The University of Wisconsin-Madison basketball team is one of the most successful programs in the nation. With a rich history of championships and NCAA tournament appearances, the Badgers have been a perennial powerhouse in the Big Ten conference. Led by head coach Greg Gard, the team is known for its hard-nosed defense and high-octane offense.

The Badgers have won two Big Ten regular-season titles, two Big Ten tournament titles, and have made 11 NCAA tournament appearances since Gard took over in 2014. The team has also produced several All-Americans, including recent stars like Bronson Koenig, Nigel Hayes, and Ethan Happ.

With a strong tradition of success, the University of Wisconsin-Madison basketball team continues to be a perennial title contender.

Micah Potter was born on April 6, 1998, in Mentor, Ohio. Potter attended high school at Mentor High School before transferring to Montverde Academy for his senior season.

At Montverde Academy, Potter led the team to a National Championship as a junior and was named MVP of the tournament as a senior. 

In August 2018, it was announced that Micah Potter had signed with the Utah Jazz following his freshman year at Duke University where he averaged 11 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting over 50% from three-point range en route to being named ACC Freshman of the Year and All-ACC First Team selection.

With Utah's summer league squad, Potter averaged 14 points (on 54% shooting) and nine rebounds in just 21 minutes per game across five games played this past July/August. 

He has since been elevated onto the main roster for their upcoming regular season campaign which starts October 17th against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kaminsky was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Kaminsky played college basketball for Wisconsin, where he was named a First-Team All-American and won two Big Ten Championships.

In his rookie season, Kaminsky averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Hornets. Kaminsky has since moved to Atlanta and continued to be a key player for them in 2017–2018, averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Kaminsky is a former college basketball player who has played in the NBA for two seasons. He was named a consensus first-team All-American and won several awards during his time at Wisconsin, including being named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2015.

Kaminsky was drafted 44th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in 2015, after playing three seasons with Wisconsin where he averaged 17.8 points and 7 rebounds per game. 

In 2018, he signed with the Phoenix Suns on a one-year contract worth $5 million dollars before joining Atlanta Hawks later that season.

Hughes was a standout player at high school in Freeport, Illinois. He played college basketball for Wisconsin and was drafted by the Buffalo Braves in the third round of the 1974 NBA draft.

Hughes spent most of his career with Olimpia Milano, winning two Italian League championships and appearing in four EuroLeague Finals. Hughes retired from playing professionally after the 1989–90 season and later served as head coach of several teams in Europe and Asia.

Kim Hughes coached in the ABA and NBA. In the ABA, he led the New York/New Jersey Nets to an championship in 1976. He also had a successful stint as head coach of Denver Nuggets from 1978-1980 before moving on to Cleveland Cavaliers for two seasons. 

After leaving coaching, Kim Hughes went on to have a distinguished playing career with various Italian teams including Virtus Roma and Basket Reggio Calabria where he won titles consecutively between 1983-1988 en route to becoming one of Europe’s most decorated players ever at age 33.

Kim Hughes passed away at just 61 years old due to complications following open heart surgery earlier this year after being diagnosed with prostate cancer just six months prior.

Jonathan Davis is a shooting guard/small forward who played college basketball for Wisconsin. He was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the 2022 NBA draft and has since played for them throughout his career.

Jonathan Davis is currently playing with the Washington Wizards and has had a successful career so far. Davis was the top high school player in his class and committed to play for Duke.

 Davis averaged 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a freshman at Duke and led the Blue Devils to an ACC title.

After one season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Davis was traded to Memphis Grizzlies where he became a key contributor on their playoff team in 2017-2018. 

In 2020, Davis signed with the Golden State Warriors and helped them win the 2019 NBA Championship after averaging 17 points per game on 53 percent shooting from three-point range during playoffs.

Ethan Happ was born on May 7, 1996 in Milan, Illinois. He attended high school at Rockridge (Taylor Ridge, Illinois) and played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers.

He was drafted by the Olympiacos Basket Club of Greece in 2019 but did not sign with them and instead joined the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2020–21 NBA season. Ethan Happ has been a key player for the Bucks this season and is averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

Ethan Happ is a senior forward for Vanoli Cremona in the Italian Serie A. He was named consensus second-team All-American and third-team All-American by both the Associated Press (AP) and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). 

Ethan Happ won the Pete Newell Big Man Award, which goes to the best big man in Italy’s top professional league, as well as Kareem Abdul Jabbar Award, given annually to Europe’s top center.

Ethan Happ has twice been selected first team all Big Ten Conference while also earning honorable mention accolades from media members on three occasions each over his four years at Purdue University. 

The Chicago native started every game he played during his freshman campaign before breaking out as one of college basketball’s most dominant frontcourt players with unanimous.

First Team All American honors as a sophomore followed by becoming just the sixth player ever to earn Third Team AP and NABC recognition unanimously following his junior season.

Michigan State defeated #1 Kansas 73–68 in overtime on February 25th 2019 in what would be Happs final collegiate game (#15 PENN STATE 85 – WISCONSIN 67) In 35 games played (34 starts), he averaged 18 points (7th nationally), 10 rebounds per game, 1 block shot per contest.

While shooting 53% from field and 38% from 3 point range en route to being voted 2nd Team Final Four MVP after leading Penn State straight back into NCAA Tournament contention following their 8 year absence prior to his Senior season.

Kirk Penney is a 42-year-old New Zealander who has played for the Auckland Tuatara in the NZNBL since 2003. He was originally drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks but did not sign with them and instead opted to play college basketball in Wisconsin.

After two years of playing NCAA ball, Kirk decided to turn pro and signed with North Harbour Kings of the National Basketball League (NZNBL). He spent three seasons there before signing with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2005 where he remained until 2013 when he retired due to injury.

In total, Kirk has played over 650 games in his 10-year professional career and averaged 9 points per game while shooting 43% from behind the arc Kirk Penney is a professional basketball player who has played for various teams over the years. He began his career with the Miami Heat in 2003 and continued to play with them until 2004.

He then moved on to Gran Canaria where he spent two seasons before joining the Asheville Altitude in 2005. In 2006, he joined Maccabi Tel Aviv and stayed there for three seasons before moving to Žalgiris Kaunas in 2007. 

After playing two seasons with Žalgiris, Penney rejoined the Breakers in 2010 and remained with them until 2011 when he signed with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada of Spain's Liga ACB League as well as appearing for New Zealand at the 2012 London Olympics Games that year.

Returning home, Kirk again joined the Breakers alongwith former teammate Chris Goulding midway through 2013 season after being released by Trabzonspor of Turkey’s Euroleague Basketball Division 1 Group A competition; 

they led their team to an appearance in Auckland’s semi-final playoff game against Melbourne United but lost 89–83 due to Goulding fouling out just four minutes into overtime which cost him a place on Team NZ at Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games games (he was later included on Kiwi provisional squad).

In January 2014, Penney signed with TED Ankara Kolejliler but left after one season citing family reasons; it was announced during this time that Kirk had married long term partner Allana.

Hardyly whom he met whilst living in Madrid while signing contracts overseas – they have since welcomed their first child together named Harley Quinn (born 16 February 2018). 8 Since returning home from his second stint overseas - having agreed terms ahead of July 2017.

Greg Stiemsma played center for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2008-2015. He was undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft, but was signed by the Wolves as a free agent.

He won two championship rings with the Boston Celtics in 2013 and 2017, and also made an appearance in the 2016 NBA Finals. After his playing career ended, he became a Development Associate for the Timberwolves organization.

Greg Stiemsma was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft. He spent three seasons with the Celtics before being traded to Minnesota Timberwolves in February 2013. 

In his first season with Minnesota, he helped them make it to the playoffs and became an important part of their team defense.

In 2015, he was traded to Toronto Raptors and played there for two seasons before returning to Minnesota as a player development associate for the 2019-present season.

Alando Tucker was born on February 11, 1984 in Joliet, Illinois. He attended Lockport Township High School and played college basketball for Wisconsin from 2002 to 2007.

After being drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 2007 NBA draft, Tucker started his professional career with them before spending time with several other teams over the next six seasons.

In 2017 he signed a two-year contract with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe Üniversitesi and helped them win their first championship title that year. In 2019 he became head coach of UNLV's men's basketball team after previously coaching at Utah State University (2013–2018) and Montana Tech (2015).

Tucker was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2007 and played with them until 2009. He then spent two seasons playing for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds before joining the Iowa Energy for two more years. Tucker then signed a contract with Minnesota Timberwolves, but he only played one game before being released.

He next moved to Spain and joined Gran Canaria where he played from 2011-2015 before returning to Israel to play for Hapoel Eilat in 2017. Tucker has also been an assistant coach at Wisconsin since 2019.

Sam Dekker was drafted 18th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2015 NBA draft. He played college basketball at Wisconsin, where he helped lead the Badgers to consecutive NCAA championships in 2016 and 2017.

In his rookie season with the Rockets, Dekker averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds per game. In 2018–19, Dekker signed with Baskimi Koleji of Turkey’s Basketball Super League (BSL) and led them to their first ever Turkish Cup title.

The 28-year-old forward is currently a member of the London Lions of Europe’s top professional club competition – EuroCup – averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds per game this season so far.. Sam Dekker was a two-time Second Team All-Big Ten player at Wisconsin.

He then played for the Houston Rockets and Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers this season. Dekker has been very productive, averaging 13 points per game off of 47% shooting from the field and 79% from 3 point range in 2018/19 with Cleveland so far.

Dekker is also known for his athleticism and defense, which should help him continue to develop as an all round player in the NBA.

Paul Grant was a standout high school player in Birmingham, Michigan and was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 20th overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft.

Grant spent three seasons playing for the Timberwolves before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001. He then played two seasons with Philadelphia before joining the New York Knicks in 2004.

After spending one season with New York, Grant signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers where he finished his career in 2007-08. In 901 games played over nine years, Paul Grant averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent from 3-point range.

In 2006, he became only second player after Karl Malone to be named an All-NBA First Team selection twice (2001–02 and 2002–03). 

Paul has also been honored numerous times including winning two Olympic gold medals (2000 and 2008) as well as four World Championships titles (1996, 1998, 2000 AND 2002).

Michael Finley was a key player for the Phoenix Suns during his playing career. He was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1995 NBA draft and spent the majority of his career with the team.

He was named to the All-Rookie First Team in 1995 and was a four-time All-Star. He retired in 2010 after playing with the Mavericks for six seasons. He is currently an assistant general manager/vice president of basketball operations for the Dallas Mavericks.

He was born in Illinois and has American citizenship. He is listed at 6'7" and 215 pounds. He has two children. He currently resides in Dallas, TX. Michael Finley was a versatile player who excelled at both shooting and passing. Finley was a four-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion.

He is a member of the Wisconsin Badgers' basketball hall of fame. Finley retired in 2010 after a long career in the NBA.

Devin Harris was born on February 27, 1983 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Harris attended high school at Wauwatosa East and played for the school's basketball team.

Harris played two seasons of college basketball at Wisconsin before being drafted by the Washington Wizards in the 2004 NBA draft. Harris spent six seasons with the Wizards before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2015.

Harris played two seasons with the Blazers before being traded to the Houston Rockets in 2018. Harris finished his NBA career with the Rockets in 2019. Harris has also played for the Mavericks and the Utah Jazz. Harris has won two NBA championships with the Rockets in 2017 and 2018.

Harris is currently a free agent and is considered a possible candidate for the Philadelphia 76ers' coaching position.

Butch was a standout high school player who played college basketball at Wisconsin. He was selected by the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and played for four teams over six seasons.

Butch retired from playing in 2017, but returned to coaching the following year. Butch is currently the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team. Butch was a standout player at Indiana University and was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NBA draft by the Jiangsu Dragons.

Butch was named the NBA D-League Impact Player of the Year in 2010 after leading the Dragons to the playoffs. Butch spent two seasons with the Giants Nördlingen before joining the Ilisiakos in 2009. 

Butch then played for the Bakersfield Jam and the Atléticos de San Germán before joining the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in 2014.

He was a member of the Italian League's Brescia Leonessa team in 2018-19 and helped the team make the playoffs. He has also played for the Shanghai Sharks, Reno Bighorns and Sevilla in the K-League.

Landry was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft. He has also played for the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA.

Traevon Jackson is a Point Guard for the Indiana Pacers. Jackson was born in Westerville, Ohio on December 11, 1992. Jackson played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2011-2015.

In his senior year at Wisconsin, Jackson was named First Team All-American and led the Badgers to their first Big Ten championship in 29 years. After graduating from college, Jackson was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft.

Ben Brust is an American swimmer who specialized in the freestyle events. He emerged to prominence at the 2009 World Championships, where he reached the semifinals in the 200-meter freestyle.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the 200-meter freestyle, but missed the semifinals by a mere 0.06 seconds. He also competed in the 400-meter freestyle, but was eliminated in the semifinals.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he reached the semifinals of the 200-meter freestyle, but was eliminated in the heats of the 400-meter freestyle. He has also won a silver medal in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Jordan Taylor was born on September 30, 1989 in Bloomington, Minnesota. He played college basketball at Wisconsin and was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2012 NBA draft but did not sign with them.

He then played in the NBA Development League for the Delaware 87ers and the Austin Spurs before joining the London Lions in the 2017–18 season. He is currently a point guard with the Lions. Jordan has played in the EuroCup and the BBL.

He has a height of 1.85 metres and a weight of 88 kilograms. Jordan's career has included stops in the NBA Development League, the EuroCup, and the BBL. Jordan is currently 33 years old. Jordan Taylor was a standout player at Minnesota and went on to have a successful career in the NBA.

Krabbenhoft played for the Milwaukee Bucks from 2009-2012. Krabbenhoft has been with the Badgers since 2013. Krabbenhoft has been a part of three NCAA Tournament appearances with the Badgers.

Krabbenhoft was a part of the Wisconsin team that made the Final Four in 2013. Krabbenhoft was a part of the 2018 NCAA Championship team. Krabbenhoft was a part of the Milwaukee Bucks team that made the NBA Playoffs in 2018.

Joe Krabbenhoft is an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. He has been with the program since 2016. Krabbenhoft played basketball at Wisconsin from 1998 to 2000. He was an All-Big Ten selection in his final year. Krabbenhoft later went on to play overseas, including stints in Spain, Korea, and Greece.

He returned to Wisconsin in 2012 and began coaching. He has been with the Badgers ever since. Krabbenhoft has been a part of two Big Ten All-Defensive teams and was also a part of the Wisconsin team that made it to the NCAA tournament in 2016. Claude Gregory was born in Washington, D.C. on December 26, 1958. Gregory attended high school at Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. and played college basketball for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Gregory was drafted by the Washington Bullets in the 1981 NBA draft and played for them from 1981 to 1990. Gregory is best known for his time with the Washington Bullets, where he was a power forward. After his playing career ended, Gregory worked as a commentator for the NBA on TNT.

Gregory was inducted into the Washington D.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. Gregory is married and has two children. Gregory is a spokesperson for the NBA's "I Can't Stop" anti-bullying campaign. Gregory's autobiography, "In the Paint: My Story in Basketball and Life," was published in 2009.

Glen Selbo was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on March 29, 1926. Selbo attended high school in Logan, La Crosse, Wisconsin and then college at Wisconsin. Selbo played football at Wisconsin and then in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Cardinals.

Selbo was a coach at the high school and college level and is best known for his work with the Oshkosh All-Stars. Selbo died on May 29, 1995 in Sun City West, Arizona. 

Glen Selbo was picked 2nd overall in the 1947 BAA draft by the Toronto Huskies. Selbo played 13 games in the NBA with the Denver Refiners during the 1950-51 season.

Selbo averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 assists in his career. Selbo played in the Oshkosh All-Stars and Sheboygan Red Skins during his NBA career. Selbo passed away in 2007 at the age of 85.

Rehfeldt was a high school basketball standout in Chicago and was drafted by the Baltimore Bullets in the 1950 NBA Draft. Rehfeldt spent four seasons with the Bullets and was an integral part of their championship run in the 1955-56 season.

Rehfeldt was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1958-59 season and won another championship with them in the 1959-60 season. Rehfeldt then spent two seasons with the St.

 Louis Hawks and retired from the NBA in the 1962-63 season. Rehfeldt later served as the head coach of the Wisconsin Rapids Mad Ants in the American Basketball Association.

Rehfeldt died in October 1980 after a short battle with cancer. He was a power forward who played in the 1950s. He was a consensus second-team All-American in 1950 and led the NBA in rebounding that year. He also made the All-NBA Second Team that year. 

He played for the Baltimore Bullets and Milwaukee Hawks in the 1950s. He died in 2006 at the age of 79.

Bobby Cook was born on April 1, 1923 in Harvard, Illinois. He attended high school at Harvard in Illinois and played college basketball for Wisconsin. In 1948, he was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the BAA draft but did not sign with them.

Instead, he played for the Milwaukee Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1948 to 1950. He was a guard and forward for the Hawks. After playing in the NBA, he returned to Wisconsin to finish his college education. He retired from playing basketball in the 1950s.

Bobby Cook died on October 11, 2004 at the age of 81. He was remembered as a skilled player who was a key member of the Milwaukee Hawks teams that won two NBA championships. Cook played for the Sheboygan Red Skins in the 1948-1949 season and then coached the team for the 1951-1952 season.

Cook was a standout player at Sheboygan State and was Second-team All-American in 1947. He was drafted in the first round of the 1948 NBA draft by the Chicago Stags but never played in the league. 

Cook coached at Wisconsin-Green Bay and Marquette before becoming the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks in 1978. He coached the Bucks for 10 seasons before being replaced by Rick Majerus in 1988. 

Cook retired from coaching in 1993. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Cook is currently the head coach of the Alaska Aces in the NBA Development League. Cook is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Al Henry was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1949. He attended high school at Hamilton in Memphis, and then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Al Henry began his professional career in 1970 with the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the Bucks until 1974, and then spent a year with the Dallas Mavericks.

Al Henry then spent two years with the Phoenix Suns, before returning to the Bucks in 1978. He played for the Bucks until 1990, and then retired from professional basketball. Al Henry has since worked as a basketball broadcaster for both television and radio.

Al Henry was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. Al Henry was also awarded the prestigious John R. Wooden Award in 2006, which is given to the best male college basketball player in the United States.

Roth was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 3, 1963. He played college basketball for Wisconsin and was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the 1985 NBA draft.

Roth played in the NBA for four seasons with the Spurs and Denver Nuggets. Roth became head coach of the Tasmania JackJumpers in 1995. He has remained in that position ever since.

Roth has led the JackJumpers to two NBL championships (1998 and 2002) and two runner-up finishes (2000 and 2004). Roth is a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.

Roth was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. Roth has also been a television analyst for NBA games. Roth has two children and lives in Tasmania, Australia. Roth began his coaching career in 1995 with the Wisconsin–Platteville Flyers.

He was an assistant coach with the Mavericks from 2000 to 2002. Roth took over as head coach of the Raptors in 2014 and led them to the playoffs in his first season. 

Roth was an assistant coach with the Pistons from 2014 to 2015. He left the Raptors to take over as head coach of Baloncesto Sevilla in 2015.

Roth has extensive coaching experience, having also been an assistant coach with the Mavericks, Grizzlies, and Warriors. Roth is currently the head coach of Baloncesto Sevilla. 

Roth is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Roth is a highly respected coach in the NBA and is widely considered to be one of the brightest young coaches in the league.

Paul Cloyd was born in Madison, Wisconsin on June 13, 1920. He played professional basketball for the Washington Capitols from 1947 to 1949. He later played for the Cincinnati Royals and the Boston Celtics.

He retired from basketball in 1964. Paul Cloyd died on December 28, 2005, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986. Paul Cloyd was 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 180 pounds.

He is widely considered to be one of the best basketball players of all time. Paul Cloyd is a retired American basketball player and one of the best players in history. Paul Cloyd played professional basketball for 7 seasons, most notably with the Kansas City Hi-Spots.

Cloyd retired from basketball in 1951, having played for the Hi-Spots, the Philadelphia Warriors, and the Milwaukee Bucks. After his retirement from basketball, Cloyd worked as a sales representative for a law firm. Cloyd died in 2004 at the age of 70. 

Cloyd was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. Paul Cloyd was a hardworking and versatile player who was able to play both guard and small forward positions.
