The University of Michigan Wolverines men’s ice hockey team is a college hockey powerhouse that has been a mainstay of collegiate hockey since earning varsity status in 1922.
For more than half a century, the Wolverines have competed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and Central Collegiate Hockey Association, making them a formidable force in the NCAA.

Max Pacioretty is a professional ice hockey player who was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007. He has also played for the Ottawa Senators and Vegas Golden Knights.
In 2013, he won the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's leading scorer with 87 points (35 goals and 52 assists). Pacioretty has represented Canada at multiple international tournaments, including three World Championships and two Winter Olympics.
He announced his retirement from professional hockey on February 25th, 2019 after 17 seasons in the NHL Max Pacioretty is a left-handed forward who has played for the Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, HC Ambrì-Piotta and Vegas Golden Knights in his NHL career.
Pacioretty was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens as the 22nd overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft. He made his professional debut with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the Swiss National League A in 2008–09 before joining the Carolina Hurricanes later that season.
In 2011–12, he led all rookie forwards with 44 points (21 goals and 23 assists) as well as being named to Team USA for their World Championship tournament that year.
The following season, 2012–13, he recorded 41 goals and 63 assists for 106 points over 82 games - good for fourth place among rookies behind John Tavares (NYI), Alex Ovechkin (WAS), and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM).
On July 1st, 2013, Pacioretty signed a six-year contract extension with Montreal worth an average annual value of $7 million dollars through to 2020–21 which makes him one of hockey's highest-paid players at present day.
In 2017–18 he finished second on the team scoring behind only Max Domi while playing 80 games registering 43 goals and 54 assists for 89 points helping lead Montreal to their 104th Stanley Cup championship.

Dylan Larkin is a 26-year-old American professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He was drafted 8th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and made his debut with them during the 2015–16 season.

Andrew Cogliano is a left-wing player who has played for the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Chad LaRose is a professional wrestler, best known for his time in WWE. He debuted in 2006 and has since worked for a number of other companies, most notably Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
LaRose was released from WWE in 2016 after being charged with sexual assault. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Following his imprisonment, Larose began working as an independent wrestler once again under the name Chad Larusso Chad LaRose is a former right winger for the Carolina Hurricanes who played his entire NHL career with the team.

Brendan Morrison was born in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia on August 15th 1975. He played his junior hockey with the Kamloops Blazers before being drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1997.
He joined the Chicago Blackhawks after they acquired him as a free agent in 2001 and went on to play 8 seasons with them, registering 309 points (122 goals, 197 assists).
In 2012 he signed a one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks and retired at the end of that season having played 973 career NHL games scoring 426 goals and 463 assists for 1,067 points overall.

Wisniewski has been a steady defenseman for the Columbus Blue Jackets over the past few seasons. Wisniewski was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2003 and played parts of four seasons with them before he was traded to Columbus in January of 2011.

Nick Blankenburg is a 24-year-old American weightlifter. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he finished fourth in the men's up to 75 kg category.
Nick was born and raised in Washington, Michigan, and began lifting weights when he was just 12 years old.
In high school, Nick played football and basketball but found that lifting weights helped him maintain muscle mass during his off seasons from sports; this eventually led him to pursue weightlifting as his primary sport.
As a junior college student, Blankenburg lifted 220 pounds for 3 reps (a world record) at a competition – an event that caught the attention of USA Weightlifting coach Dan Gable who invited him to join the US National Team program shortly afterward.
After graduating from Hillsdale College with degrees in biology and mathematics, Nick made his Olympic debut competing at the 2015 World Championships where he placed fifth overall with a total lift of 321 kilograms (701 lb).
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Blankenburg improved upon his previous performance by finishing fourth place overall with a total lift of 407 kilograms (902 lb).
This placement earned him U Sports Male Athlete of The Year honors as well as selection into Canada's national team for next year's Commonwealth Games tournament in Australia.

Chris Tamer is a professional ice hockey player who has played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on November 17, 1970 in Dearborn, Michigan and started playing hockey at an early age.
He originally played for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) before being signed by the NHL's Colorado Avalanche in 1995. In 2001 he moved to play with the Phoenix Coyotes where he spent six seasons before retiring in 2006 due to injury.

Brian Wiseman is a 51-year-old Canadian center who has played for the Chicago Wolves in the National Hockey League (NHL). Wiseman was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 6th round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.

Nathan Gerbe was born on July 24th, 1987 in Oxford, Michigan. Gerbe played high school hockey for the United States National Development Program (USDP).
He then attended the University of Maine, where he played NCAA Division I hockey for the Black Bears. In 2006, Gerbe was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft.
He made his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2007. The next year, Gerbe was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. He played for the Hurricanes for six seasons, before being traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2015.
In 2017, Gerbe signed with the Vegas Golden Knights. He currently plays for the Detroit Red Wings. Nathan Gerbe was drafted in the 142nd overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2005 NHL Draft. York was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round (16th overall) of the 1998 NHL Draft. He played for the Rangers for eight seasons before being traded to Edmonton in the summer of 2006.
