Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest football players in history. He started his career at Sporting CP and went on to play for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Portugal to their first major international tournament victory since 1966 by winning the 2016 UEFA European Championship trophy with Real Madrid later that year. 

In 2018 Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus for a fee reported to be around €100 million (£89million), becoming the Italian champions' all-time leading goalscorer after netting 98 times in total throughout his career so far.

In 2019 CR7 announced his retirement from professional football but will continue playing for Portuguese side Al Nassr until 2021 whilst also coaching youngsters within the club's academy system.

Robert Lewandowski is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Barcelona. He began his career with Delta Warsaw, before joining Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2005.

In 2010, he signed for Bayern Munich and helped the team clinch the Bundesliga title that season. After one year at Madrid-based Real Madrid, Lewandowski rejoined Bayern Munich on a long-term deal in 2013.

He has won three consecutive La Liga titles with Barcelona (2014–16), as well as two Champions League crowns (2015 and 2017).

On 6 March 2019, he announced his retirement from professional football due to an injury sustained earlier that month against Atlético Madrid.

Neymar has received criticism for some of his off-field behaviour, including allegations of rape which he denies, but he remains an iconic figure in Brazil.

Neymar retired from international football after the World Cup final in 2018 with Brazil winning their fifth title; during that tournament, he became only the sixth player (and first South American) to score at five different World Cups.

Neymar is one of the most talented footballers in the world and has won numerous awards, including three FIFA Confederations Cup titles.

In 2016, Neymar was named as a member of Brazil's Olympic team for the games in Rio de Janeiro. Neymar began his career with Brazilian side Santos before moving to Europe to join Barcelona in 2013 and PSG two years later. 

Neymar has played for Brazil at various youth levels and made his senior international debut in 2009. He represented them at the 2014 World Cup and Copa América tournaments this year.

 Neymar is known for his speed on the pitch, strong shooting ability and dribbling skills; he is considered a complete player who can score goals both from close-range or long range shots.

Diego Armando Maradona is a retired Argentine professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and second striker. 

He was part of the Argentina national team that won the 1986 FIFA World Cup, where he became known for his outrageous goals and on-field antics.

After retiring from playing football, Maradona had several business ventures, including owning a chain of pizza restaurants in Argentina and Italy. 

In January 2019, it was announced that Maradona had been diagnosed with cancer and would be receiving treatment abroad.

Maradona died on 25 November 2020 at the age of 60 after succumbing to his disease. A controversial figure both on and off the pitch throughout his career, Diego Armando Maradona will always be remembered for being one of the greatest players in history.

 Diego Maradona is one of the most iconic footballers of all time and was a key figure in Argentina's World Cup-winning team in 1986.

Maradona also played for Napoli, Barcelona, Boca Juniors, and Atlético Madrid during his international career, winning numerous honors including five league titles with Boca Juniors.

 After retiring from playing professionally he embarked on a successful managerial career, taking charge of Deportivo Mandiyú, Racing Club, and Al-Wasl before joining Dorados de Sinaloa last year. 

In September 2019 he was appointed manager of Gimnasia de La Plata following the sacking of Eduardo Berizzo.

Erling Braut Haaland is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester City. Haaland was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England on 21 July 2000 and started playing football at the age of seven with Bryne Boys Club.

Cruyff is one of the most famous footballers in history and was a key player for Ajax, Barcelona and Los Angeles Aztecs during his career.

Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Italian club Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea. Lukaku started his career at Rupel Boom, before moving to KFC Wintam in 2004.

After retiring from playing, Maldini served as AC Milan's president for nine seasons before stepping down in 2015. Paolo Maldini is an honorary citizen of both Rome and Naples and has been awarded numerous other accolades, including a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006.

His work with UNICEF has seen him recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize twice - once jointly with Nelson Mandela - making him the first footballer to receive the honor. 

In December 2016 he announced his retirement from all activities following medical advice that he needed more rest after suffering a heart attack earlier that year.
