Tom Clifford was born in Ireland in 1923. He started playing rugby union in his early teens and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a prop in the 1950s.

Clifford was a key part of the Irish team that won the Triple Crown in 1955 and 1957. He retired from rugby in the early 1960s, but continued to play club rugby until his death in 1990.

Clifford was inducted into the IRFU Hall of Fame in 2000. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest prop forwards in rugby history. Tom Clifford is survived by his wife, four children and eight grandchildren.

Mike Prendergast is a rugby union player who has played for both Young Munster and Senior Ireland. Prendergast is a scrum-half and is renowned for his passing skills.
