Northampton Saints are a professional rugby union club that have been representing the town of Northampton since 1880. Known as ‘The Saints’, the team has established itself as one of the most successful in English rugby, having won the Premiership Rugby title three times and the Challenge Cup five times.

Pat Lam is a rugby union player who has played at the professional level for Bristol Bears. He made his debut for Marist Brothers Old Boys in 1990 and went on to play for them until 1998, scoring 187 points in 56 appearances.

After leaving Marist Brothers Old Boys, Lam joined the English side Saracens in 1998 where he spent two seasons before moving to Bristol Bears in 2001. With Bristol Bears, Lam has won five Premiership titles (2002-04, 2006–08) as well as two Anglo Welsh Cups (2003 & 2007).

In 2009, Lam was named Director of Rugby at Gloucester Rugby and led them to their first-ever European title that season after beating Toulon 34-27 in the final held at Twickenham Stadium in London England. 

At the end of the 2013/14 season, he left Gloucester Rugby and returned to Bristol Bears where he retired from playing during the 2015/16 campaign with 167 career appearances under his belt.

Dickie Jeeps was born in 1931 and played rugby union for Bedford Modern School. He made his professional debut with Cambridge RFC in 1951. Dickie Jeeps went on to play for London Irish, Bath Rugby, and Leicester Tigers before retiring from playing rugby in 1972.

Dickie Jeeps later became a coach with the England national team, serving as head coach between 1987-1991 and 1998-2000 respectively. 

Dickie Jeeps passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness on 8 October 2016 Dickie Jeeps is a retired professional rugby player who played for Northampton Saints in the English Premiership.

He represented his country on multiple occasions, most notably with the British and Irish Lions during their 1955–1962 tour of South Africa. Jeeps were born in 1928 and started playing rugby at an early age. 

After representing his school team, he joined Northampton Saints as a junior in 1947 and quickly became one of the club's main players.

In total, he made 505 appearances for the Saints over 14 seasons, scoring 139 tries along the way. 

His international career began when England selected him for their 1956 tour to South Africa; he went on to make 13 appearances for his country overall (including three Tests) before retiring from play in 1962 aged 36 years old. 

During this time, Jeeps also won two caps with the British and Irish Lions – including an appearance in the 1957 Test series victory over New Zealand that helped seal England's first-ever overseas win at home (a feat they would repeat 11 years later).

Following his retirement from playing professionally, Dickie Jeep spent several years working as a regional sales manager for Pepsi Cola before eventually returning to full-time rugby coaching duties with Northampton Rugby Club where he still works today aged 84 years old.

Sam Matavesi was born in Truro, England on 13 January 1992. He played rugby union for Camborne Science and International Academy before signing with Northampton Saints in 2016.

Sam has represented England at the Under-18 level and made his international debut against Samoa in 2012. In 2017, he helped Northampton reach the Premiership final where they were narrowly defeated by Saracens.

Sam is currently a hooker for Northampton Saints and has made over 100 appearances for the club since joining them in 2016 Sam Matavesi started playing rugby at an early age and quickly became a standout player.

He represented Fiji at the U20 World Cup in 2013, where they finished runners-up. After impressing for Plymouth Albion in the RFU Championship, he was signed by Northampton Saints in 2017. 

In his first season with the club, he helped them reach the Premiership playoffs where they lost to Saracens on penalties after a closely fought match.

He has since continued this form for Toulouse in France and is currently their top scorer with 53 points from 40 matches played this season (as of 18 July 2021).

Courtney Lawes is a British rugby union player, who has played for Northampton and England. She made her debut for Northampton in 2009 and has since played a total of 113 matches for the club.

Lawes has also played for England at Under-19, Under-20, and Women's international levels. In May 2017, she was selected for the England Women's Six Nations squad. She made her Six Nations debut in their opening game of the season against Wales.

Lawes has also been capped at Under-20 and Women's levels. In January 2018, she announced her retirement from rugby union. Courtney Lawes was born in Hackney, London, England on 23 February 1989. She attended Kingsthorpe College, Northampton School for Boys, and Moulton College.

5. Luther Burrell

Luther Burrell

Luther Burrell is a rugby union player who has played for Leeds Carnegie since 2006. Burrell is a powerful centre who is known for his speed and skill on the field.

He has represented England at the youth level but has yet to make an appearance for the senior team. Burrell is a hardworking player who is always looking to take the ball to the opposition.

6. Tim Rodber

Tim Rodber was born in 1969 in Yorkshire, England. He attended Churcher's College and then Oxford Brookes University. He played rugby union for Oxford Old Boys and Petersfield RFC.

He was a flanker and number eight for Oxford Old Boys and Petersfield RFC. He has won 32 caps for England and was part of the 2003 World Cup-winning team. He retired from rugby in 2006.

He now works as a rugby coach and is a mentor to young athletes. He has two children. Tim Rodber is a successful rugby player and a popular sportsman. Tim Rodber is a retired professional rugby player who played for Northampton Saints in England between 1988 and 2001.

Rodber made his international debut for England in 1992 and played for the team until 1999. He also represented England B and was a member of the British and Irish Lions squad that toured South Africa in 1997. 

 After retiring from the professional game, Rodber became a rugby coach and worked with the England national youth teams.

He also served as an assistant coach for the national sevens team. Rodber is a three-time winner of the RFU Coach of the Year award and is currently the head coach of the London Irish side. 

 Rodber was inducted into the Northampton Saints Hall of Fame in 2009. Rodber is married and has two children. Rodber is a graduate of Northampton University and has a degree in business.

Rodber is a member of the English Rowing Federation and is a coach for the Leander Club rowing team. In his spare time, Rodber enjoys playing golf and watching cricket.

Lewis Ludlam is a talented flanker who has been playing rugby union since he was a teenager. He started his career at Ipswich RFC, before moving to Colchester RFC and then Eastern Counties.

In 2014, he joined Northampton Saints and has since made over 100 appearances for the club. Lewis is a regular in the England Under-20 squad and was called up to the England Saxons squad earlier this year.

He is known for his strong defense and hard running and is a key player for Northampton Saints. Lewis is due to marry his long-term girlfriend in the summer and is already a father to a daughter. Grayson is a former rugby union player who won 47 caps for England. He was part of the England team that won the 2003 World Cup. Grayson retired from playing in 2007.

He is the head coach of the Sale Sharks rugby union team. Grayson was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2009. Grayson is married with two children.

Grayson was born in Chorley, Lancashire, England. He is 51 years old. Grayson coached Sale Sharks in the English Premiership from 2009 to 2013. Grayson was born and raised in Northampton and played for the Saints from 1993-2005.

Grayson was a key member of the England team that won the 1995 World Cup. He retired from professional rugby in 2005 but continued to play for Northampton's second team. Grayson is a coaching assistant with Northampton and also coaches the England under-16s side.

Grayson is married with two children. Grayson is a PE teacher and has also coached rugby in schools. Grayson has been involved in a number of charity work, most notably with Sport Relief. Grayson is a highly respected figure in the rugby community and is widely admired for his coaching abilities.

Grayson is currently the head coach of the England Saxons side.

Edgar Mobbs was a British soldier who was killed in action during the First World War. Edgar Mobbs was educated at Bedford Modern School, and later studied at Cambridge University.

In 1907, Edgar Mobbs was commissioned in the British Army, and served in India and South Africa. In 1914, Edgar Mobbs was transferred to the British Army in the Middle East, and served in the Sinai and Palestine Campaigns.

In 1916, Edgar Mobbs was transferred to the British Army in the First World War, and was assigned to the British Army in the Passchendaele salient. On 31 July 1917, Edgar Mobbs was killed in action during the Battle of Pilckem Ridge, and was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.

Edgar Mobbs is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France, and the Victoria Cross Trust has created a memorial in his memory at Bedford Modern School. Edgar Mobbs was a brave and courageous soldier, and his death during the First World War was a tragedy.

George North is a Welsh international rugby union player who currently plays for the Northampton Saints in the English Premiership. North was born in Norfolk, England and played rugby union for Llangefni, Pwllheli, Rhyl and Swansea RFC as a youth.

He made his senior debut for Wales in 2013 and has since played at every level of the game for his country, including appearances in the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups. North is a wing or centre and is renowned for his speed, acceleration and power.

North is married to Georgina and the couple have two young children. North is a regular contributor to the Northampton Saints' online magazine, Saints Player. North is an ambassador for the Welsh Rugby Union and has undertaken work with the charity Aidan Jones' Fight for Life.

Nick Beal was born on 2 December 1970 in Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. He attended Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, where he played rugby union for the school team.

Beal made his debut for the England national rugby union team in 1995 and played for them until 2001. He then moved to Australia to play for the Sydney Blues in the Super 14 competition.

In 2006, he returned to England to play for the London Welsh. He retired from professional rugby in 2011 and now works as a rugby coach. Nick Beal is married and has two children. He is a fullback and is known for his fast running and kicking.

Nick Beal is a rugby coach and has worked with the England national team, London Welsh, and Sydney Blues. Nick Beal played 268 games for Northampton Saints, scoring 482 points. Nick Beal represented England at the 1996-1999 World Cups, where he helped the team to a silver medal in the 1997 edition.

David Ribbans is a lock for the Western Province in the South African Rugby Union. Ribbans made his provincial debut in the 2016 Currie Cup season, starting in the match against the Natal Sharks.

Paul Hill was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany in 1995. He began playing rugby union at Prince Henry's Grammar School in Otley and progressed through the ranks to become a tighthead prop.

Hill made his professional rugby union debut for Otley in the 2014 season and has since played for Darlington Mowden Park. Hill is a hard-working prop who is known for his excellent scrummaging technique.

Jeff Butterfield was born on 9 August 1929 in Heckmondwike, England. He attended Loughborough University, where he played rugby union for Loughborough Colleges and Cleckheaton RUFC.

He made his senior debut for England in 1951 and represented the side on fifteen occasions. Butterfield retired from rugby in 1962, but continued to play club rugby until his death in 2004.

He was inducted into the English Rugby Hall of Fame in 1996. Jeff Butterfield passed away on 30 April 2004 at the age of 74 years 265 days. Jeff Butterfield is a former professional rugby player who played for Northampton and Yorkshire.

Garry Pagel was born on September 17, 1966 in King William's Town, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Pagel played rugby union for Adelaide Gymnasium and was a loosehead prop and tighthead prop.

Pagel's rugby union career spanned from 1988 to 2003 and he made over 350 appearances. Pagel is currently the head coach of the South Africa national rugby union team. Pagel has been awarded with a number of awards, including South African Rugby Union Coach of the Year in 2003.

Don White was born in England in 1926 and played rugby union for Wellingborough Grammar School. White played prop and flanker for amateur teams in the 1950s and 1960s.

White was a successful businessman before his rugby career and was appointed President of the RFU in 1987. White died in 2007 after a long illness. White was a respected member of the rugby community and is fondly remembered for his skill on the pitch.

White's death marks the end of an era in rugby and the rugby community will miss his contributions. White's rugby career was highlights of a long and successful career in business. White was a gentleman on and off the pitch and will be remembered as a great rugby player and a great man.

White played for Northampton for over 20 years, winning numerous trophies during his time at the club. He went on to coach England, helping the team to a number of successes, including the 1966 World Cup. 

He is widely recognised as one of the greatest football coaches of all time. White passed away in 2001, but his legacy lives on through the many talented players he has helped to develop.

Thompson was born in Hemel Hempstead, England in 1978. He began playing rugby at Northampton School for Boys and played for the Old Scouts RFC before joining Leicester Tigers.

He made his Leicester Tigers debut in 1998 and played for the team until 2007. He then joined Saracens and played for them until 2010. He then rejoined Leicester Tigers and has since played for the team.

Thompson has won several caps for England and has been a part of the side that has won the Rugby World Cup in 2003 and 2015. He is currently retired from playing rugby but continues to work as a rugby coach.

Thompson is an MBE and was awarded the honour in 2015. Thompson has played for Northampton Saints since joining the club in 2002. He has made 195 appearances for the Saints, scoring 80 tries. He has also represented England at international level, playing 73 times and scoring three try-scoring appearances.

In 2005, he was part of the England side that won the Rugby World Cup. He retired from rugby in 2011 and now works as a rugby coach. Thompson is married with two children. 

In 2014, Thompson was inducted into the Northampton Saints Hall of Fame. He is currently a coach with CA Brive. Thompson is a rugby enthusiast and is heavily involved in the sport in his spare time.

George Furbank was born on October 17th, 1996 in Huntingdon, England. He attended Kimbolton School, Bedford School, and Rugby Union career. George currently plays for Northampton Saints in the English Premiership.

Peter Larter is an actor who has appeared in a variety of different films and television shows. Larter was born in Birmingham, England in 1973. Larter began his acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in a number of small roles in television shows and films.

Larter has since appeared in a number of other films and television shows, including "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2", and "Game of Thrones".

Tommy Freeman was born in Oxford, England in 2001 and started playing rugby union at Culford School. He then went on to Moulton College where he played for the college team.

Freeman then signed with Rugby Prods who were playing in the RFU Championship. He made his debut for the club in a match against Bristol on 21 October 2016. Freeman has since made 14 appearances for the club and has also represented England at U18 level and U20 level.

Ron Jacobs was born on October 28th, 1928 in Whittlesey, England. After completing his schooling at Oakham School, Jacobs attended the University of Nottingham where he studied Agriculture.

In 1957, Jacobs began his career as a farmer. He worked in this profession until his death in 2002. Jacobs was a passionate farmer and was known for his dedication to his work. Ron Jacobs was a generous man and was known for his support of various charitable causes.

Jacobs was a popular figure in the town of Whittlesey and was greatly loved by his family and friends. Ron Jacobs is survived by his wife, three children and six grandchildren. The funeral for Ron Jacobs took place on November 10th, 2002 and he was buried in the local cemetery.

Ron Jacobs started playing rugby union at the ripe age of nine, joining his local club, Peterborough RFC. He quickly became a key member of the side, and made his first-team debut in 1949 at the age of just fifteen. 

 Over the course of his rugby career, Ron Jacobs played for Northampton RFC, and was a part of the team that won the RFU Championship in 1967.

He also played for England on a number of occasions, and helped the side to win the World Cup in 1971. After retiring from playing rugby, Ron Jacobs took up the role of head coach at Peterborough RFC.

He enjoyed a successful tenure at the club, and led them to several promotions. He also served as the club's president for a number of years. Ron Jacobs is now retired from coaching, but continues to support Peterborough RFC and other rugby clubs.

He is also a regular speaker at rugby events around the country.

Blair Swannell was born on August 20th, 1875 in Weston Underwood, Buckinghamshire, England. He attended Repton School and played rugby union for Olney RFC.

He was killed in action on April 25th, 1915, at the age of 39, during the First World War. Blair Swannell is buried in the Anzac Cove Cemetery in Gallipoli, Ottoman Turkey.

The rugby union community has renamed the position of number 8 in his honor, and the trophy awarded to the winners of the Six Nations Championship is now called the 'Blair Swannell Cup'.

Brandon Nansen is a 29-year-old lock/loose forward who has played for North Harbour in the Mitre 10 Cup. Nansen was born in 1993 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Angus Scott-Young is an Australian rugby union player who plays for the University of Queensland in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition. Scott-Young made his first-class debut for the University of Queensland in 2015 and has played in a total of 10 first-class matches.

Painter was born in London, England in 1998 and started playing rugby at Felsted School. He made his debut for England under-20s in March 2016. He made his Premiership debut for Harlequins in October 2016.

Budge Pountney was born on November 13th, 1973 in Southampton, England. He started playing rugby union at Kings' School, Winchester and played for Northampton Saints from 1992-94.

Pountney has played for the England national rugby union team, and has 47 caps to his name. He is a flanker, and is known for his clean play and strong defence. Pountney has two children and is currently playing for the Sale Sharks in the English Premiership.

Tom Wood was born on 3 November 1986 in Coventry, England. Tom Wood played rugby union at The Woodlands, Coventry. Tom Wood was a flanker for North Otago and represented England at youth level.

Ahsee Tuala is a 33-year-old fullback and wing from Samoa. He has represented his country at under-20 and under-23 level, and played for James Cook High School in New Zealand.

Dylan Hartley is a New Zealand rugby union player who has represented his country at international level. He started his career with the Rotorua Boys' High School rugby team, before going on to play for the Beacon Community College team.

Hartley made his full international debut for New Zealand in 2003, and has since played a total of 46 matches. He is most commonly known for his role as a hooker, but he has also played at fly-half and fullback for his country.
