The Orlando Apollos were an American professional football team based in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2019 as a member of the Alliance of American Football, the Apollos’ inaugural season was a remarkable one, as they finished the regular season with an impressive 7-1 record and clinched the AAF’s Eastern Division title.

The team was led by head coach Steve Spurrier, the former head coach of the Florida Gators, who provided a winning atmosphere and brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. The Apollos provided fans with exciting football, thrilling victories, and a unique atmosphere that made it a great experience for all.

De'Veon Smith was signed by the Washington Redskins in 2018. He had an impressive rookie season with 1,272 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. 

In 2019, De'Veon Smith was traded to the Orlando Apollos of the NFL's Alliance of American Football (AAF).

He played well for them and led the league in rushing yards with 2,240 on 281 carries (5.1 avg.) while also catching 36 passes for 439 yards and three touchdowns. 

The Tampa Bay Vipers drafted De'Veon Smith in 2020 as their starting running back ahead of incumbent starter Darrin Reaves Jr.

De'Veon Smith was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. De'Veon Smith played his college football at Michigan where he was a two-time All-American and won the Heisman Trophy in 2016. 

 De'Veon Smith had an illustrious rookie season with the Lions, rushing for over 1,000 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns.

Smith also caught 25 passes for 330 yards and another touchdown during his time with Detroit. In 2019, De'Veon Smith joined the Pittsburgh Maulers as part of their inaugural season in XFL 2K League play. 

He rushed for over 900 yards on just 83 carries during that campaign while catching 17 passes for 205 yards and four more touchdowns as well. 

Smith finished second in MVP voting behind only New York Jet sensation Saquon Barkley - impressive stuff from one of today's top running backs.

Marquis Lucas was a highly recruited offensive tackle out of high school and chose West Virginia over several other schools. 

After redshirting his first year at WVU, Marquis started all 13 games for the Mountaineers in 2013 and played well enough to be named second-team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press.

The Bills signed Lucas as an undrafted free agent in 2016 after he spent time on their practice squad that season. In 2017, Marquis made the 53-man roster but was inactive for most of the season due to injury before being released at the end of training camp this year. 

Marquis is currently trying to find another NFL opportunity and has been working out with multiple teams throughout 2018 so far.

His size (6'4", 318 lbs) would likely make him an ideal candidate for a guard or center position, but it will be interesting to see if he can land a spot on an NFL roster again given his injury history.

Marquis Lucas burst onto the scene as one of college football's top tackles while playing at West Virginia during his two years there under head coach Dana Holgorsen between 2012-2013.

Starting all 13 games both seasons while earning 2nd Team All-Big 12 accolades from AP writers in 2013 along with honorable mention recognition from Sporting News magazine that same year (despite not winning any national championships).

He then went undrafted in 2016 despite impressing scouts with good technique, strength, agility & footwork combined with some dominating performances against lesser competition; notably holding. 

Texas Tech wide receiver Keith Ford without significant damage en route to picking up First Team All-Big 12 honors from league media outlets like Horns Digest. 

Signed by Buffalo Bills as a UDFA just prior to final cuts leading into preseason play that year where he appeared briefly on game-day rosters vs Pittsburgh Steelers before spending the remainder offseason recovering from surgery performed shortly after signing the contract - rehabbing until. 

Week 1 practices began this fall when new Bills Offensive Line Coach Rick Dennison called him into the office & offered a full-time job even though they already had 4 OT starters set.

Who were returning including starter Dion Dawkins who had emerged as one of best players at LT position last few years he accepted.

Will Hill played safety for the Baltimore Ravens in 2015. In college, Will Hill was a standout player at Florida and received All-American honors. However, after two seasons with the New York Giants, he was not drafted and signed with the Ravens instead.

After spending two years with Baltimore, Hill joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2017. Will Hill has consistently been one of the top safeties in the league over his career and is a valuable member of any team's roster Will Hill was drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.

In 2013, Hill signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and played there until he was released in 2015. Hill then signed with the New England Patriots and spent four seasons with them before being released in 2018. 

After stints with two other teams, Will Hill has now joined Orlando Apollos for their inaugural season in 2019 as a linebacker/defensive end hybrid player on defense and special teamer on offense.

Andrew Tiller was born in 1989 and attended Central Islip High School in Queens, New York. He played college football at Syracuse before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012.

After spending two seasons with the 49ers, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014 and has since remained there. Tiller was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He played for San Francisco 49ers from 2014−2016 before being traded to Kansas City Chiefs during the 2017 season. 

Tiller signed with New Orleans Saints as a free agent in 2018 and started all 16 games at left tackle for them that year, helping lead them to their first Super Bowl victory since 2009.

In 2019, he re-signed with New Orleans and started all 16 games at left tackle once again, this time leading them to another Championship appearance against Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.

Terence Garvin was a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2013 to 2015. He signed with the Washington Redskins in 2016 and played there for two seasons before being released in 2018.

In his two seasons with the Redskins, Garvin recorded 105 tackles, six sacks, and one interception. After being released by Washington, Terence Garvin joined the Detroit Lions on a one-year deal in January 2019.

Garvin was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Garvin played college football at Florida State and started all 44 games.

he appeared in for the Seminoles over three seasons. In his rookie season with Seattle, Garvin recorded 5 tackles and 1 sack while also forcing a fumble that was recovered by Shaquill Griffin.

Donteea Dye played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 and 2016, but was not drafted. He has since had a successful career as a wide receiver with the St.

Louis BattleHawks of the Arena Football League (AFL). Donteea Dye is from Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Fairfield High School where he played football and ran track.

After spending time at several small schools, including Heidelberg University, Donteea Dye signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015. In his two years with the team, Donteea Dey caught 55 passes for 636 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing three times for 33 yards on offense.

On September 5th of this year, Donteea dye re-signed with the St Louis BattleHawks after playing out his contract with Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this year.(2018) Donteeaa's AFL career has been very successful.

Spurrier played quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers from 1967-1975. He is most famous for leading the Florida Gators to a national championship in 1996.

He also coached the South Carolina Gamecocks from 1981-2015. In 2016, Spurrier retired from coaching, but will remain with the team as a senior adviser. Spurrier was born on April 20, 1945, in Miami Beach, Florida.

He attended Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee. Spurrier played college football at Florida. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1967 NFL Draft. Spurrier won three Super Bowls with the 49ers, as well as two with the Gators.

Spurrier is one of the most successful head coaches in college football history. He has led his teams to championships in three different conferences (SEC, ACC, and SEC East) and has amassed a record of 268-119-2. Spurrier is known for his high-octane offenses and innovative play-calling.

Spurrier retired from coaching following the 2015 season, but he is still active in the sport as an analyst for ESPN. Spurrier was born in 1960 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Earl Okine is a defensive end who played for the Houston Texans in 2013 and for the Calgary Stampeders in 2013 and 2014. He signed with the Orlando Predators in 2014 and played for them until 2016.

Hall was a two-year starter at cornerback for UCF and was an All-American selection in his senior season. Hall was undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft but signed with the Oakland Raiders as a free agent.

Anderson was a four-star recruit out of high school, and was considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. He played college football at Marshall University and Fordham, before being undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Anderson has spent the last two seasons with the Arlington Renegades of the AFL. Anderson has thrown for over 9,000 yards and 71 touchdowns in his career. He was briefly a member of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, but was cut before the season started.

Anderson is currently signed with the Renegades for the 2019 season. Anderson is a three-time AFL All-Star, and was the league MVP in 2018. Anderson has also been awarded the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Johnson was drafted in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Johnson spent three seasons with the Packers, amassing 62 receptions for 935 yards and four touchdowns.

In 2015, Johnson signed with the Browns and played in 13 games, recording one reception for 12 yards. Johnson is currently a free agent and is looking to sign with another team in 2016. Charles Johnson was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Final Words

The Orlando Apollos were an American professional football team based in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1968, the team played its entire existence in the World Football League (WFL), which merged with the American Football League (AFL) in 1970.

The Apollos finished the 1971 WFL season with a 7-5 record, but were unable to secure an AFL berth for the 1972 season.
