Bryson DeChambeau has issued a statement on his Instagram account to address the claims made by LIV Golf, a golf equipment company, that he and other players “talked about” their products.
LIV Golf posted a video on their social media platforms on Monday, featuring a voice-over that said: “We’ve been working on something special for a while now.
Something that has caught the attention of some of the best players in the world. Players like Bryson DeChambeau, who have talked about our products and how they can help them improve their game.”.
The video also showed clips of DeChambeau and other PGA Tour players, such as Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, and Collin Morikawa, hitting shots with LIV Golf logos superimposed on their clubs.
DeChambeau, who is sponsored by Cobra Golf, said that he was not aware of LIV Golf or their products, and that he never endorsed or talked about them.
“I want to clear up some inaccurate information that has been circulating online recently,” DeChambeau wrote. “I have never heard of LIV Golf, nor have I ever used or talked about their products.
The video they posted is misleading and unauthorized. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever.”.
DeChambeau added that he was “very happy” with his Cobra equipment, and that he was “looking forward” to competing in the upcoming events.
“I am very happy with my Cobra equipment and the support they have given me throughout my career,” he continued. “I am looking forward to playing in the Zurich Classic this week with my partner Aaron Wise, and then defending my title at the Wells Fargo Championship next week.”.
LIV Golf has since deleted the video from their social media accounts, and has not issued any comment on the matter.
Final Thoughts: Bryson DeChambeau Denies Endorsing LIV Golf Products
Bryson DeChambeau’s response to the LIV Golf video is not surprising. As a professional golfer with a lucrative sponsorship deal with Cobra Golf, it’s unlikely that he would publicly endorse another golf equipment company.
It’s also worth noting that LIV Golf is a relatively new player in the golf industry, and it’s unclear how much traction they’ve gained with top-level players.
The fact that LIV Golf used clips of DeChambeau and other PGA Tour players hitting shots with their logos superimposed on their clubs without their permission is a concerning issue.
It’s misleading for the viewers who may think that these players are endorsing LIV Golf products. This could potentially harm the players’ reputations if they are associated with a product they don’t use or endorse.
Overall, it’s essential for companies to be transparent about their marketing strategies and not use deceptive tactics to gain publicity. DeChambeau’s swift response to the situation shows that he is committed to protecting his brand and reputation.
It will be interesting to see if LIV Golf issues any further statements or apologies regarding the misleading video.
