Former NFL quarterback Colt McCoy has joined NBC Sports as an analyst for the upcoming USFL season. McCoy, who played for four teams in his 12-year career, will provide commentary and insights for the network’s coverage of the revived spring football league.

McCoy, 35, announced his retirement from the NFL in February after spending the 2020 season with the New York Giants. He started two games for the Giants, leading them to a 17-12 upset win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13. He finished his career with a 9-23 record as a starter, throwing for 6,455 yards, 30 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

McCoy was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Texas, where he was a Heisman Trophy finalist and led the Longhorns to the BCS National Championship Game in 2009.

He played for the Browns from 2010 to 2012, then spent three seasons with the Washington Football Team and four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before joining the Giants.

McCoy said he is excited to join NBC Sports and share his passion for football with the viewers. He said he is looking forward to working with the network’s talented team of broadcasters and analysts, including Mike Tirico, Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison.

McCoy will make his debut as a USFL analyst on April 16, when NBC Sports will air the first game of the season between the Houston Gamblers and the New Jersey Generals. The game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET from Rice Stadium in Houston.
