The Zambian national soccer team is one of Africa’s most successful teams, having reached the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations three times and winning it once in 2012.

Representing the nation of Zambia, the team is known as the Chipolopolo, or the “Copper Bullets,” in reference to the country’s large copper industry. The team has a long history of success, with its first international match taking place in 1937, and has become an important source of national pride.

After a successful youth career with Cardiff City, Robert Earnshaw made his senior debut for the Bluebirds in 1998. He spent four seasons at Cardiff before moving to West Bromwich Albion in 2000.

After two years there, he joined Norwich City and played 45 times over three seasons. In 2007, Earnshaw signed for Aston Villa and helped them qualify for Europe for the first time in their history.

He left Villa at the end of the 2009–10 season and has since had spells with Sunderland, Derby County, and QPR, totaling 206 appearances across all competitions. At the international level, Earnshaw has represented Zambia 34 times, scoring 15 goals.

Since leaving professional football in December 2013, Robert Earnshaw has been working as a coach with Bristol Rovers academy.

Christopher Katongo is a Zambian international striker who has played for Green Buffaloes and Jomo Cosmos. Christopher Katongo made his debut for the Green Buffaloes in 2001, and went on to score 20 goals in 75 appearances for the team over two seasons.

In 2004, Christopher Katongo moved to Japan to join Jomo Cosmos where he scored 36 goals in 72 appearances over four years. 

After leaving Jomo Cosmos, Christopher Katogo had spells with Kitwe United and Nkana FC before retiring from professional football at the end of the 2010 season.

Christopher Katongo represented Zambia at all levels up until senior level, including making three appearance as part of the country's 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign which ended in failure.

Kalusha Bwalya was the President of Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) from 2008 to 2016. He played as a forward and winger for several clubs in his career, including Mufulira Wanderers, Chingola United and Nkana F.C.

After retiring from football, Bwalya became an administrator with FAZ. He has been credited with helping to improve the national team's performance during his tenure at the FAZ helm. 

Kalusha Bwalya will retire from his current role with FAZ at the end of this year after serving two consecutive terms in office.

Bwalya played in the Zambian Premier League for Mufulira Blackpool from 1979 to 1985. He then transferred to Belgian side Cercle Brugge, where he spent five seasons before moving to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in 1989. 

In 1994, he signed with American club América and went on to make 88 appearances for them over two seasons.

In 1997, Bwalya moved abroad again and joined Mexican outfit Necaxa as their head coach, leading them to a 17th-place finish in his only season at the helm. 

After leaving Necaxa, Bwalya returned home and managed Irapuato until 1999 before taking up coaching positions with Veracruz (2000) and Correcaminos (2003-2006). 

As of 2016 Kalusha is currently manager of Zambia national team having led them into Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers as well as Africa Cup of Nations tournament qualifying games so far this year.

Emmanuel Mayuka is a Zambian international striker who currently plays for Green Buffaloes in the Zambian Premier League. He has represented his country at youth level, and made his senior debut for Southampton in 2012.

After spells with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Young Boys, he moved to England to join Southampton in 2012. Emmanuel scored his first goal for the Saints on his competitive debut against Birmingham City, helping them secure a 3-1 victory.

Since then, he has gone on to make 16 appearances for the club across all competitions - scoring two goals - before departing at the end of 2015 due to injury.. Emmanuel Mayuka started his playing career with SuperSport United in Zambia.

Emmanuel made a big-money move to French side Sochaux in 2013 and had loan spells at Metz and Zamalek before joining Hapoel Ra'anana for the 2017–2018 season.

Kings Kangwa is a Zambian international footballer who currently plays for Serbian side Red Star Belgrade. He made his senior debut for Zambian side Nchanga Rangers in 2016 and has since played for Red Star Belgrade, Mamelodi Sundowns and Zanetti.

Godfrey Chitalu was an influential forward in the Zambian Football League who played for clubs such as Lusaka Stars and Power Dynamos. Chitalu was born in Luanshya, Northern Rhodesia in 1947, and died in 1993 while playing in the Gabon International Cup.

He was a dynamic and powerful forward who was known for his knack of scoring goals. Chitalu is best remembered for his time with Lusaka Stars, where he helped the club win two league titles and the Independence Cup. 

Chitalu also represented Zambia at international level, and helped the country to qualify for the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations.

He is survived by his wife and three children. Chitalu's death has left a lasting impact on Zambian football, and his legacy will be remembered fondly by fans and teammates alike.

Jacob Mulenga is a Zambian forward who played for Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie from 2010 to 2014. Mulenga was born in Zambia in 1984, and started his career with Afrisport in 2000.

Hijani Himoonde was born on 1 August 1986 in Ndola, Zambia. Hijani began his career playing for Lusaka Dynamos in 2006. In 2007, he joined Zanaco Lusaka.

Francis Kasonde is a Zambian international centre-back. He has previously played for Zesco United and Power Dynamos. Kasonde was born in Kitwe in 1986. Kasonde made his international debut for Zambia in 2004.

Neil Gregory was born on October 7th 1972 in Ndola, Zambia. Gregory started his career at Ipswich Town in 1992. He played for the club for four seasons before moving to Crystal Palace in 1996.

Gregory spent six seasons at Palace before joining Blackburn Rovers in 2004. He played for Blackburn for six seasons before retiring in 2011. Gregory has since worked as a football pundit for BBC and ITV.

Neil Gregory was named Zambia Footballer of the Year in 1998 and 2002. He was also part of the Zambia squad that competed at the 1998 World Cup. Gregory has two children. Neil Gregory was a prolific goalscorer during his time at Ipswich Town, scoring 36 goals in total.

Freddie Mwila was born in Kasama, Northern Rhodesia in 1946. He started his career with Wusakile Youth Club before joining Atlanta Chiefs in 1967. Mwila played for Ndola United from 1973 to 1977.

He made his international debut for Rhodesia in 1970 and played for the country until its independence in 1980. Mwila retired from professional football in 1977. He has since worked as a football coach and administrator.

He was awarded the Order of the Star of Africa in 2007. Freddie Mwila was inducted into the National Sports Hall of Fame in Zambia in 2012. He currently resides in Zimbabwe. Freddie Mwila started his career with Zambia's Ndola United in 1973.

He was manager of Nkwazi F.C. from 1978 to 1979. He then went on to manage Zambia's Power Dynamos from 1986 to 1990. 

Freddie then had a short stint with Circuit Chiefs from 1990 to 1992. He then returned to Power Dynamos from 1992 to 1993. Freddie then moved to Botswana to manage Township Rollers from 1993 to 1996.

He then returned to Zambia to manage Zanaco from 1998 to 1999. Freddie then moved to Lusaka Dynamos in 2000. He retired from professional football in 2003.

Chaswe Nsofwa was born in Zambia on October 22nd 1978. He began his career at Zanaco before moving to Israel to join Be'er Sheva in 2003. He made his debut for the Israeli national team in 2004 and went on to make 36 appearances.

Chaswe Nsofwa was killed in a car accident in 2007 aged just 28. His death shocked the football world and he was posthumously awarded the Israel Football Association's prestigious Gold Medal. Chaswe Nsofwa is remembered as one of the most talented and successful Israeli strikers of his era.

His death has inspired the establishment of the Chaswe Nsofwa Memorial Foundation, which supports young footballers from Zambia. 

Chaswe Nsofwa is survived by his wife and two children. Chaswe Nsofwa is a Zambian football player who has played for clubs in his country and in international competition.

He began his career with Zanaco, playing in the Zambian Premier League and the African Cup of Nations. After leaving Zanaco, Nsofwa signed with Krylia Sovetov in Russia, where he played in the Russian Premier League and the Russian Cup. 

He next moved to Malaysia, where he played for Telekom Malaysia. Nsofwa then moved to Israel, where he played for Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

He is currently a free agent and is looking for a new club. Nsofwa has made 33 appearances for Zambia, scoring nine goals. He represented his country at the African Cup of Nations in 2002 and 2004. Nsofwa is a reliable midfielder who is known for his passing and long shots.

Moses Sichone was born on 31 May 1977 in Mufulira, Zambia. Moses Sichone started his career with Zambia, playing for the team from 1997 to 2002. Moses Sichone then played for Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and Malawi, before returning to Zambia in 2007.

In 2009, Moses Sichone was appointed assistant manager of Zambia. Moses Sichone retired from professional football in 2012.

Miguel Chaiwa is a Zambian footballer who currently plays for Swiss side Young Boys. Miguel began his career with his local side Luanshya before signing with Belgian side KVC Westerlo in 2013.
