The Portland Sea Dogs are an exciting Minor League Baseball team based in Portland, Maine. Established in 1994, the Sea Dogs are the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and have become a major part of the culture of the city.

The Sea Dogs have experienced a great amount of success since joining the Red Sox system in 2003, winning the Eastern League championship in 2005 and 2006, and bringing joy to the Portland community. Mookie Betts is an outfielder for the Boston Red Sox and was one of the key players on their 2018 World Series championship team. Mookie Betts is a right-handed hitter who has averaged over .300 in his MLB career.

He's also hit 213 home runs, making him one of the league's top power hitters. Mookie Betts was born in Smyrna, Tennessee, in 1992 and played college baseball at Vanderbilt University before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2014.

After spending three seasons with Boston, Betts was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers this past offseason where he has started all but two games for them this season.

2. Blake Swihart

Blake Swihart was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 2010 MLB Draft. In 2016, he hit .253 with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs in 129 games for the Red Sox.

He became a free agent after spending 2017 with the Houston Astros and 2018 with the Detroit Tigers. In 2019, Swihart signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers but was released before appearing in a game.

Blake is married to actress Jenna Dewan Tatum and they have one child together named Everly Braxton-Swihart (born July 8, 2019). 

Swihart was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft. He is a left-handed batter and has played most of his career at either first base or left field.

Swihart hit .243 with 12 home runs and 67 RBIs in 496 games with the Red Sox over six seasons before being traded to Arizona in 2019. In 2018, he led all American League hitters with a .

361 batting average while helping lead the Red Sox to their fourth World Series title since 2004. Swihart also won an Gold Glove Award as a left fielder for his performance that season.

After spending two seasons playing for Arizona, he signed with Japanese team Chiba Lotte Marines during the 2020 winter league season where he will play until 2021 when he will return to play for Boston again next year.

Williams Jerez is a left-handed pitcher for the Staten Island FerryHawks. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 2nd round of the 2010 MLB Draft, but did not sign.

He signed with the Portland Sea Dogs in 2015 and had an excellent season, posting a 3.41 ERA in 66 relief appearances. Jerez was traded to the New York Mets along with Jeurys Familia and Dilson Herrera for Amed Rosario and Noah Syndergaard on July 31st, 2017.

In 68 games (25 starts) with New York, he has a 5-10 record and 4.11 ERA while striking out 95 batters in 132 innings pitched Williams Jerez made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Angels in 2018. He had a record of 1–0 and an ERA of 5.33 in his lone season with the team.

Williams Jerez also pitched for the San Francisco Giants in 2019, Pittsburgh Pirates in 2019, and has notched 24 strikeouts over 25 innings pitched during that span.

4. Andrew Benintendi

Andrew Benintendi was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. In his debut season with the Red Sox, he hit .288 with 18 home runs and 64 RBIs.

He continued to perform well in his second and third seasons with Boston, hitting a combined .296 with 30 home runs and 106 RBIs. Benintendi was traded to the Chicago White Sox during the 2018 offseason, where he has since enjoyed success both on and off of the field.

In 2019, he led all American League left fielders in WAR (Wins Above Replacement) at 3.1%. He is currently playing for the Chicago White Sox in 2020 and is expected to contend for an MVP award this season.

Andrew Benintendi is a 23-year old left fielder for the Boston Red Sox.

He was drafted by the Red Sox in the 1st round (22nd overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft and has spent his entire career with them, appearing in over 400 games. Benintendi has been an All-Star several times and won a World Series title with the team in 2018. 

He's also received plenty of accolades during his time, including three Golden Glove Awards (2015, 2017, 2021), two Silver Slugger Awards (2018, 2019), and one Dick Howser Trophy (2015).

In addition to playing baseball professionally, he played college ball at Arkansas before being drafted by Boston. Fans will be excited to see him when he returns from injury later this year as.

 he is still very dangerous at bats even when not 100%. His 73 home runs are second all time on the Red Sox behind only Jacoby Ellsbury's 105 homers and should give any pitcher nightmares if they have to face him.

5. Tzu-Wei Lin

Tzu-Wei Lin is an infielder for the Saint Paul Saints in 2021. Lin was born in Kaohsiung County, Taiwan, in 1994. He made his MLB debut with the Boston Red Sox on June 24, 2017.

In 49 games played as a rookie, he hit .217 with four home runs and 17 RBIs. On July 1, 2018, Lin was traded to the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations and assigned to their minor league camp.

The A's released him on August 12, 2018 without having offered him a contract extension beyond that day's deadline date of October 2nd; he then signed with the New Orleans Baby Cakes of the Caribbean League that day.

As of September 15th (games past due), 2019 has been his most productive season statistically thus far - batting .306/.362/.546 while slugging 28 homers and driving 92 runs batted in (RBIs).

Buttrey was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 3rd round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Buttrey made his MLB debut in 2018 with the Los Angeles Angels. Buttrey is a left-handed pitcher who throws in the mid-90s.

Buttrey has had success in the minors, posting a record of 116-59 with a 3.27 ERA in 269 games. Buttrey is set to join the Houston Astros in 2020. Buttrey is a hard-working pitcher who is looking to continue his success in the MLB.

Binelas was ranked as the number one third baseman in the Red Sox organization by Baseball America. Binelas made his major league debut with the Red Sox in 2019. Alex Binelas is a right-handed pitcher in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

Binelas was signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Oregon in 2014. He made his professional debut that season with the Helena Brewers of the Rookie-level Pioneer League. 

The following year, Binelas made his first appearance in the majors with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox of the Class AA Pacific Coast League.

In 2017, he was promoted to the Milwaukee Brewers and made his big league debut that season. In 73 appearances (64 in the majors), Binelas has compiled a record of 10-9 with a 3.37 ERA. He has also struck out 112 batters in 112 innings pitched. 

In 2018, he was named the Brewers' Pitcher of the Year. In 2019, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics.

David Hamilton was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the 2017 MLB Draft. Hamilton made his professional debut with the Lowell Spinners in the Red Sox organization.

In 2018, Hamilton was promoted to the Pawtucket Red Sox. Hamilton was named to the 2018 All-Star Game. Hamilton is a two-time All-Star and 2017 Rookie of the Year Award winner. Hamilton is a Gold Glove Award nominee.

Henry Owens was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 2nd round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Owens made his MLB debut with the Indians in 2014 and was a member of the Indians team that won the World Series that year.

Owens was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in December of 2016 and made his Dodger debut in April of 2017. Owens was traded to the Seattle Mariners in July of 2018 and made his Mariners debut in August of 2018. Owens is currently a free agent and is looking for a new MLB team.

Owens has a career record of 27-27 with a 3.68 ERA in 97 MLB appearances. Owens has been known for his strong fastball and excellent control. Owens is a left-handed pitcher and throws with a wind-up. 

Owens is a three-time All-Star and has been nominated for the Cy Young Award. A former first-round pick by the Dodgers, Henry Owens made his MLB debut with the Red Sox in 2015.

A left-handed starter, Owens made his MLB debut against the Blue Jays and went on to win his first game, albeit by only two runs. Owens was able to maintain a win-loss record of 4-6 in his first two seasons, but struggled with his ERA, which hovered around 5.50. 

Owens was traded to the Reds in 2018, where he was able to post a 3.01 ERA in 28 starts. Owens is currently a free agent and is expected to test the free agent market this offseason.Owens is a potential candidate for the Red Sox starting rotation in 2019.

11. Daniel McGrath

McGrath was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox. He made his professional debut in 2017 with the Greenville Drive. McGrath was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in February of 2018.

He made his Reds debut that same month, pitching 3 innings and allowing 3 runs. McGrath was placed on the 10-day disabled list in May with a sprained ankle. McGrath returned from the disabled list in June and pitched in 4 games for the Reds.

He was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in July. McGrath made his Brewers debut that same day, pitching 1 inning and allowing 2 runs. 

McGrath was placed on the 60-day disabled list in August with a right lat strain. Daniel McGrath is a talented Australian baseball player who has had a long and successful career.

McGrath has been a key part of the Melbourne Aces throughout his career, and has helped the team to two ABL championships. 

He is also a regular member of the Australian national team, and has represented his country at numerous international tournaments. McGrath is a hard-working and dedicated player, and is always looking to improve his skills.

Teddy Stankiewicz is a pitcher with the Toros de Tijuana of the CPBL. He was born on November 25, 1993 in Keller, Texas. He made his CPBL debut on August 28, 2020 with the Uni-President Lions.

In 16 appearances with the Lions, he has an ERA of 2.15. Stankiewicz is known for his velocity, which has led to him striking out over 20 batters per 9 innings. His strikeout ability has helped him earn a spot on the Taiwan national team.

He is a right-handed pitcher. Teddy Stankiewicz is expected to remain with the Toros de Tijuana for the remainder of the 2020 season. Teddy Stankiewicz is a young, talented pitcher who is looking to make a name for himself in the major leagues.

He has a strong record in the Taiwan Series, and is looking to build on that success in the 2020 season. He has plenty of skill and potential, and is looking to make an impact in the major leagues in the near future.
