impact was spreading beyond pure coverage. Miami and Ramsey agreed to explore a trade in April 2025, and he was dealt to Pittsburgh on June 30.

Pittsburgh Steelers (2025–Present): From Cornerback to Chess Piece

Through seven games of 2026, Ramsey is on a 17-game pace for about 107 tackles, which would beat his career high of 88 by nearly 20.

Pittsburgh acquired him on June 30, 2025, sending safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to Miami for Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith and a 2027 seventh-rounder.

He opened 2025 at outside corner, made his first career start at safety in Week 9 against Indianapolis, and stayed there for the final nine weeks.

The move paid off. Ramsey finished 2025 with 88 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, 8 passes defended and 1 interception.

He and Seattle linebacker Drake Thomas were the only NFL players with at least 85 tackles, 8 passes defended and 3 sacks, which made Ramsey the only defensive back to do it. He also earned his eighth Pro Bowl.

2026 game log

Under head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, Ramsey now rotates between the “star” (nickel corner), the “money” (a coverage-first subpackage linebacker) and safety.

Week 6 was the season’s signature performance. Ramsey posted 10 tackles and 2 sacks, including the game-sealing sack in overtime, and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Week 7 in Paris was rougher in coverage, with New Orleans receivers finding separation, though he still made 7 tackles while playing through a wrist injury that limited his practice time.

The trade-off is clear: more tackles and more pressure, fewer passes defended. That is the profile of a defender who now spends more snaps near the line of scrimmage than on an island against a top receiver. Pittsburgh’s next test is a Week 8 rematch with Cleveland on November 1, 2026.

Awards and Honors

Ramsey owns a Super Bowl ring, three AP first-team All-Pro selections and eight Pro Bowls, with honors spanning all four of his NFL teams.

The Pro Bowl streak is the standout figure. Seven straight selections from 2017 to 2023 came across three franchises, which shows his reputation held up through two trades and a major knee injury.

Versatility and Coverage Profile

Ramsey has held three different jobs in 11 seasons, and Pro Football Focus grades him 12th of 98 qualified safeties through six weeks of 2026.

The 2026 detail is more mixed than the overall grade suggests. His coverage grade of 75.7 ranks 10th among safeties, but targets in his area have produced a 110.4 passer rating on 14 catches allowed. His run-defense grade of 75.0 sits 29th.

Read together, the numbers describe a defender whose instincts and tackling still grade well, while pure man coverage at age 32 has become the area to watch. It also fits Pittsburgh’s decision to move him closer to the ball.

How Ramsey Compares to Hall of Fame Cornerbacks

Ramsey already has more Pro Bowls than Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis, though his standing among peers has slid from 9th in 2022 to 82nd in 2026.

The slide tracks his move away from the No. 1 corner role more than a collapse in play. He still made the 2026 list in his 10th season, then won AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in October.

Darrelle Revis145291397412023
Charles Woodson254651839412021
Champ Bailey2155220312302019

Against Revis, the closest statistical match, Ramsey has one more Pro Bowl, the same number of rings, one fewer first-team All-Pro and 4 fewer interceptions in 14 more games.

Woodson and Bailey set a higher bar for longevity and ball production, with 215 or more games and 50-plus interceptions each.

Ramsey’s Hall of Fame case will likely rest on three pillars: a peak of three All-Pro seasons between 2017 and 2021, a championship, and positional range few defensive backs have matched. Steelers coaches have even compared his evolving role to Woodson, who also moved between corner and safety late in his career.

The Bottom Line on Jalen Ramsey’s Stats

Ramsey’s numbers show a player who traded interceptions for tackles, sacks and flexibility, without losing his place among the NFL’s most productive defensive backs.

The early tables reward the shutdown corner: 22 interceptions in his first eight seasons and an All-Pro résumé built on the boundary.

The recent tables reward the chess piece: 5.0 sacks in 24 Steelers games and a tackle pace headed for a career high. Few players at any position can point to both chapters.
