Early life and high school

Myjai Sanders was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended William M. Raines High School before transferring to Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia for his junior year of high school.

During his senior season at Camden County Highschool, Sanders recorded 39 tackles with three sacks and seven quarterback hurries which earned him recognition as Coastal Georgia All-Area team by The Brunswick News.

Sanders received many offers from schools such as Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Washington State, and UCF but ultimately committed to play college football at Cincinnati University due to their strong programs that appealed to him the most out of all the universities he visited during recruitment visits.

During his time playing at Cameron Country Highschool Myjai proved himself a valuable asset early on whether it be through defense or offense making him a heavily sought after recruit throughout the state of Georgia leading up until graduation day when he made it officially committing to join the Bearcats Football program for collegiate sports competition upon completion of high school studies.

Sanders had an impressive showing while attending Cameron Country racking up several awards thanks largely due to his tenacious work ethic both on AND off the field setting the stage for what would become a very successful career.

His commitment towards self improvement shone thru each game played culminating in 1st Team honors selection following the final game during his senior campaign cementing a legacy left behind within the local community well being remembered even today.

Todd Heap is a former American Football tight end who played in the NFL for 12 seasons. He spent the majority of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, where he established himself as one of the best tight ends in the league. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the All-Pro team in 2003.

Heap was also a key contributor to the Ravens’ Super Bowl-winning team in 2000. He played for the Baltimore Ravens from 2001 to 2010 and later played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2011 and 2012.

Heap was a fan favorite in Baltimore and his contributions to the team were recognized when he was inducted into the Baltimore Ravens Ring of Honor in 2019. After his playing days ended, Heap retired to a quiet life with his family in Arizona.

College career

In his sophomore year, Sanders was named a starter on the defense and finished with 40 tackles, seven for loss and four sacks. His junior season saw him earn even more recognition when he was selected as one of 16 semifinalists.

The Chuck Bednarik Award after recording six tackles with 1.5 sacks against Memphis which earned him American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors that week His senior season really put Sanders on the map nationally.

Where he started all 13 games earning First-Team All-AAC honors while leading team in total pressures (22) to go along with posting 37 solo stops including 12 TFLs good enough to be tied 2nd most among AAC defenders during regular season play.

Professional career

Myjai Sanders was selected in the third round (100th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2022 NFL Draft.

After being drafted, he signed a four-year contract with them and made his professional debut against their division rivals Seattle Seahawks on September 12, 2022.

He quickly established himself as one of the most promising rookies at cornerback for Arizona after intercepting Russell Wilson twice during that game.

His impressive performance throughout training camp earned him a starting spot ahead of veterans Justin Bethel and Tramaine Brock Jr., solidifying his place as an integral part of their secondary going forward.

Sanders went on to start 15 games for Arizona over two seasons before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2024 due to salary cap constraints.

He then signed with San Francisco 49ers where he spent three years developing into one of the league’s best cornerbacks while playing alongside Richard Sherman and Emmanuel Moseley – forming arguably best defensive backfield duo since Legion Of Boom era ended.
