PSG’s Summer Sensation: Dembélé Joins Star-Studded Squad in €50m Deal

Paris Saint-Germain is set to complete the signing of Ousmane Dembélé from Barcelona after activating a ‘private’ clause in his contract. The French winger will undergo medical tests and sign a six-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants by Saturday.

Dembélé, who joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, has agreed to move to PSG after a difficult spell at Camp Nou. He has struggled with injuries and inconsistency, scoring 31 goals in 118 appearances for the Catalan club.

According to sources close to the deal, PSG will pay €50m to Barcelona, which includes a part that goes to the player and his agent Moussa Sissoko. The ‘private’ clause was inserted in Dembélé’s contract when he renewed with Barcelona until 2025 last year.

PSG has been looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who is expected to join Real Madrid next summer. Dembélé is seen as a versatile and explosive attacker who can play on both wings and as a second striker.

The 24-year-old will reunite with his former Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, who is now in charge of PSG. He will also join his compatriots Neymar, Marco Verratti, Presnel Kimpembe, and Ander Herrera at the Parc des Princes.

Dembélé is the latest addition to PSG’s star-studded squad, which has already welcomed Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi this summer. The Parisian club is aiming to win its first Champions League title after reaching the final in 2020 and the semi-finals in 2021.
