Early life

James Maddison was born and raised in Coventry, West Midlands. He was born to an Irish ancestry through a grandparent. Maddison grew up in a family that was passionate about football and was always encouraged to pursue his dreams.

He was always determined to make it to the top and began playing early in his life. At the age of seven, he joined the youth academy of Coventry City and began training as well as playing for their under-9s. He quickly gained recognition for his skills and was promoted to their under-14s team.
