Swansea City A.F.C. are a professional football club based in Swansea, Wales. Founded in 1912, they currently compete in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

The team are nicknamed The Swans and play their home matches at the Swansea.com Stadium, formerly known as the Liberty Stadium. During their history, Swansea have had some highs and lows, including a League Cup win in 2013 and relegation to League Two in 2003.

However, the team are determined to make their way back to the top and are looking forward to the future with optimism.

Cliff Jones was a Welsh winger who played for Everton and England. He is best known for his time at Everton, where he helped the team to win the FA Cup in 1968 and 1969.

He later played for Barcelona before retiring in 1973. After retirement, Jones worked as a television pundit and coach. 

In 2010, he was made an honorary citizen of Swansea by the city's mayor Cliff Jones was a Welsh international and played for Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea Town and Fulham.

Cliff Jones was inducted into the Welsh Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Cliff Jones is considered one of the greatest defenders to have played in English football history and he won two league titles with Spurs as well as three FA Cups during his time at White Hart Lane. 

He also made 59 appearances for Wales between 1954-1969, including helping the nation qualify for their first ever World Cup in 1958 which they went on to win.

After retiring from playing professionally, Cliff Jones became manager of Bedford Town before later becoming assistant manager at Bolton Wanderers.

Joe Allen is a Welsh midfielder who currently plays for Swansea City. Joe Allen started his career with Tenby before joining Swansea City in 2000. Allen has made over 150 appearances for the Swans, scoring 19 goals in the process.

In 2007, he joined Championship side Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal but failed to make an impact and returned to Swansea at the end of the campaign. 

Allen made his Wales debut in November 2016 and scored two goals during UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Belgium and Lithuania respectively.

He was included in Gareth Bale's 23-man squad for Wales' first ever appearance at a World Cup finals when they faced Croatia on 17 June 2018.

Joe Allen has been a key player for Swansea City since joining from Liverpool in 2016. He is known for his passing and ball control, which have helped him become one of the most popular players at the club. 

Allen made his international debut for Wales in 2005 and has since played 74 times, scoring two goals. He was part of the Great Britain Olympic team that competed in Rio de Janeiro earlier this year. 

Joe Allen is likely to leave Swansea City in the next few months as he looks to play more regular football elsewhere.

Ashley Williams is a centre-back who has played for both club and country. Ashley started his career at Tamworth, before moving to West Bromwich Albion in 2001.

He made over 200 appearances for the Baggies, helping them win the 2005 Premier League title and reach the 2006 UEFA Cup Final. In 2007, Williams joined Swansea City on a free transfer after six years with West Bromwich Albion.

After two seasons with Swansea, he signed for Everton in 2011[5] and helped guide them to their first ever FA Cup victory in 2013[6].

Williams left Everton at the end of the 2015–16 season,[7] joining Welsh side Cardiff City on a two-year contract.[8][9] On 4 June 2018 it was announced that he would be leaving Cardiff at the end of his current contract.

He represented Wales at under-21 level before making his senior debut against Slovakia in 2008 and has since earned 36 caps.

He has also appeared as a substitute during Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Bosnia & Herzegovina (2013), Gibraltar (2015) and Israel (2018).

Ben Cabango was born on May 30th, 2000 in Cardiff, Wales. Ben is a defender and currently plays for Swansea City. He had a successful youth career with Newport County, playing over 100 times for the club before moving to Premier League side Swansea City in 2017.

Ben has been capped at Under-17 level by Wales and represented his country at the U18 European Championships last year where they reached the semi-finals. 

Ben is highly rated within Welsh football circles and looks set to make an impact in English football soon enough Ben Cabango is a Welsh international footballer who plays for Swansea City.

Ivor Allchurch was born in Swansea, Wales on October 16th 1929. Ivor Allchurch trained with Swansea football club before moving to England to play for Chelsea and then West Ham United.

After retiring from playing, Ivor Allchurch became a coach at various clubs including Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth before taking over as manager of Swindon Town in 1981. Ivor Allchurch died from cancer 10 years after leaving his position as manager of Swindon Town.

He was 67 years old at the time of his death Ivor Allchurch was a Welsh international who played for his country from 1950 to 1966. 

Ivor Allchurch spent the majority of his career with Swansea Town, where he made 691 appearances and scored 249 goals. Ivor Allchurch represented Wales at two World Cups (1950 and 1954) as well as Euro 1968.

After retiring from playing, Ivor Allchurch served as manager of Cardiff City for three seasons between 1998 and 2001.

Chris Coleman was born on 10 June 1970 in Swansea, Wales. He started his career at Manchester City as a defender before moving to Swansea City in 1991. Coleman made 154 appearances for Swansea and also played for Crystal Palace and Blackburn Rovers during his senior career.

He joined Atromitos as manager in 2016 and has so far led the club to third place in Greece's Super League table Coleman is the manager of Wales and has been in charge since 2008. 

Coleman led Fulham to promotion to the Premier League in 2003, and Coventry City to successive promotions from the Championship in 2007 and 2008.

Coleman was appointed interim manager of Real Sociedad in October 2008 but left two months later after failing to win a game. 

He was then appointed manager of Coventry City for a second time, but resigned during the January 2010 transfer window due to personal reasons unrelated to his job at Coventry City FC In November 2011.

He was named Manager of AEL Limassol following their relegation from Cyprus First Division and guided them back up as champions; however, he left at the end of that season citing family reasons once again. 

On 2 July 2012 Chris Coleman was announced as new Head Coach of Welsh National Team replacing Brian Flynn who took over as head coach for Belgium's national side Euro 2016 qualifiers against Macedonia & Israel respectively 7.

The team finished 3rd behind Scotland & Iceland qualifying for their first-ever major tournament with Croatia awaiting on 9th September 2018 in what would be his last international managing role 8. Coleman stepped down after 8 years leading Wales on 12th September 2018.

Olivier Ntcham is a 26-year-old midfielder who currently plays for Swansea City. He began his career at Chennevières-sur-Marne before moving to US Ormesson in 2008.

In 2010, he joined Paris FC and made over 100 appearances for the club before joining Le Havre AC in 2012. He enjoyed a successful two years with Le Havre, helping them reach the Ligue 1 playoffs in both 2013 and 2014.

After leaving Le Havre, Olivier Ntcham signed for Celtic in January of 2018 and has since been an important part of their side domestically and on continental competition too - including UEFA Champions League qualifying this season where they reached the group stage.

Olivier Ntcham is a French midfielder who currently plays for Celtic. He has played for the France youth teams and made his senior debut in 2017. Olivier Ntcham is known for his excellent passing ability and quick feet, which make him an important part of any midfield unit.

In 2015, he was loaned to Genoa where he impressed with his performances, scoring three goals in 37 appearances. After returning to Celtic in 2017, Ntcham helped them win the Scottish Premiership title that season as well as reaching the Champions League knock-out stages where they were eventually knocked out by Barcelona.

In 2019, he joined Marseille on a temporary deal until the end of the season but has since decided to stay with Swansea City for longer-term reasons despite interest from other clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool. 

Olivier Ntcham has been called up to represent Cameroon at international level four times so far but has yet to make an appearance due to injury or call-ups from France's senior team (which he also qualifies for).

Wilfried Bony is a Ivorian striker who has played for several teams in Europe, most notably Sparta Prague and Swansea City. 

He began his career at Maracanã Bingerville before moving on to play for Cyril Domoraud Academy and then Sparta Prague.

In 2011, he joined Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem where he scored 46 goals in 65 appearances over two seasons. 

He signed for English club Swansea City in 2013 and quickly became a fan favourite with his clinical finishing ability.

Neil Taylor began his career at Manchester City and made over 150 appearances for the club. He transferred to Wrexham in 2007 and helped them to promotion from League Two that season.

In 2010, he moved to Swansea City where he spent two seasons before joining Derby County in 2013. Neil Taylor has played 11 times for Wales and was part of their squad which reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Ki Sung-yueng is a central midfielder who has played for FC Seoul and Swansea City in the English Premier League. Ki was born in South Korea, but moved to Scotland at a young age to play football with Celtic.

Andy Legg was born in 1966 in Neath, Wales. He started his career with the Welsh club Baglan Boys Club before moving to English clubs Swansea City and Notts County.

He joined Birmingham City in 1996 and spent two seasons there before moving to Read. He spent a season with Reading before joining Peterborough United on a loan.

Legg played for Ipswich Town from 1998 until he retired in 2001. He rejoined Reading in 2006 and has since served as an assistant manager. He has also worked as a scout for Reading.

Alan Curtis is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a forward. Curtis played for Swansea City, Leeds United and Southampton in a career that lasted from 1972 to 1986.

Curtis was born in Pentre, Rhondda, in 1954 and began his career with Swansea City. Curtis enjoyed a successful spell at Leeds United, scoring 21 goals in 90 appearances for the club.

Curtis later moved to Southampton, where he played for a further five years. Curtis retired from professional football in 1986. Curtis has since taken up the role of Honorary President at Swansea City.

He also won the Football League Cup twice with Swansea City. Charles retired from football in 2000, having scored over 150 goals in over 250 appearances. 

He later became a coach at Swansea City. Charles was named Welsh Footballer of the Year in 1987 and 1988. He was also named in the Welsh Team of the Century in 2000.

Charles is married and has three children. Jeremy Charles was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2013. Jeremy Charles passed away on 6 October 2016, at the age of 63.

Mel Nurse is a Welsh football centre-back who played for Swansea Town and England. Nurse was born on October 11, 1937 in Swansea, Wales. He began his career with Swansea Town in the 1952-1955 season.

Nurse played for England from 1955-1962. Nurse was part of the Liverpool team that won the European Cup in 1976. Nurse retired from professional football in 1982. Mel Nurse was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

In 2006, Nurse was awarded an honorary degree from Swansea University. Mel Nurse passed away on October 1, 2017 at the age of 85. Mel Nurse is one of Swansea City's most successful international players ever.

Williams joined Welsh side Swansea City in 1971, where he played for three seasons. Williams joined Football League side Birmingham City in 1976 and played for the club for three seasons. Williams retired from football in 1981 and later became a coach at Arsenal.

Williams was inducted into the Welsh Football Hall of Fame in 2002. Williams died on 6 October 2018, aged 82. Williams was born in Swansea, Wales in 1958. 

Williams started his career at Swansea City where he played for over a decade. Williams made his international debut for Wales in 1964 and went on to play in three games.

Williams retired from playing in 1975 but continued to work as a coach for Swansea City. Williams passed away in January of 2017 at the age of 71.

Mel Charles was a prolific goalscorer during his career, and is considered one of the greatest players from Wales. He died on 24 September 2016, aged 81. 

Mel Charles is considered one of the all-time great centre-halves and right-halves, and is fondly remembered by fans of the teams he played for.

Len Allchurch was a Welsh winger who played in the Football League for Swansea City. Allchurch made his debut for Swansea in 1955 and went on to make 308 appearances for the club, scoring 102 goals.
