David Villa is a Spanish international striker who has played for Valencia, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. He was born in Langreo, Province of Asturias in 1981 and began his career at local club Sporting Gijón before moving to Real Zaragoza in 2000.

After helping Valencia win the La Liga title in 2006–07, he moved to Barcelona where he won two more league titles (2009–10 and 2011–12) as well as the Champions League twice (2007-08 and 2013-14).

In January 2014, Villa signed for Atlético Madrid on a free transfer after seven years with Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid reached the UEFA Europa League final that season but lost to Sevilla FC on penalties following a 0-0 draw in the final. David Villa represented Spain at Euro 2004, the 2010 World Cup[5] and Euro 2012.

Jamie Maclaren is a Australian international striker who currently plays for Melbourne City. Jamie Maclaren began his career at Sunbury United before moving to Green Gully in 2003.

In 2009, Maclaren joined Newcastle Jets and was part of the team that won the A-League Championship in 2011. He made his senior international debut for Australia during their World Cup qualifying campaign in October 2012, and has since featured at every major tournament.

 including the 2014 World Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup where he scored two goals as Australia reached the semi-finals of both tournaments (the first time an Australian side had done so).

After being released by Newcastle Jets at the end of the 2013–14 season, Maclaren returned to Melbourne City on a three-year contract with immediate effect.[4] On 3 May 2019.

Mathew Leckie is a talented forward who has played for several clubs in Australia and Europe. He signed with Melbourne City in 2018 and has since been an important part of the team, scoring five goals in 26 appearances.

Leckie was born in 1991, making him one of the youngest players to ever play professional football. He began his career at Bulleen Lions before moving to Adelaide United and then Borussia Mönchengladbach II. 

In 2013, he joined Bundesliga side BMG Gladbach and helped them win promotion that year as well as two DFB-Pokals (German Cup).

Andrew Nabbout is a 30-year-old Australian forward who currently plays for Melbourne City in the A-League. Andrew began his career playing for Brunswick City before moving to Green Gully in 2009.

In 2010, he signed with Sunshine George Cross and helped them win the Victorian State League Division 2 championship that year. 

After spending two seasons with Sunshine George Cross, Nabbout departed Australia and joined Melbourne City ahead of the 2013–14 season.

Thomas Glover is a goalkeeper who currently plays for Melbourne City in the A-League. He has played for Sutherland Sharks, representing them at both under-13 and under-15 level before moving to Sydney FC's youth system.

Glover made his professional debut in April 2016, starting in a 2-1 loss to Newcastle United in the A-League. In June 2017 he was loaned out to Perth Glory where he made 11 appearances before returning to Melbourne City ahead of their 2018/19 season.

Aiden O'Neill is a central midfielder who currently plays for Melbourne City. He came through the youth ranks at Brisbane Athletic before signing with Burnley in 2014.

Tim Cahill is a retired Australian footballer who played for Millwall, Everton and Shanghai Shenhua. He has also represented Australia in international football, making his debut in 2002.

After retiring from playing at the end of the 2016 season, Cahill moved into coaching with Hangzhou Greentown before joining Melbourne City as an assistant coach in January 2019.

John Aloisi is a 46-year old Australian striker who currently plays for Western United in the National Premier Leagues Victoria. John Aloisi started his career at Adelaide City before moving to Standard Liège in Belgium.

Simon Colosimo is a defender who has played for Carlton, South Melbourne, Manchester City and Perth Glory in his career. Colosimo has represented Australia at youth level and made his senior debut for South Melbourne in 2000.
