Alexander Ovechkin is a professional ice hockey player who plays for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for Russian teams including Moscow Dynamo, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Tver Kontinental.

In 2007, he was selected as Russia's best young player and in 2009 he became its first ever male athlete to be named Athlete of the Year. Ovechkin has won two Olympic gold medals (2010, 2016) and three World Championships (2007, 2010, 2013).

He holds the record for most goals scored in an NHL season with 286; this was broken by Sidney Crosby in 2017. 

In 2018, he won his fourth Hart Memorial Trophy as NHL MVP Award making him only the second player after Wayne Gretzky to win four awards consecutively on one team (the other being Mario Lemieux).

Alexander Ovechkin is a professional ice hockey player who played for the Washington Capitals of the NHL. He was drafted first overall in 2004 and has since become one of the game's most dominant players. 

Alexander Ovechkin has been a key part of two Stanley Cup-winning teams (2010 with Washington, 2012 with Dynamo Moscow), as well as several other playoff appearances and championships.

Known for his powerful shot and goal-scoring ability, Alexander Ovechkin is also known for his leadership qualities on and off the ice, having served as captain of both the Capitals and Russia national teams at various points in his career.

John Carlson is a highly skilled and experienced defenseman who has played in the NHL for eight seasons. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2008, and has since become one of their most important players.

Carlson is known for his puck-moving ability and strong defensive play, which have led to him being named to multiple All-Star teams and winning two Stanley Cups with the Capitals (2011, 2018). 

In 2019, he signed a three-year contract extension with the Capitals that will keep him with them through 2024.

Outside of hockey, Carlson enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. John Carlson was drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2008 and has since played for them in the NHL.

Jaromír Jágr is a Czech winger who has played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, HC Bolzano, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers and Dallas Stars in his career.

Jaromír Jágr was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the 1990 NHL Draft. He made his professional debut with Rytíři Kladno in 1989-90 before joining HC Bolzano two years later.

In 1996, Jaromír Jágr joined the Washington Capitals as one of their first-ever international players and helped them reach the Stanley Cup Finals that year. 

After three seasons with Washington, he moved to New York Rangers where he spent six seasons before moving on to Dallas Stars in the 2009-10 season.

After spending just one season with Dallas Star Jaromír Jágr is a Slovak-born Czech professional ice hockey player who has played his entire career in the NHL. 

Jágr was drafted fifth overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1990 and made his debut with them that same year. He has since won two Stanley Cups (1991, 1992) and one Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the playoffs (2002).

Jágr also represented Czechoslovakia at three Olympic Games, winning a silver medal at Nagano in 1998 and gold medals at Turin in 2006 and Sochi in 2014. 

In 2017 he announced his retirement from professional ice hockey after playing 19 seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Murphy was a Norris Trophy winner as the best defenceman in the NHL in 1988. 

He played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks before retiring after the 2002-03 season.

Murphy has been inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. 

In 2010 he became an assistant coach with his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs team Larry Murphy was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1980 and played for them until 2001.

He won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 1993 and was also an All-Star several times throughout his career. 

After leaving the NHL, Murphy went on to play for teams in Europe including spells with the Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings.

In 2002 he retired from professional hockey after playing 18 seasons across all levels of competition. 

Larry Murphy is now a broadcaster for Hockey Night in Canada where he covers both Canadian provincial championships as well as international matches featuring Team Canada.

Adam Oates is a two-time winner of the Stanley Cup as part of the Montreal Canadiens. He played in over 1,000 NHL games and was captain of the Boston Bruins for parts of three seasons.

Oates was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, his first year eligible. After retirement from hockey, he became an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils where he served until 2017 when he joined HC Kladno as head coach.

Adam Oates currently resides in Weston with his wife Kelly and their children Sydney and Brody Adam Oates played for the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers over a ten-year career.

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. Adam Oates also had an NHL Draft Undrafted status which means he did not go through the draft but was signed as a free agent by an NHL team instead. Adam Oates retired after playing with Edmonton Oilers in 2004 season.

Marcus Johansson was born in Landskrona, Sweden on October 6th, 1990. He played youth hockey with his local team before moving to North America to play for the Washington Capitals of the NHL in 2006.

After playing three seasons with Washington, he was traded to the New York Islanders in 2011 where he spent four seasons and won a Stanley Cup championship in 2015. 

Johansson then signed with the Vegas Golden Knights as a free agent ahead of their inaugural season in 2017-18 and has since helped them win two more championships (2018 and 2019).

Marcus is married to Victoria Dahlström and they have one child together - a son Elias who was born in 2018. In addition to his hockey career, Marcus is also an accomplished musician having released two albums – One Night Only (2015) and Life As We Know It (2017).

Dylan Strome is a centre for the Arizona Coyotes. He was drafted by the team in 2015 with their first-round pick, 10th overall. After playing two seasons with the London Knights of the OHL, he made his NHL debut in 2017–18 and recorded 18 points (8 goals and 12 assists) in 58 games played.

In 2018–19, he appeared in all 82 games for Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL and scored 46 points (23 goals and 21 assists). This earned him a call up to play 14 games with Arizona Coyotes before returning to Tucson on February 27th 2019.

Despite being 24 years old, Strome has already established himself as one of Canada's top young hockey players Dylan Strome was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 3rd round of the 2015 NHL Draft.

Dylan started his career with the Washington Capitals, but he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes in 2016. He has played for both teams since then and is currently playing for Arizona. 

Dylan has had a successful hockey career so far, scoring 116 points (48 goals and 74 assists) in 214 games played. He is a left winger who likes to score goals and make plays on the ice; he's an exciting player to watch.

Louis Blues, and currently plays for the Nashville Predators. Oshie was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2005 and made his NHL debut with them that year against the Colorado Avalanche. 

In 2008 he signed with the Washington Capitals as a free agent after playing one season with their AHL affiliate Hershey Bears where he had scored 50 goals in 54 games. 

Oshie has since become an integral part of both teams and has won two Stanley Cups (with Washington in 2017 and Nashville in 2018).

He also represented Team USA at both World Championships (2014 &2018) as well as Olympic Games (2016). 

Due to his offensive prowess, T J Oshie is often compared to another former Blues player - Brett Hull - who himself was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last year.

In 2022, he moved to the Vegas Golden Knights where he currently plays as a centre. Nicklas Bäckström is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who plays for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). 

He was drafted by the Capitals in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL Draft.

Bäckström has previously played for Brynäs IF and Dynamo Moscow in Sweden, as well as playing with HC Davos during his Swiss junior career. In 2004, he made his North American debut with Washington's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears. 

The following year, he made his NHL debut with Washington and has since established himself as one of Washington's top players.

At international level, Bäckström has represented Sweden at numerous tournaments including World Championships and Winter Olympics games both on home soil and abroad; most notably winning a gold medal at Sochi 2014 Olympic Games representing Sweden alongside teammates Daniel Sedin and Henrik Zetterberg.

Nicklas' younger brother Johan also plays ice hockey professionally; he currently plays for Modo Hockey of the SHL in Sweden.

Stevens currently works as a color commentator for NHL games on TSN/RDS television networks across Canada Scott Stevens was a star defenseman in the NHL for many years, and he won several awards along the way.

He played for Washington Capitals from 1982 to 2004. Scott Stevens represented Canada at several international tournaments, including the World Championships and the Canada Cup. In 1996, he helped Team Canada win the World Cup of Hockey tournament.

After his professional career ended, Scott Stevens became an analyst on NHL broadcasts for Fox Sports Net America.

Côté is currently the president of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Côté has also been a television commentator for the NHL on NBC. 

Sylvain Côté was drafted by the Hartford Whalers with the 11th overall pick in the 1984 NHL Draft. He played for the Whalers for eight seasons before moving on to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks.

Côté was a very skilled player and was known for his fast skating and strong puck handling. He was a key player on the teams he played for and was a regular on the NHL All-Star team. Côté retired from the NHL in 2003 after playing for the Dallas Stars. 

He has since gone on to play in Europe, where he has had successful seasons. Côté is now a coach with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Garnet Hathaway is a forward for the Washington Capitals. Hathaway was drafted by the Capitals in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
