The Angolan Men’s National Basketball team is one of the most successful teams in Africa, having won multiple medals at both the Summer Olympic Games and FIBA World Championships. Known for their strong defensive play and aggressive offense, they have been a dominant force on the continent since 1979 when they became members of FIBA. Despite being an African nation with limited resources and opportunities to participate on an international stage, Angola has managed to consistently compete against some of the best basketball nations in world over several decades now. With passionate fan support and determination from its players, Angola’s national men’s basketball team continues to make strides towards becoming one of the top teams in global competition.

Leonel Paulo is a 36-year-old power forward who has played for Petro Atlético since 2012. He was named MVP of the Angolan League in 2015 and has also represented his country at the Africa Champions Cup.

Leonel Paulo is known for his strong offensive game, which he showcases with both rebounding and scoring averages above 10 points per game over the course of his career. 

Leonel Paulo is a professional basketball player who has represented Angola internationally at both the AfroBasket and African Games tournaments.

Leonel Paulo was born in 1989 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and played college basketball for Florida International University before turning professional in 2013. 

Leonel Paulo's first club team was Petro Atlético of Luanda, where he helped them win the 2011 FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup title. He then moved to 1º de Agosto of Salé for two seasons before joining Petro Atlético again in Malabo as their new captain for the 2012 season.

In 2015, he joined Radès of Tunisia as their captain ahead of the upcoming AfroBasket tournament which Angola will be competing in under head coach José Miguel Bonifácio Silva Santos.

Felizardo Ambrósio is a power forward with experience playing in both the Africa Champions Cup and BIC Basket. He was born on December 25th, 1987 in Luanda, Angola.

Ambrósio has played for ASA since 2001 before joining Primeiro de Agosto in 2005. His height of 201 cm (6'59") and weight of 97 kg (214 lb) make him an imposing figure on the court.

Felizardo is known for his rebounding skills and defensive intensity which have helped him to win several titles throughout his career including three.

African Champion's Cups, one Portuguese League title and two Spanish Cups with Sporting Luanda between 2002-2004 as well as being named MVP of the Angolan National Basketball Championship twice consecutively - in 2006 and 2007).

Felizardo Ambrósio was born in Luanda, Angola on January 6th 1988. He played basketball for the Angolan National Team from 2006-2009 and represented his country at AfroBasket in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013. 

In 2015 he helped lead Radès to the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup title. Felizardo is a versatile player who can play both forward positions well and has excellent shooting skills which have seen him score many points throughout his career as an NBA prospect or international player alike.

In 2019 he signed with BCM Gravelines of the French LNB Pro A league where he will continue to develop his game while playing against some of Europe's best players.

Morais is a shooting guard who has played for Petro de Luanda in Angola and the Toronto Raptors of the NBA. Morais was born in 1985 in Luanda, Angola. He attended Community Christian School in Stockbridge, Georgia before beginning his professional career with Petro de Luanda.

In 2009, Morais joined Recreativo do Libolo of the Portuguese Liga Basket League after spending two years with Petro de Luanda. With Libolo, he won three league championships (2009-2011). 

In 2013, Morais signed with the Toronto Raptors as an unrestricted free agent and made his debut that year against Milwaukee Bucks.

He has since appeared in over 150 games for the Raptors averaging 5 points per game while shooting 42% from three-point range.

Carlos Morais is a professional basketball player who has spent the majority of his career playing for Portuguese clubs Recreativo Libolo and Benfica. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft, but he opted to sign with Petrolul Luanda instead.

In 2019, Carlos won Angola's top domestic award – the President's Cup – after leading Petro de Luanda to their fourth championship in five years. 

Having starred at both college levels (at SIUE and Creighton), Morais is now looking forward to shining on an international stage with Petrolul Luanda in 2020 Olympic Qualifying tournaments.

Olímpio Cipriano is a professional basketball player who has played for Primeiro de Agosto, Benfica do Libolo and Petro de Luanda in his career. He was born on 9 April 1982 in Luanda, Angola.

He is 1.93 metres tall and weighs 205 kilograms. His playing career started in 2000 with Primeiro de Agosto before he moved to Benfica do Libolo the following year. In 2018, Olímpio joined Petro de Luanda where he currently plays as a forward Olímpio Cipriano was born in Luanda, Angola on January 2nd, 1972.

He started playing basketball at a very young age and quickly became one of the best players in his country. In 1992 he joined the national team and played at several international tournaments, including the AfroBasket tournament where Angola finished as runners-up in 2005. 

Olímpio has also represented his country at the African Clubs Champions Cup on numerous occasions and is currently captain of Luanda's senior team.

Outside of basketball, Olímpio works as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company based in Benin City, Nigeria.

Mingas is a power forward who has played in the NBA and in the Angolan Basketball League. He was born on 29 January 1979 in Saurimo, Angola. Mingas was never drafted by an NBA team but he did play for Interclube from 2000 to 2005 and then Petro de Luanda between 2006 and 2010.

In 2013, Mingas transferred to Recreativo do Libolo where he currently plays. Eduardo Mingas is a retired Angolan basketball player who won multiple championships with his national team. Eduardo Mingas was also an all-star performer for the FIBA Africa Champions Cup, playing on five championship teams.

After retiring from professional play, Eduardo Mingas now works as an assistant coach with his former club Petro de Luanda.

Kikas Gomes is an experienced player in the European basketball league system. He has played for Petro Atlético and RheinEnergie Köln before joining 1º de Agosto in 2006.

In his five seasons with the club, Gomes has averaged 11 points per game and 5 rebounds per contest. He was selected as Angola's captain for the 2014 FIBA World Cup qualification campaign but failed to help his team qualify for the tournament proper.

With age on his side and plenty of experience at top level Europe, Kikas Gomes should continue to produce good results moving forward Kikas Gomes is a Brazilian-born player who has been playing professionally in Europe for the last few seasons. 

He was named MVP of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup final, which his team won against Angola's 1º de Agosto.

With averages of 15 points and 5 rebounds per game, he is one of the most promising players on his club side, Barcelona Basketból Club, this season. 

As well as representing Brazil at senior level (he played at the 2014 World Cup), Kikas also has experience with Angolan teams including Angola U20s and Primeiro de Agosto Futebol Clube (where he spent time before moving to Europe).

In 2013/14 he led Barcelona Basketból Club to their first ever Spanish League title in 44 years – an achievement that saw him elected captain by his teammates. 

Known for being an excellent defender as well as scorer from outside shooting range, Kikas' versatility will be key if Barcelona are to retain their crown next season too.

Carlos Almeida was born in Luanda, Angola on 24 September 1976. He started playing basketball at an early age and joined the E.R.T (Angola's first professional basketball club) in 1984 when he was just 14 years old.

Carlos played for Petro Atlético from 1987 to 2001 before moving to Primeiro de Agosto where he spent the next six seasons as a shooting guard until retiring in 2014 at the age of 41 after playing his final game with Primeiro de Agosto against CAB Madeira Basket Club.

In total, Carlos has played 18 seasons in Portugal and won two Portuguese Liga titles (2001–02 and 2002-03), three Portuguese Cup titles (1998–99, 1999-00, 2000–01), one Portuguese Supercup title (2002) and five Spanish Cups (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006). 

After retirement from professional basketball Carlos decided to take up coaching duties with Primeiro de Agosto youth teams where he continues working today as head coach of their Under-16 team Outside of basketball Carlos is married with two children and works as a real estate agent.

Miguel Lutonda is a former Angolan football player who enjoyed a lengthy playing career. He started out with GD Banca in 1985 and spent the next 16 years with various clubs, including ASA (1998-2002) and 1º de Agosto (2002-2012).

In 2012, he retired from professional football after helping 1º de Agosto win the Angola League championship. Since retirement, Miguel has worked as an assistant coach for his former club 1º de Agosto. Outside of football, he is married and has two children.

Miguel Lutonda is a Angola basketball player who has represented his country at the AfroBasket tournament. Miguel Lutonda played for the 1º de Agosto club in Luanda, and helped them win the 2007 Africa Clubs Champions Cup. 

In 2009, he joined Algerian side Étoile Sportive du Sahel as a free agent, but was released after just one season due to financial problems within the club.

He then returned to Luanda and signed with Primeiro de Maio until 2013 before moving on to Kigali-based APR Simbas for two years starting from 2014 onwards before returning once again to Primeiro de Maio this year (2015). 

Miguel Lutonda made his debut for Angola during their 1999 African Nations Championship qualification campaign, where they finished second behind Morocco after losing both of their games against DR Congo by an aggregate score of 136–94.

However they qualified nonetheless as hosts following Egypt's withdrawal from contention later that month due to political unrest within their team ahead of the finals which were eventually staged in South Africa without them competing.

At age 33 years old, Miguel Lutonda became eligible for participation at this year's edition of AfroBasket 2017 hosted by Tunisia where he averaged 9 points per game off the bench.

Helping lead Angola all the way up until reaching the semifinals only narrowly losing 2nd place behind Cameroon 83–79 on aggregate despite having homecourt advantage thanks to winning Group F together.

With Guinea Bissau and Mali while also beating Senegal 92–86 in Bamako prior whilst scoring 18 points with 7 rebounds shooting 6/11 FGs 3/3 FTs including 5 assists #afrobasket2017.

David Dias is an Angolan power forward and center who played in the Portuguese Liga for 15 seasons. Dias led his club, Barreirense, to two championships during his playing career.

He was also a part of Angola's national team which participated in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and 2006 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. 

In 2003, David Dias retired from professional play after suffering a serious knee injury that ended his footballing career at 33 years old David Dias is a retired basketball player who represented Angola at the international level.

David Dias played for several teams, including Cairo 1992, Tunis 1987 and Dakar 1997. David Dias was born in Luanda, Angola in 1965 and died there in 2018 after a long career playing professional basketball. 

David Dias helped lead his country to success at the African Under-18 Championship in 1987 and the AfroBasket tournament in 1989. After retiring from playing professionally, David Dias worked as an assistant coach with clubs across Africa before he passed away in 2018 aged 60 years old.

Victoriano is a retired Angolan basketball player who played for several clubs in his country. Victoriano was one of the most prolific scorers in Angola's history, and he helped lead Primeiro de Agosto to three championship titles.

After retiring from playing, Ângelo Victoriano served as the head coach of Petro Atlético for two seasons before joining Queluz midway through the 2006 season. 

At 6' 3" and weighing 247 pounds, ÂngeloVictoriano had an imposing physical presence on the court that made him a difficult opponent to stop.

Despite being born in 1968, Ângelo Victorious debuted with Primeiro de Agosto when he was just 17 years old and went on to play for five other top-flight clubs throughout his career Victoriano was born on February 17, 1975 in Luanda. 

He played for the Angola national basketball team at the FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship in 1987 and 1989.

Victoriano also competed at the AfroBasket competition where he helped his country win a silver medal in 1992 and 1993. In 1995, he joined forces with fellow Angolan players Mário Santos and Francisco de Assis to help their team capture gold at the Algerian championships. 

Victório represented Angola again during 1999's edition of the African Clubs Champions Cup, as well as 2001's FABAC Tournament held in Luanda, both times winning titles along with 1º de Agosto club teams from Lagos and Cairo respectively.

On July 2nd 2005,Victoriano led his country to its first ever title by defeating Tunisia 82–68 in Alexandria after trailing early on but coming back to force overtime (101–98). 

It is considered one of Angola's most memorable moments due to its historical context; it was only the second time an African nation had won a FIBA championship game against another continent.

While playing under current eligibility rules which allowed any age player regardless of nationality or residency status within that continent/region.- His individual numbers include: points scored (1123), rebounds (723), assists (346) blocks (158) FG% (.540).

In 2013 Ángelo Victoriano retired from professional basketball after 15 seasons with Lusaka Chainguensa Sharks FC competing professionally since 1998.

Victor Muzadi is a power forward who has played in Angola, Gabon, and Portugal. He was born on June 22nd 1978 in Libreville, Gabon and raised in Angola before moving to Portugal when he was 18 years old.

In 2000 Victor joined Primeiro de Agosto where he would play for four seasons before joining Petro Atlético in 2007. With Petro Atlético Victor won two Portuguese Championships (2007-2008) and one Cup (2009).

In 2010 Victor transferred to Interclube where he would play until 2013 when ASA signed him up as a free agent. 

Victor made his debut with the Angolan national team at the age of 20 during the 2001 Africa Cup of Nations qualification games against Morocco which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes without goals being scored so both teams progressed to future tournaments through goal difference if necessary; this match marked his first international cap for his country.

Victor's impressive performances with AS Roma led by head coach Rudi Garcia saw him earn himself an Italian citizenship along with winning Serie A twice consecutively from the 2012-2013 season culminating in Coppa Italia final victory over.

Napoli that year scoring 5 goals including 2 decisive penalties shootout goals helping AS Roma become only team ever to retain their title three consecutive times across Europe's top five leagues having finished 1st each time.

Armando Costa is a professional basketball player who has played for various clubs in his native Angola and Portugal. Armando was born on June 3, 1983 in Luanda, Angola.

He first came to prominence with Queluz of the Portuguese Liga ACB before transferring to Primeiro de Agosto of the African Champions Cup in 2006. 

He has since continued playing internationally for 1º de Agosto as well as appearing domestically for both clubs he's represented throughout his career; most recently being part of their successful run to the 2017 BIC Basket League title.

Armando currently stands at 6'0" and weighs 191 pounds, making him an athletic point guard capable of scoring inside or out from anywhere on the court. 

Outside of basketball, Armando enjoys spending time with friends and family, hunting cats (his favorite animal), listening to music - especially Brazilian funk - cooking traditional African dishes and watching action films.

Mílton Barros has been a key player for Benfica do Libolo in the BIC Basket league and Africa Champions Cup. He is also known for his defensive abilities, which have helped him to win several titles with Petro Atlético and Recreativo do Libolo.

Mílton was born in 1984 in Cacongo, Angola. After playing basketball for some time in his homeland, he moved to Portugal to play ball professionally. In 2000, Mílton joined Petro Atlético where he spent three seasons before moving on to Monção Basket Clube in 2004.

From there, he made a move back to Petro Atlético before joining Recreativo do Libolo in 2011 as their point guard/assistant coach under head coach Carlos Alberto Silva Rosa (who would later become the club's new head coach). 

In 2013-14 season Mílton signed with Spanish team CB Murcia but returned after one month due to an injury sustained by teammate Luisinho while playing against Real Madrid Baloncesto Club at Palau Sant Jordi stadium during their Liga ACB match on November 20th of that year.

this caused Benfica owner Manuel Júlio da Costa to accuse CB Murcia of stealing players from Benfica without giving them any information about the player's transfer or medical examination results prior to taking part.

The said game played out over 3 days span starting October 30th through November 2nd inclusive; though it should be noted that both teams fielded reserve players.

Who only had minutes scheduled off because they were not needed during those particular games as per normal roster rotation rules currently enforced within Portuguese top flight professional basketball leagues).

Though considered primarily a point guard by most analysts and observers due not just defensively being able thereto but also for his distributing skills from behind the arc.

Often drawing multiple defenders towards him opening up space inside either off cuts or penetration opportunities down low.

Barros has averaged 15 points per game throughout his career although never reaching double figures scoring totals more than once(in fact even registering single digit averages 5 times).

Nevertheless, he remains an important cog within whichever team employs him given how well-rounded his offensive arsenal truly is besides possessing above.

Average athleticism allowing him excellent speed burst getting past opposing defenses when necessary along with good leaping ability finishing around the basket either using hooks shots taken close to the hoop or floaters banked into tight spaces despite contact coming high off glass.

Víctor de Carvalho is a shooting guard who played for Petro Atlético from 2000 to 2010. De Carvalho was born in Luanda, Angola and played his club basketball with Petro Atlético before moving on to play for several other teams around the continent.

In 2009, he won the Africa Champions Cup with Petro Atlético and also represented Angola at the 2004 Olympic Games where he finished 5th in the men's tournament. Víctor de Carvalho currently plays professional basketball in Spain with Club Baloncesto Sevilla Basket (CASB).

Víctor de Carvalho is a retired Angolan basketball player who represented his country at the FIBA Africa Championship, the African Cup of Champions Clubs, and the FIBA Club World Championships. He was born in Luanda on February 10, 1965 and played for Petro Atlético during his career.

De Carvalho won several titles with Petro Atlético including the 2006 Nigerian Super League championship as well as the 2007 Afrobasket title and 2009 CAF Confederations Cup. 

He also played for Angola at two consecutive editions of the FIBA Africa Championship (1993-1995) and three times at the African Cups of Champions Clubs (Algiers 1995, Lusaka 1997, Dakar 1997).

After finishing his playing career in 2008 he became an assistant coach with Petro Atlético then took over as head coach following José Manuel dos Santos' s resignation in January 2013.

Gerson Monteiro is a Portuguese-Angolan professional footballer who played as a forward. He began his career with Barreirense in 1991, and later played for Ovarense, Petro Atlético, and Beira-Mar.

Monteiro retired from playing following the 2010 season, having won two Primeira Liga titles and three Taça de Portugal crowns during his time in the top flight of Portuguese football. He represented Angola at international level on five occasions between 2002 and 2006.

Monteiro was born in Benguela Province, Angola but grew up in Lisbon before moving to Spain to play for Racing Santander (2000–2001) and Ovarianese (2001). 

On July 12th 2003 he scored an 88th minute equaliser against Porto which helped Ovarense win their first ever league title after being promoted from the second division.

This goal has been voted into UEFA's list of all-time great European goals by UEFA staff members several times over the years.

Monteiro announced his retirement from professional football on May 9th 2010 at age 36 due to persistent injuries sustained throughout his career including cartilage damage that required surgery twice in 2009.

However he did make one final appearance as a substitute against Gil Vicente on November 1st 2010.

Edmar Victoriano was born in Luanda, Angola in 1975. He played for Petro Atlético from 2001-2004 and Primeiro de Agosto from 2004-2006. Victoriano is a power forward who has represented his country at international level on several occasions.

In 2006 he moved to Spain and signed with Spanish side Racing Santander where he played until 2009 when he joined Greek side Olympiacos Piraeus. 

Since 2010, Victoriano has been playing for Turkish club Fenerbahçe Süper Lig as of the 2016/17 season Edmar Victoriano is a retired Angolan basketball player who played in the Men's Basketball tournament at the AfroBasket.

He represented Angola during three consecutive tournaments, starting with Algiers 1995 and finishing with Luanda 1999. 

Victorio also competed in the 2001 edition of FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup where his team reached the final before losing to Cairo giants 1º de Agosto. In 2002, Edmar Victoriano helped lead 1º de Agosto to victory in the inaugural edition of AFrobasket, which took place in Luanda.

The veteran forward last played for Angola at Alexandria 2003 where they finished 5th overall after beating Tunisia but losing to eventual champions Egypt.

Vander Joaquim was born in Luanda, Angola on April 15th 1990. Vander Joaquim played college basketball for the USU Eastern Wildcats from 2009 to 2013 and then went undrafted in the NBA Draft that year.

Vander Joaquim has since joined Angolan side Petro de Luanda where he plays center for their Basketball Africa League and Angolan league teams. He is also a member of the national team which finished 5th at this year's African Championships held in Morocco.

Vander Joaquim stands at 2m10 (6ft 10in) tall and weighs 108kg (238lb). His impressive stats include averaging 12 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block per game over 3 seasons with USU Eastern Wildcats while shooting 44% from FG%. Vander Joaquim was born in Luanda, Angola.

Vander Joaquim started his career at Petro Atlético before joining Recreativo do Libolo in 2014. After two years with Recreativo, he joined Obras Sanitarias for the 2017-2018 season. Vander Joaquim has played for STB Le Havre since 2018 and is currently playing for Petro de Luanda as well.

Hermenegildo Santos is a professional basketball player who plays for Primeiro de Agosto in the BIC Basket league. He was born in Angola and played college ball at Libolo before joining Primeiro de Agosto in 2017.

Santos has represented Angola at an international level, playing in the Africa Champions Cup and the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. He is known as one of the best point guards in African basketball, and his performances have seen him called up to represent his country on several occasions.

Hermenegildo Santos is an experienced player with experience playing against top competition from around the world, which will be crucial if he wants to lead Primeiro de Agosto to success this season Santos is a professional basketball player who has represented Angola at the AfroBasket and African Games tournaments.

Santos was also part of the national team that finished as runners-up in the Radès 2015 tournament. In 2019, Santos helped Mali to win their first African Games title. 

Outside of basketball, Santos is known for his work with charities and disadvantaged children in his home country of Angola.
