Gary Broadbent started his career with Barrow-in-Furness, playing for the club for 11 years. He made his first team debut in 1995 and went on to make over 240 appearances for the club.

In 2003, Broadbent joined Widnes Vikings and played there until 2007. He then moved to St. Helens in 2007 and played for them until 2016. In 2016, Broadbent joined Hull FC and has since played for them.

Broadbent has won the Super League championship with Hull FC in 2017 and the Challenge Cup in 2018. He has also been part of the England squad since 2006 and has played 8 test matches. Broadbent is currently a full-time coach for Hull FC.

Gary Broadbent was a rugby league footballer who played for Widnes Vikings and Salford City Reds in the 1990s. Spencer Miller is an experienced second-row forward who is comfortable playing either at loose forward or in the midfield. Miller has represented New Zealand at Under-20 level and also played for the Otago Crusaders in the Mitre 10 Cup.

He made his Super Rugby debut for the Highlanders in 2014 and has since gone on to make over 50 appearances for the team. Miller has also represented the All Blacks in a number of internationals, most notably in the 2017 test against the British and Irish Lions.

Vincent Gribbin is a former English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played at centre for his entire career. Vincent Gribbin is one of the most successful English rugby league players of all time, with a total of 53 caps and 12 tries scored for his country.

Vincent Gribbin is also a successful businessman, having founded a property development company in 1997. Vincent Gribbin retired from professional rugby league in 2003, but continued to play for amateur clubs in the south of England.

Charlton played for Workington Town for over a decade, and was a regular for Salford. He was a fullback who was known for his aerial abilities. He represented England on several occasions, and was a member of the World Cup-winning squad in 1966.

He retired from playing in 1980, and has since worked as a coach. Charlton was born in 1941, and passed away in 2017 at the age of 81. Paul Charlton was a football coach who worked with Workington Town, Carlisle and Barrow. He was born in Cumberland in 1965 and died in 1997.

He coached Workington to promotion to the Football League in 1998. He also coached Carlisle and Barrow in the Football League. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1997 and died a few months later. He was posthumously awarded the Football League's coaching award in 1998.

27. Jimmy Dalton

Dalton was a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler who represented England in international cricket. He made his debut for England in 1986 and played until 2000, making 57 appearances.

He was a regular fixture in the England team during the early 1990s and helped England to win the 1992 and 1996 World Cups. He also played in the 1993 and 1999 World T20s. After retiring from international cricket, Dalton played in county cricket for Lancashire and Northamptonshire.

He died in 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Dalton was a highly respected member of the English cricketing community and was given the freedom of the town of Whitehaven. 

He is regarded as one of England's greatest batsmen of the 1990s. Dalton is also remembered for his lively and entertaining batting style.

28. Mick Nanyn

Mick Nanyn started his career at Manchester United, but left the club in 2004. He then joined Wigan Athletic, where he played for six years before moving to Blackpool in 2010.

Nanyn has represented England at under-21 level, and made his full international debut in 2007. He has since won 58 caps, scoring three goals. 

In 2013, Nanyn became the captain of Blackpool, and led the club to promotion to the Premier League in his first season in charge.

Nanyn has also played for Burnley, Huddersfield Town, and Bolton Wanderers, and has won over 100 caps for England.

 In January 2019, Nanyn announced his retirement from professional football, after playing for Blackpool for 12 years. Mick Nanyn is a hard-working central midfielder who is excellent in the tackle and possesses good passing ability.

He is known for his creativity and passing range, as well as his leadership skills. Mick Nanyn is a highly respected professional footballer, and is regarded as one of England's finest midfielders of all time.

Ryan King is a professional rugby league footballer who plays in the second row for Halifax Panthers in the Betfred Championship.

 He was born in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia on June 28, 1997, and is of Italian descent. King started his rugby league journey in junior rugby for Wests Illawarra Devils.

In 2017, King joined the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and played for their NRL Under-20s team. He then joined Whitehaven in the RFL Championship where he made 26 appearances and scored 14 tries. 

His impressive performance earned him a spot in the Italy squad for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup 2022.

King's time at Whitehaven saw him become a fan favorite, having made 37 appearances and scoring 17 tries. 

Despite overcoming a long-term knee injury, King managed to establish himself as the leading try scorer for the club in the 2022 season. He was eventually signed by Halifax Panthers for the 2023 season.

Throughout his career, Ryan King has shown himself to be a talented and dedicated player who is always working to improve his game. His journey to the top of the rugby league world has been an inspiration to many, and he will undoubtedly continue to be a major force in the sport for years to come.

Louis Jouffret is a French rugby player who plays for the French side Racing 92. He is a stand-off and scrum-half. Jouffret made his debut for Racing 92 in the 2014–15 season.

Will Evans was born on January 28th 1997 in Norwich, England. Evans played rugby union for the Norwich University RFC from 2014-2016. Evans has represented England at U16, U18 and U20 level.

Evans was named in the 2017 England squad for the Junior World Cup. Evans represented England in the 2017 Junior World Cup where they reached the semi-finals. Evans signed for Bristol in September 2017.

Evans made his debut for Bristol in a EFL Cup match against Swansea City on October 7th 2017. Evans scored his first professional goal in a EFL Cup match against Southampton on October 14th 2017. Evans signed a new contract with Bristol in December 2017.

Will Evans started his senior career with Leicester Tigers in 2016 and has since played for Harlequins. Evans has been a consistent performer for both clubs, scoring 25 points in 43 appearances for Leicester and 50 points in 50 appearances for Harlequins.

Evans is a versatile player, able to play at flanker or in the number 8 position. Evans is a hard-working player, with a strong work-rate both on and off the ball.

Final Words

Whitehaven R.L.F.C. was formed in 1873, making it one of the oldest rugby league clubs in the world. The club has played at its present home, the Recreation Ground, since 1884.

Whitehaven have won the Lancashire County Cup on thirteen occasions, the Challenge Cup twice, the Lancashire League Championship seven times and the Lancashire County League Championship six times.
