Early years

Shaq Lawson was born with a love for basketball and football. His parents named him after two famous basketball players, Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon. He attended D. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina where he played football as a defensive end.

In his senior year, he recorded 99 tackles and 9 sacks whereas, in his junior year, he managed to record 100 tackles but with more sack number of 13.
