The University of Michigan Wolverines men’s ice hockey team is one of the most storied and successful college hockey programs in the United States. Established in 1922 and earning varsity status that same year, the Wolverines have competed in a total of 100 seasons, during which time they have won nine national championships and 22 conference titles.

For over two decades, the Wolverines competed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), before joining the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) from 1981 until 2012.

Despite the move to the Big Ten Conference in 2013, the Wolverines have continued their impressive success and are one of the most competitive teams in college hockey.

Max Pacioretty is a professional ice hockey player who was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007. He has also played for the Ottawa Senators and Vegas Golden Knights.

In 2013, he won the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's leading scorer with 87 points (35 goals and 52 assists). Pacioretty has represented Canada at multiple international tournaments, including three World Championships and two Winter Olympics.

He announced his retirement from professional hockey on February 25th, 2019 after 17 seasons in the NHL Max Pacioretty is a left-handed forward who has played for the Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, HC Ambrì-Piotta and Vegas Golden Knights in his NHL career.

Pacioretty was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens as the 22nd overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft. He made his professional debut with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the Swiss National League A in 2008–09 before joining the Carolina Hurricanes later that season. 

In 2011–12, he led all rookie forwards with 44 points (21 goals and 23 assists) as well as being named to Team USA for their World Championship tournament that year.

The following season, 2012–13, he recorded 41 goals and 63 assists for 106 points over 82 games - good for fourth place among rookies behind John Tavares (NYI), Alex Ovechkin (WAS), and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM). 

On July 1st, 2013, Pacioretty signed a six-year contract extension with Montreal worth an average annual value of $7 million dollars through to 2020–21 which makes him one of hockey's highest-paid players at present day.

In 2017–18 he finished second on the team scoring behind only Max Domi while playing 80 games registering 43 goals and 54 assists for 89 points helping lead Montreal to their 104th Stanley Cup championship.

Dylan Larkin is a 26-year-old American professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL).

He was drafted 8th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and made his debut with them during the 2015–16 season. 

In addition to his time with Detroit, he has also played for HC Kladno in Czech Republic, IK Oskarhamn in Sweden, and EHC München of Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) over four seasons each.

Larkin won gold at both the 2014 World Junior Championship and 2016 Winter Olympics as part of Team USA's triumphant campaign in both tournaments; making him one of only two players ever to win gold at both junior championships (the other being Sidney Crosby). 

After suffering a broken wrist late into 2017–18 season while playing for HC Sochi of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Larkin returned to play 28 games later scoring 16 goals helping lead Detroit to their 11th Stanley Cup championship victory since 1997.

Dylan was born on July 30th 1996 in Waterford Michigan which makes him just 26 years old when this article is written.

Andrew Cogliano is a left-wing player who has played for the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Cogliano has scored over 100 goals in his career, including 97 goals during the 2011-12 season with Anaheim. In 2013 he signed a five-year deal with Toronto worth $25 million dollars. 

Cogliano is an excellent skater who can speed past defenders on his way to scoring chances or setting up teammates for the offense.

His slapshot from close range is also deadly accurate, making him a threat both offensively and defensively at even strength or on power plays. 

Despite being highly productive offensively, some analysts have suggested that Cogliano's game could use more finesse in order to be successful against better competition later in his career;

 however, this criticism seems largely unfounded given his overall production levels throughout his lengthy hockey career thus far.

As one of only two remaining Canadian players currently playing in the National Hockey League (the other being Rick Nash).

Andrew represents not just an important part of North American hockey culture but also contributes significantly to Canada's standing as one of world's top ice hockey nations.

Red Berenson played for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings during a playing career that lasted from 1961 to 1978. After retiring as a player, Red Berenson went on to coach several teams including the Michigan Wolverines.

Red Berenson is widely considered one of the greatest centres in NHL history and was inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. Red Berenson coached for Michigan for over 30 years, amassing an 848-426-92 record. 

During his time at the helm, he led the Wolverines to two NCAA championships and 11 Frozen Four appearances. Red Berenson is most well known for coaching the Detroit Red Wings to their first Stanley Cup in forty five years in 1997. 

He was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009. After retiring from coaching, Red Berenson served as a color commentator on NHL games until 2017 when he retired due to health concerns.

Brendan Morrison was born in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia on August 15th 1975. He played his junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers before being drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1997.

He joined the Chicago Blackhawks after they acquired him as a free agent in 2001 and went on to play 8 seasons with them, registering 309 points (122 goals, 197 assists). 

In 2012 he signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks and retired at the end of that season having played 973 career NHL games scoring 426 goals and 463 assists for 1,067 points overall.

Brendan is currently an assistant coach for Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship 2018 where they are competing in Group A alongside Russia, Slovakia and Germany Brendan Morrison was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 39th round of the 1993 NHL Draft. 

He spent 7 seasons with the Devils, playing in 208 games and scoring 53 goals. In 2002, Morrison was traded to the Vancouver Canucks for future considerations.

He played two seasons with Vancouver before being dealt to Anaheim Ducks in 2004 for draft picks and a player named Trevor Linden. 

Played one season each with Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks before retiring from hockey at age 32 after playing his final game on April 13th 2012 with HC Kladno during Czech Extraliga playoffs against Slavia Praha (1 goal).

Zach Werenski was drafted first overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2016 NHL Draft. Zach Werenski is a skilled defenseman who has been highly touted since he was young.

He played for Lake Erie of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2017-2018 season and had great success, earning rookie of the year honors as well as being named to both AHL All-Star team and league's best defensive team.

Jack Johnson is a defenseman who has played in the NHL for 14 seasons. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, and he has also played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nick Blankenburg is a 24-year-old American weightlifter. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he finished fourth in the men's up to 75 kg category.

Nick was born and raised in Washington, Michigan, and began lifting weights when he was just 12 years old. 

In high school, Nick played football and basketball but found that lifting weights helped him maintain muscle mass during his off seasons from sports; this eventually led him to pursue weightlifting as his primary sport.

As a junior college student, Blankenburg lifted 220 pounds for 3 reps (a world record) at a competition – an event that caught the attention of USA Weightlifting coach Dan Gable who invited him to join the US National Team program shortly afterward. 

After graduating from Hillsdale College with degrees in biology and mathematics, Nick made his Olympic debut competing at the 2015 World Championships where he placed fifth overall with a total lift of 321 kilograms (701 lb).

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Blankenburg improved upon his previous performance by finishing fourth place overall with a total lift of 407 kilograms (902 lb). 

This placement earned him U Sports Male Athlete of The Year honors as well as selection into Canada's national team for next year's Commonwealth Games tournament in Australia. 

Outside of weightlifting competitions – which usually consist of three lifts: squatting barbells overhead weighted on your shoulders using your legs only (the clean).

John Madden is a Canadian-born American football coach and commentator. He has been the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, the Miami Dolphins, and most recently, the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL).

As an NFL coach he has won two Super Bowls with three different teams: Oakland in 2002, Miami in 2006, and Philadelphia in 2008. 

His son Casey was also an NFL player who played for several teams including San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers before retiring at age 27 due to injuries sustained during a preseason game against Seattle Seahawks on August 30th 2007.

John's wife Kimberly attended college at Boston University where she majored in psychology while John earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University playing lacrosse there as well as being captain of their hockey team; they have three children together – Jack (b 1988), Ryan (b 1991) and Kaylee (b 1995). 

In 2010 he became a color commentator for Fox Sports' coverage of NCAA College Football games alongside play-by-play man Jim Nantz after 23 years working exclusively with CBS.

Chris Tamer is a professional ice hockey player who has played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on November 17, 1970 in Dearborn, Michigan and started playing hockey at an early age.

He originally played for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) before being signed by the NHL's Colorado Avalanche in 1995. In 2001 he moved to play with the Phoenix Coyotes where he spent six seasons before retiring in 2006 due to injury.

After retiring from hockey, Chris pursued a career as an insurance agent and is currently working in that field full-time.

Brian Wiseman is a 51-year-old Canadian center who has played for the Chicago Wolves in the National Hockey League (NHL). Wiseman was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 6th round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.

He played four seasons with the Jets before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1991. Wiseman would spend the next ten seasons with the Blackhawks, winning two Stanley Cups in 1995 and 2010.

Jason Botterill played for the Dallas Stars, Atlanta Thrashers, and Calgary Flames in the NHL. Botterill is best known for his time with the Calgary Flames where he helped lead the team to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2005.

David Roberts was drafted in the 6th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues. He made his NHL debut in the 1993-94 season and played for the Blues until 2003-04.

He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the second round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. 

Tambellini made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 2004. He has played for the Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, and Phoenix Coyotes.

Tambellini signed with the San Jose Sharks as a free agent in July 2015. He was traded to the Calgary Flames in February 2017. 

Tambellini played his final NHL game with the Flames in February 2018. He retired from professional hockey in May 2018.

In 2003, Tambellini was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings and would play for them for the next seven seasons. In 2017, Tambellini announced his retirement from professional hockey.

 Muckalt has since gone on to become a successful coach, most recently coaching the Seattle Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League. Muckalt was inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013. He is married with two children.
