Jalen Ramsey has been one of the most talked-about defensive backs in the NFL for a decade. He is loud, confident, versatile and, at his peak, nearly impossible to throw against. With that kind of resume, fans often ask a simple question: how many rings does Jalen Ramsey have?
The answer tells a bigger story about timing, trades and one unforgettable season in Los Angeles. In this post, we break down Jalen Ramsey’s Super Bowl ring count, how he earned it, the near-misses along the way, and whether a second ring is still within reach.
How Many Rings Does Jalen Ramsey Have? The Short Answer
Jalen Ramsey has one Super Bowl ring. He won it with the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI, when the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 on February 13, 2022, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
That is still his only NFL championship as of October 2026. Ramsey has played for four franchises: the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers. Only the Rams carried him to a title.
Ramsey also owns a college championship. As a true freshman, he started for the Florida State Seminoles team that beat Auburn for the BCS national title after the 2013 season. It is not a Super Bowl ring, but it shows he has been a winner at every level.
The Jacksonville Years: One Win Away From the Super Bowl
The Jaguars drafted Ramsey fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Florida State. He started all 16 games as a rookie and made the All-Rookie Team.
His second season, 2017, was his breakout. Ramsey made his first Pro Bowl and was named First-team All-Pro. He anchored a defense fans nicknamed “Sacksonville,” and Jacksonville won the AFC South at 10-6 to end a 10-year playoff drought.
The Jaguars beat the Buffalo Bills 10-3, then stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers 45-42 on the road. That set up the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots. Jacksonville led in the fourth quarter but lost 24-20. In just his second season, Ramsey was one win away from his first Super Bowl.
Things soured after that. Jacksonville slipped to 5-11 in 2018, and a heated 2019 sideline argument with head coach Doug Marrone was followed by a trade request.
The Trade to the Rams and an All-In 2021 Season
On October 15, 2019, the Jaguars traded Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams for two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick. It was a steep price, but the Rams believed an elite cornerback could push them over the top.
In September 2020, the Rams signed him to a five-year, $100 million extension. At the time, it made him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. He rewarded them with First-team All-Pro honors that season.
The 2021 season was the real payoff. The Rams went all in, adding quarterback Matthew Stafford, pass rusher Von Miller and receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Ramsey, now wearing No. 5, moved around the secondary in a hybrid role.
He finished with 77 tackles, 16 pass deflections and four interceptions, and earned another First-team All-Pro selection.
Los Angeles went 12-5 and won the NFC West. In the playoffs, the Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-11, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 and the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 to reach the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LVI: How Jalen Ramsey Won His Ring
Super Bowl LVI was played at SoFi Stadium, the Rams’ own home field. That made Los Angeles only the second team to win a Super Bowl in its home stadium.
The Bengals, led by Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, were a dangerous passing team, and they led 20-16 in the fourth quarter.
The Rams answered with a long drive, and Stafford hit Cooper Kupp for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:25 left. Aaron Donald then pressured Burrow into an incompletion on fourth down to seal the 23-20 win. Kupp was named Super Bowl MVP.
Ramsey started and recorded four tackles, three of them solo, plus one pass deflection. One of the game’s most debated plays came against him: Tee Higgins’ 75-yard touchdown on the opening play of the second half, when Higgins appeared to grab Ramsey’s facemask and no flag was thrown. Ramsey and the Rams defense regrouped and held Cincinnati to a single field goal the rest of the way.
There was one more remarkable detail. After the season, it came out that Ramsey had played all of 2021 with tears in both shoulders, and he had surgery in June 2022. Winning a ring and All-Pro honors through that injury says a lot about his toughness.
After the Ring: Miami, Pittsburgh and the Hunt for Ring No. 2
Ramsey had another strong year in 2022, posting a career-high 88 tackles and four interceptions. Even so, the Rams traded him to the Miami Dolphins in March 2023.
His Miami tenure began with a torn meniscus in training camp. He returned in late October 2023 and intercepted Mac Jones in his Dolphins debut.
In September 2024, Miami gave him a three-year, $72.3 million extension that made him the league’s highest-paid cornerback. Still, the Dolphins never won a playoff game with him.
In June 2025, Miami traded Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Pittsburgh used him all over the field, including more snaps at safety. He recorded 88 tackles and three sacks, and the Steelers won the AFC North at 10-7.
The ring chase stalled again in January 2026, when the Houston Texans beat Pittsburgh 30-6 in the Wild Card round. A month later, the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, which left Ramsey’s ring count at one.
Now 32, Ramsey is back with the Steelers for 2026 in a hybrid “star” role, lining up at corner, safety and even linebacker in some packages. A second ring is still possible, but the window is getting smaller.
Jalen Ramsey’s Career Honors Beyond the Ring
One ring does not tell the full story. Ramsey’s individual resume is among the best of any defensive back of his era:
- Super Bowl champion (LVI)
- Three-time First-team All-Pro (2017, 2020, 2021)
- Seven straight Pro Bowl selections from 2017 to 2023
- PFWA All-Rookie Team (2016)
- 25 career interceptions and 118 pass deflections early in the 2026 season
- Named to the NFL Top 100 Players list, voted by his peers, every year since 2018
His highest Top 100 ranking was ninth, which came in 2022, right after his Super Bowl season.
Final Word on Jalen Ramsey’s Super Bowl Rings
So, how many rings does Jalen Ramsey have? The answer is one, earned with the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
He came close earlier with Jacksonville and has chased a second title in Miami and Pittsburgh without success so far.
Rings are a team achievement, and Ramsey’s legacy rests on far more than one game. He has been a shutdown corner, a do-it-all chess piece and one of the loudest competitors in football.
If the Steelers can make a deep playoff run, he may yet add a second ring. For now, that 2021 championship with the Rams remains the crown jewel of an outstanding career.
