The 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Tournament will begin on Thursday, December 1 It will end on Saturday, December 17 There are 64 teams in the tournament this year They are divided into four regions: East, South, West and Central Each team plays eight games during the regular season 5 of which count towards their seeding for the tournament 6 is a first round game where two seeds from each region play against one another 7 is a second round game where the winners from the first and second rounds meet 8 is a quarterfinal game 9 is semifinal game 10 is championship game 11 All matches are played at neutral sites 12 There are no lower bracket games 13 Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw 14 After all ninth and tenth place games have been played, if there’s still an open spot in either of those brackets then that tiebreaker match will be played 15 The winning team gets crowned champions

Hawaii took the first set by a score of 25-22, but lost the second set by a score of 25-21. This was the twenty fourth time that Hawai’i has won a NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship title and their third consecutive one (they also won it in 2010 and 2014).
With this victory, head coach Dave Shoji becomes just the fifth coach in NCAA history with three championships overall as well as at two different schools: he was previously at Stanford (2005), UCLA (2009) and now Hawai’i ( 2021).
