The San Diego Padres are an iconic professional baseball team with a rich history in the National League West. Founded in 1969, they have had 16 winning seasons and two NL pennants to their credit.

Manny Machado is a third baseman and shortstop who had an impressive MLB career. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2012 and has since played for them, as well as the San Diego Padres.

Machado is known for his powerful hitting ability, which has resulted in him having one of the highest batting averages in MLB history. His achievements have led to him being named MVP twice (in 2016 and 2017) and earning numerous other awards throughout his career.

Machado will be 31 years old at the end of this season, so he may not have many more seasons left where he can compete at such a high level in baseball. However, with continued good performance it’s likely that we will see MannyMachado continue to be one of the best players in the game for some time to come.

Manny Machado is a three-time All Star and Gold Glove Award winner. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2010 and has since played for them, as well as the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.

Machado has an impressive record of 1,597 hits, 283 home runs and 853 RBIs in his career so far. On 27th October 2018 he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for five players including top prospect Zion Williamson Jr.

With LA he won his second consecutive MVP award after leading the league with 34 home runs while driving in 115 RBIs; completing a brilliant 3 year run with Baltimore from 2012-2014 before being traded away.

3. Luis Garcia

Luis Garcia made his MLB debut for the Houston Astros on September 4th 2020. Luis is a Venezuelan pitcher who has a fastball that can reach speeds of up to 97 mph.

He was originally signed by the Chicago White Sox as an amateur free agent in 2017, but he was traded to the Astros in February 2019. Luis spent most of 2018 with Triple-A Fresno, where he posted a 2-0 record with a 1.27 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched overall.

In 2019, Luis had a breakout season with the Astros' major league team, posting an 8-7 record and 3.01 ERA across 31 appearances (30 starts). 

His best performance came during July when he went 5-1 with a 1:1 K/BB ratio over six starts - helping ensure Houston's playoff berth despite having one of baseball's lowest winning percentages (.516) at that point in the season.

Ken Caminiti was born on April 21, 1963 in Hanford, California. He made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros in 1987 and played for the Atlanta Braves until 2001.

In a 10-year career, Ken batted .272 with 134 home runs and 571 RBIs. Ken died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on October 10, 2004 at the age of 41 years old.

Ken Caminiti is one of the most accomplished hitters in Major League Baseball history, with a career batting average of .319 and 2,160 hits. He was a three-time All-Star and NL MVP, as well as being named to seven consecutive Gold Glove teams.

Ken also holds several Padres franchise records for batting average (first), runs scored (second), doubles (third), home runs (fourth) and walks (fifth). After playing his entire MLB career with the San Diego Padres, he retired after the 2001 season at the age of 36.

In 2003, Ken was inducted into the San Diego Padres Hall of Fame alongside such luminaries as Dick Williams and Tony Gwynn.

5. Fred McGriff

McGriff is a first baseman who played in the Major Leagues for 17 seasons, most notably with the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He was known as an excellent power hitter and led the league in home runs twice.

McGriff announced his retirement from baseball after playing his last game for the Devil Rays on July 15, 2004. Since then he has worked as a broadcaster for Fox Sports Florida.

Fred McGriff was born on October 31, 1963, in Tampa, Florida to parents of Jamaican descent.

As a child he loved playing ball and showed great potential at both football and baseball; however, it wasn't until he attended Hillsborough Community College that he started to make waves within collegiate athletics circles. 

After two years at HCC (where he helped lead them to back-to-back NJCAA World Series championships), McGriff transferred to Miami Dade College where he continued to amass impressive stats (.413 batting average with 49 homers over three seasons).

In 1986 McGriff made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays – hitting .284 with 2,490 hits and 49 home runs over 17 seasons before retiring following the 2004 season. At age 41 due to recurring neck issues stemming from several concussions sustained while playing professional ball.

While never achieving superstar status or being particularly well-liked by fans or teammates alike – largely because of his surly attitude towards reporters (or anyone else). 

Fred McGriff nevertheless remains one of best hitters in MLB history has posted an incredible .284 batting average along with 500+ RBIs & 50 HRs across all competitions.

Blake Snell was born on December 4th 1992, making him just 30 years old at present time – young enough to still have plenty of baseballs ahead of him.

Blake Snell is having an outstanding season for the Tampa Bay Rays, winning both the AL Cy Young Award and AL wins leader. He burst onto the scene in 2016 with a breakout performance that saw him win Rookie of the Year honors.

In 83 games (81 starts) between 2018-2022, Juan batted .239/.323/.424 with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs while also playing stellar defense at left field. 

With his strong performance over the past 3 seasons, it's no surprise that he has been named to several All-Star teams including 2nd Team honors in 2020 and 2021 as well as being voted onto the 2019 National League All-Star team by fans online.

As a junior at Vanderbilt University, Tatis was named SEC Player of Year after hitting .370 with 50 doubles, eight triples, and 14 home runs over 88 games in 2018–19 season..

After college he signed with the Mets but did not make their major league roster out of Spring Training 2020 due to visa issues.

He then spent time playing winter ball for teams across Latin America before signing with SD prior to Opening Day 2021.

10. Steve Garvey

After retiring from playing professionally, Garvey became a commentator on baseball for various networks and is currently the hitting coach for the New York Mets. Garvey played 13 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was a 10-time All Star.

Garvey was named NL MVP in 1974, won two NLCS MVP awards (1978, 1984), and earned four Gold Gloves while playing for the Padres. He is one of only eight players to have 3,000 hits and 500 home runs in their career. 

In 1981, he became the first player since Lou Gehrig to win both an MVP award and a World Series championship in the same season. Garvey's number 6 has been retired by San Diego Padres franchise as part of his legacy on and off the field.

11. Gary Sheffield

After retiring as a player, Sheffield served as hitting coach for the Mets from 2010 to 2012 before being fired following an altercation with team management that resulted in criminal charges.

Tony Gwynn was an all-time great right fielder in the MLB and is currently ranked 21st on the all-time list with 3,141 hits. Gwynn was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres in 1982.

Gwynn was one of the most consistent hitters in the MLB, batting over .300 for most of his career. Gwynn was a five-time All-Star and won three Gold Gloves as a right fielder. Gwynn announced his retirement from the MLB in 2001, but returned for one final season in 2002.

Gwynn died in 2014 at the age of 54 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Tony Gwynn was a five-time all-star and a three-time batting champion.

He was a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the San Diego Padres Hall of Fame. Gwynn was a fan favorite thanks to his graceful batting style and his charity work.

He passed away in 2014 at the age of 54 after a long battle with cancer.

Winfield retired after the 1995 season. Dave Winfield was one of the most accomplished and successful hitters in baseball history. He was a 12-time All-Star, a World Series champion, and a seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner.

Winfield is best known for his long career with the San Diego Padres, where he was a key player in their success in the 1970s and 1980s. He retired in 1998 after playing for the New York Yankees and California Angels. Winfield was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.

Hoffman is currently a baseball analyst for Fox Sports. Hoffman is a seven-time All-Star and two-time NL reliever of the year. He is one of only two pitchers in history to record 2,000 strikeouts and 500 saves. Hoffman holds the Padres record for most saves in a season (54).

Hoffman was the first player in Padres history to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Hoffman is a cancer survivor and has donated millions of dollars to charity.

18. Adrián González

He also won three Cy Young Awards and ten All-Star games. In 1990, Gossage signed with the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks in Japan and went on to have one of the most successful seasons of his career, winning 33 games and leading the league in strikeouts.

Gossage returned to the MLB in 1994 with the Seattle Mariners. He finished his career with the San Francisco Giants in 1997 and retired with a record of 107 wins and 107 losses.
