Attilio Lombardo is a former Italian footballer who played for several teams during his career. He spent most of his time with Sampdoria, Juventus and Lazio, winning domestic titles with each club.

After retiring from football in 2002, Lombardo has worked as a pundit for various TV networks around the world. In 2015 he was appointed head coach of Serie D side Pro Piacenza but left the position after one season due to poor results.

In 2018 he rejoined Sampdoria as sporting director.[3] Attilio Lombardo was born on 6 January 1966 in Santa Maria la Fossa, Italy.

He started playing football at local club Pergocrema before joining Cremonese ahead of the 1983–84 season where he made 38 appearances scoring 9 goals over three seasons before moving on to play for Sampdoria alongside Gianluca.

Vialli and Filippo Galli during the 1985–89 campaign where he helped them win their first ever Coppa Italia title whilst making 17 league appearances and scoring 2 goals over two seasons followed by spells at Juve (35 apps) and Crystal Palace (43 apps).

Returning to Italy once again Lombardo signed for Lazio alongside fellow countryman Stefano Okaka in 1997 although they were relegated just two years later however despite this disappointment continued to make 32 appearances throughout.

Two more successful campaigns at Laziopolis including being part of Roma’s Treble-winning squad under Zdenek Zeman in 2001 helping him achieve international recognition.

Which led him into coaching roles notably taking charge of Serie D side Pro Piacenza only to leave midway through the 2015-16 season after recording just 5 wins from 25 games leaving many fans disillusioned about future prospects especially given that recently ex-Lazio player.

Simone Inzaghi had taken over management duties going into 2016-17 - much like when Francesco Totti took up a front job managing Roma following injuries sustained by Daniele De Rossi; both times expectations were high however these coaches failed miserably.
