Wayne Gretzky is one of the most successful and celebrated hockey players in history. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999 and is currently a consultant with the Edmonton Oilers.

Wayne Gretzky is one of the greatest players in NHL history. He was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 1978 and went on to win seven Stanley Cups with them. 

He later played for the Indianapolis Racers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and Phoenix Coyotes before retiring in 1999. 

After retirement, Gretzky became a coach with the Phoenix Coyotes and led them to two Pacific Division titles before being fired after just three seasons due to poor performance.

In 2005, he was hired as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs but resigned after just nine games following a series of public criticism from team president Brian Burke. 

Gretzky has since retired from coaching but still plays occasional hockey games; most recently for Team Canada at an international tournament in January 2017.

In 2018, he won his fourth Hart Memorial Trophy as NHL MVP Award making him only the second player after Wayne Gretzky to win four awards consecutively on one team (the other being Mario Lemieux).

Alexander Ovechkin is a professional ice hockey player who played for the Washington Capitals of the NHL. He was drafted first overall in 2004 and has since become one of the game's most dominant players. 

Alexander Ovechkin has been a key part of two Stanley Cup-winning teams (2010 with Washington, 2012 with Dynamo Moscow), as well as several other playoff appearances and championships.

Known for his powerful shot and goal-scoring ability, Alexander Ovechkin is also known for his leadership qualities on and off the ice, having served as captain of both the Capitals and Russia national teams at various points in his career.

Sidney Crosby is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL). 

He was drafted first overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005 and has won four consecutive Stanley Cups with them, making him one of only six players to have three or more championship titles with one team.

Crosby also holds numerous NHL records, including most points (1,087), most assists (927), and most goals (801). In 2014-15 he led the league in scoring for a record seventh time and was awarded his third Hart Memorial Trophy as MVP of the NHL season. 

Crosby is considered to be one of the greatest players ever and has been honored with many accolades including being named Sportsman of The Year twice by The Globe And Mail newspaper.

He passed away at the age of 88 after a long battle with dementia. Gordie Howe is one of the most iconic NHL players of all time and was a dominant force on both sides of the ice. 

He led Detroit to eight Stanley Cup championships during his illustrious career, and he also won an Olympic gold medal with Canada in 1972.

After retiring from professional play, Gordie Howe served as president of the Red Wings organization for many years before passing away in 2011 at the age of 88. 

The Hockey Hall Of Fame inducted Gordie Howe into its hallowed halls in 1996, and he has since been recognized as one of the sport's greatest-ever ambassadors.

Bobby Orr is one of the most decorated hockey players in history, winning six Stanley Cup championships and being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979.

His prowess on defense led to him becoming known as "The Great One", and he was a key player for Boston Bruins throughout his career. He retired from playing in 1981 but later became head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers before retiring for good in 1997.

After playing his entire career in North America, Bobby Orr retired from hockey in 1978. 4. He later became a commentator for both Canadian and American broadcasts of ice hockey games.

Mario Lemieux is one of the most successful hockey players of all time. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997 and won four Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Lemieux began playing organized hockey at a young age. 

He played for several minor league teams before joining the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1984-85 season. In his rookie year, Lemieux led the NHL in scoring with 104 points (40 goals and 62 assists).

The following year he repeated as leading scorer and helped lead Pittsburg to their first-ever Stanley Cup victory over Calgary Flames. 

At 36 years old, Lemieux became only the fifth player to score 50 or more goals in each of his first 10 seasons in an NHL career During his 20-year career.

Mario scored 692 total goals including 581 while playing for Pittsburgh Penguins alone; this makes him one of only six players to score 700 regular season goals during their professional careers In the 1996-97 season he captured his fourth.

Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Patrick Kane, and Nathan MacKinnon), earning him honours such as Canadian Hockey League Player of Year and OHL First-Team All-Star selection along the way during that impressive season. 

Making him eligible for entry into Canada's National Junior Team Program heading into the 2016 World Junior Championships where he led all rookies with six points (two goals + four assists) en route to winning the bronze medal after losing the semifinal game against Russia 2–1.

Richard also holds the distinction of being the first player to score 50 goals in a season, as well as the youngest player ever to win the Stanley Cup (at just 18 years old). 

Maurice Richard has been inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, among other halls of fame around the world.

In recognition of his remarkable achievements on and off the ice, Maurice Richard was awarded honorary Canadian citizenship in 2013. Maurice Richard was one of the most popular and iconic players in Canadien's history. 

He scored more than 500 goals during his career and is still considered one of the all-time greats. Maurice Richard also had a colorful off-the-ice life, often engaging in shenanigans with teammates and opponents alike.

Among other things, he once urinated on an opponent's bench while playing against the Philadelphia Flyers. 

In 1960, after scoring 507 goals over 14 seasons with Montreal, Richard opted to join the new Quebec Nordiques instead of signing an extension with the Canadiens. 

The move caused a rift between Richard and teammate Jean Beliveau which never healed completely. Maurice Richard died from cancer at age 78 in 2000.

He played his entire career with the Edmonton Oilers, amassing over 900 points in 1,248 games. In 1988 he led Edmonton to their first Stanley Cup championship in 25 years, and was named MVP of the playoffs as well as NHLPA Player of the Year.

Lady Byng Memorial Trophy recipient as player adjudged best gentleman or lady athlete award given annually by Canadian Press Association members since 1936. 

He became first player ever to win both trophies outright—and Art Ross trophy awarded annually by The Professional Hockey Writers' Association "to the player adjudged most valuable scorer.

He finished second in voting for the Art Ross Trophy as the leading scorer in 2017–18. Bergeron was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in 2001, but he never played for them because they were moved to Denver before he could make his debut with them.

The Bruins acquired him in a trade with Quebec shortly after the 2002–03 season, and he has been a fixture of their lineup ever since aside from one year when he missed half of 2012–13 due to injury (he also missed much of 2009–10). 

On September 25th, 2018 Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement from professional hockey following 17 seasons of playing 1,257 games scoring 801 points and averaging 0:43 per game.

Including 181 goals and 149 assists over that time span making him the only player ever to score more than 900 career points while averaging under forty minutes played per game Patrice Bergeron has spent his entire professional career with the Boston Bruins and is one of the most consistent players in the NHL.

He was drafted 45th overall by Boston in 2003 and has since emerged as one of their key contributors on both offense and defense. 

Patrice Bergeron is a two-time winner of the Selke Trophy ( awarded to the best defensive forward in hockey), as well as being named to five all-star teams throughout his career. 

In 2018 he became just the third player in league history to record at least 1,500 points and 500 assists for his career - joining Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe Jr., among others. 

Patrice Bergeron will be an unrestricted free agent at the season's end, but there are no indications that he plans to retire from playing hockey anytime soon.

He captained Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) from 2016-2018 and helped lead them to two championships during that time period. 

Vasilevskiy made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 9th, 2018 against the Carolina Hurricanes and recorded a win in his first game as a starter. 

Andrei is currently playing for Russian club Ufa in the KHL playoffs and has yet to lose any games this postseason thus far.

Andrei Vasilevskiy is an extremely talented goaltender who will hopefully continue to develop and reach even greater heights within the NHL.

Guy Lafleur played for many teams throughout his career, including Montreal Canadiens, Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. 

His most famous moment as a player came when he scored the goal that won the Stanley Cup for Montreal Canadiens in 1986.

After retiring from playing, Guy Lafleur went on to have a successful career as a coach with several different teams including Quebec Remparts and CSKA Moscow Major League Hockey Club (KHL). 

In 2017, it was announced that Guy Lafleur had prostate cancer and would not be able to attend his induction ceremony into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame later that year due to health concerns.

Guy Lafleur passed away at age 70 after battling cancer for several years Guy Lafleur was a prolific scorer in the NHL, amassing over 1,500 points in his career. He was drafted first overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 1971 and played for them until 1985. 

After leaving Montreal he played for the New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques before retiring from hockey in 1991. Guy Lafleur won six Stanley Cups with the Canadiens, including three straight from 1976 to 1979.

In 1988 he was part of Canada's Olympic team that won the gold medal at Sarajevo; he also represented his country at two World Championships and one Olympics thereafter. 

Guy Lafleur is now an ambassador for Hockey Canada and actively promotes youth hockey throughout North America as president of L'Association Québécoise de Hockey et du Sport Électronique (AQHSE).

Stan Mikita was a legendary player in the NHL who helped lead the Chicago Black Hawks to championships. He is one of just six players to score over 1,000 career points in the NHL and he holds several records for most consecutive games played, most penalty minutes accrued, and most assists.

In 1983, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and his number 16 jersey is retired by the Blackhawks. After retirement from playing hockey, Stan became a TV commentator and ambassador for youth hockey programs across North America. 

He passed away on August 7th 2018 at age 78 after a long battle with cancer Stan Mikita was a legendary center for the Chicago Black Hawks and Canada.

He played in over 1,000 games during his playing career and was an integral part of several Stanley Cup-winning teams. In 1958, Stan Mikita led the Blackhawks to their first championship victory as a rookie and he continued to be one of the team's key players throughout the 1960s and 1970s. 

In 1974, Stan Mikita became just the sixth player in NHL history to score 50 goals in a season – a feat that he repeated three more times over the course of his career.

After retiring from professional hockey in 1980, Stan Mikita went on to have an illustrious coaching career with both Team Canada and HC Sochi KHL (Russian Hockey League). 

At age 71, Stan Mikita remains active as a broadcaster for both regular season and playoff games involving his beloved Blackhawks organization.

Steve Yzerman currently serves as president of Rogers Communications Inc., one of Canada's largest telecom companies Steve Yzerman was a well-known player in the NHL and Olympic Games. 

He played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1988 to 2016, winning 5 Stanley Cups (1991, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2013). He also captained Canada to their first-ever Gold Medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

In 2009 he became General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning and led them to two Eastern Conference Championships before retiring after the 2016 season.

Artemi Panarin is a talented left wing who has been playing in the NHL since 2016. In his first three seasons, he was an integral part of the Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup-winning team.

He then signed with the New York Rangers in 2021 and helped them reach the playoffs that year. However, they were unable to win any games and eventually lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round.

In 2022-23, Panarin struggled for ice time with New York as injuries started piling up for him and he spent most of his time on their AHL affiliate team instead of with the Rangers themselves. 

Panarin was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft.

He played for Vityaz Chekhov before joining Ak Bars Kazan in 2013. Panarin won a gold medal with Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics and helped his team win another championship in 2017. 

He signed with Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent in 2018, where he has since been an integral part of their roster.

In 2019, Panarin was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy as Canada's most gentlemanly player during playoffs; this marked his first time being honored with such an award outside of Russia.

Belarusian hockey leagues Panarin is expected to become a free agent after this season and will likely join one of the top teams in the ice hockey league.

In 2019-20, Makar continued where he left off from last year recording 36 points (14G-24A) while being named an alternate captain by head coach Jared Bednar at age 20 years old - a record for the youngest player ever elected as captain of an NHL franchise. 

As one of only two players under 25 years old who have scored more than 100 goals during their professional careers, Makar is widely considered one of hockey's brightest young stars and is expected to continue producing at a high level well into his 30s Makar was drafted 4th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2017 NHL Draft.

He has spent most of his career with the Avalanche, appearing in over 100 games and scoring 22 goals and 53 assists. Makar is a right-shooting defenceman who is known as a physical player on the ice.

He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1990 and has spent his entire career with them. In 2006, he became the first goaltender to win three Stanley Cups (with the Devils). He retired at the end of the 2015 season, after a long and successful career with the New Jersey Devils.

Leon Draisaitl is a young, talented center/left wing who was drafted 3rd overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2014 NHL Draft. 

He has had an impressive playing career to date, representing Germany at various junior levels before making his debut with them at the senior level in 2013. 

In 2014 he signed with the Oilers and made his professional debut that season, scoring 10 goals and adding 18 assists for 28 points in 48 games played.

In 2015-16 Leon continued to perform well for Edmonton, posting 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) in 66 games played as they reached the playoffs for only the second time in franchise history; however, they were unable to advance past the first round this time around. 

Leon score 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 82 games as he led all forwards on Edmonton's roster en route to their third consecutive playoff appearance; however, once again they were unable to make it past the first round this time around - losing 2-1 against Calgary Flames in six hard-fought games.

Leon so far - recording 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists) through 35 games played which puts him 5th among all NHL players currently playing - leading many pundits and experts to declare him one of 'the best centers / left wings' currently active.

In his rookie season with the Lighting, Point scored 26 goals and 66 points in 82 games played. He has continued to be one of the team's top scorers during his sophomore year, tallying 43 goals and 97 points through 78 games so far this season. 

With such consistent play at both center and wing throughout his career thus far, it is no wonder that Point has been named to Canada's World Junior Championship roster for 2018.

At just 6'1", David is one of the smallest players in the NHL and his size has often been a disadvantage against bigger opposition.

Despite this, David has played for HC Kladno (junior), Boston Bruins (rookie), Worcester Sharks (AHL) and Providence Bruins (ECHL). 

In 2016-17 he led all AHL rookies with 36 goals and 76 points in 78 games as Worcester Sharks advanced to the Calder Cup Final where they lost to Toronto Marlies 4-3.

The following season he posted 24 goals and 56 points in 73 games as Providence was again eliminated from playoff contention late in the season by Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2.

In overtime of Game 7 of their first-round series which also went into overtime after regulation time had expired resulting David Pastrňák was drafted 25th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Draft.

David Pastrňák has played for the Czech Republic at both junior and senior levels, including a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships in 2013. David Pastrňák is primarily a right-wing, but he can also play center or left-wing if needed. 

David Pastrňák scored his first professional goal on October 25th, 2014 against Montreal Canadiens goaltender Dustin Tokarski. 

Injuries have been an issue for David Pastrňák throughout his career; however, he has bounced back each time to play again later that season or even further down the line.

It is expected that David Pastrnaek will be playing with the Bruins full-time starting next season after impressing during his rookie campaign last year.

32. Mike Bossy

Bossy retired from playing hockey in 1996 after suffering a number of injuries but continued to work as an ambassador for various charities throughout his life.

In 2022, Mike Bossy died at 65 years old following a long battle with cancer Bossy was a prolific scorer during his NHL career, amassing over 1000 points in the league. 

He led the Islanders to four consecutive Stanley Cup championships and is one of only six players to win three MVP awards. Bossy also won an Olympic gold medal with Canada in 1984 and was inducted into both the Hockey Hall of Fame as well as the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.

33. Nicklas Lidström

Nicklas Lidström was a highly successful defenceman in his playing days and is now considered one of the all-time greats. He began his career with Västerås IK before moving to Detroit Red Wings where he won several championships and accolades, including being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.

Lidström also represented Sweden at numerous tournaments, including the Winter Olympics and World Championships, wearing the national team's colors with distinction on many occasions. 

His passion for hockey never wavered throughout his illustrious career – he still regularly attends games today as a fan. Nicklas Lidström was drafted 53rd overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1989 NHL Draft.

He played his entire career with the Red Wings, winning three Stanley Cups and making an appearance in six other Finals. Nicklas Lidström also represented Sweden at several Winter Olympics, including at the 2006 Turin where he won a silver medal. 

In 2004, Nicklas Lidström helped Team Sweden win gold at the World Championships in Prague.

Ray Bourque is a three-time Stanley Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist with the Boston Bruins. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.

In 2001, he was awarded the Lester B. Pearson Award as Canada's top civilian athlete. Bourque has founded his own hockey school in Saint Laurent, Quebec, which has produced many successful players including Peca and Plekanec who both played for Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.

Ray Bourque is married to Karen and they have four children; daughter Raine, son Nathan, and daughters Morgan and Brookelynn respectively Ray Bourque was a legendary defenceman who played in the NHL for 17 seasons. 

He won two Stanley Cups with the Boston Bruins and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006.

Ray Bourque was born on February 10, 1963, in Trail, BC. His father, Raymond Sr., played hockey as a member of the Canadian military team that competed at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia. 

After playing junior hockey with Vernon Bream's Kamloops Blazers program, Ray Bourque made his pro debut with Vancouver Canucks affiliate Portland Winter Hawks during the 1981-82 season.

In 1979, he was drafted by Boston Bruins and spent most of his career there before being traded to Colorado Avalanche (1992), Washington Capitals (1994), Nashville Predators (1998) and finally Montreal Canadiens (2001). 

Over 17 seasons in which he played over 1000 games for 5 different teams – scoring 424 goals along the way – it is safe to say that no player has had a more impressive NHL career than Ray Bourque.

Outside of professional ice skating and playing hockey himself – both activities he enjoys very much - Ray also likes spending time with his wife Tracy and their three children: Tracey Lee ('96), Ryan Alexander ('98) and Jordan Marie ('01).

In his first season with Preds' main club, he notched 20 points (5G+15A) while helping lead them to their first-ever playoff appearance. 

The following year he put up 41 points (10G+31A), earning him an All-Star selection and a spot on Team Europe at both the World Championships and Olympic games; where Switzerland finished fourth after being eliminated from medal contention early on by Canada and Sweden respectively.

Josi's consistent play during his time as a Predator saw him earn the alternate captaincy for two consecutive seasons from 2012-14 before taking over full-time starting 2015-16 when Shea Weber left for Montreal Canadiens. 

Leading Nashville to back-to-back Presidents’ Trophy victories that same year – becoming just one player out of nine total players along with teammate Pekka Rinne who have won multiple MVP awards during their careers playing for either Predators or Penguins organization teams combined.

Roman also became just the second player ever behind Patrick Roy to be named league MVP twice consecutively as well as capturing 3 other major individual honors such as First All-Star Team Selection Twice (NHL & NLA).

He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006 and is currently an analyst on NBC Sports Network. Chelios was born in Detroit, Michigan, and played high school hockey at West Catholic High School before playing college hockey at the University of Wisconsin.

After graduating from college, Chelios joined the Atlanta Thrashers as their first-round pick (40th overall) in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. He spent most of his career with Montreal Canadiens, but also played for Chicago Blackhawks, St Louis Blues, and Dallas Stars during his time in the NHL. 

In 2002, Chris Chelios won a silver medal with Team USA at the Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City – becoming only the second player ever to win both an Olympic gold medal AND a Stanley Cup championship (the other being Wayne Gretzky).

Phil Esposito also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders, Chicago Black Hawks and Philadelphia Flyers during his career. His final season was 1980-81 with Philadelphia where he scored 48 goals and added 95 assists for 157 points in just 78 games.

Phil Esposito is widely considered one of the greatest NHL players ever and is especially remembered for his defensive play on skates as well as his clutch-scoring ability at key moments in playoff games (he has 25 game-winning goals). 

In 2002, he was named an Officer of the Order of Canada "for exceptional contributions to the sport. Phil Esposito currently resides near Tampa Bay Florida after spending many years living both in Massachusetts and Florida respectively (he owns a home near Miami Beach).

Phil Esposito was a dominant player in the NHL for many years and is still considered one of the best centremen to have ever played. He scored over 1000 goals throughout his career, which makes him one of the most prolific goal-scorers in league history. 

Phil Esposito also had an impressive record as a defender, being named to six All-Star teams and winning three Stanley Cups with Chicago Blackhawks. 

After playing his entire career in North America, Phil Esposito made the switch to play for Canada at the international level and represented them brilliantly on several occasions, including two Olympic gold medals.

On July 1st 2009, he signed with the Montreal Canadiens as a free agent after spending eight seasons with the Avalanche organization since being drafted by them 15th overall in 1987.

With 566 points (311 goals and 269 assists), he is third on both lists behind only Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe when it comes to most all-time scoring leaders among Canadian-born players in NHL history behind only Bobby Orr (1,561)and Maurice Richard(1,667). 

In recognition of his achievements on ice as well as his work off it within hockey circles, Sakic was awarded an Order of Canada medal in 2008 which made him one of just 25 people ever to be bestowed this honor from Queen Elizabeth II herself.

In 2019, Kaprizov was named to Russia's World Championship roster but did not play due to an injury suffered during training camp; he has since recovered and returned to playing with Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

Kaprizov has been praised for his speed, skill on the ice, and shot accuracy from distance; he is seen as one of Russia’s most promising young hockey players.

Kirill Kaprizov is a left-handed shooting Russian forward who has spent the majority of his playing career in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild. Kaprizov was drafted by the Wild 135th overall in 2015 and made his debut that season.

Doug Harvey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1973 and has since been recognized as one of Canada's greatest sports icons ever. Doug Harvey was a defenceman who played for Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, St.

Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings during his playing career. Doug Harvey was born in Toronto in 1945 and started his hockey career with the Junior Toronto Munster Aces before signing with Montreal Canadiens as a free agent in 1965. 

In 1969, Harvey retired from professional hockey after spending two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings.

He later became an assistant coach for the Quebec Nordiques of the NHL before retiring from coaching in 1992. Doug Harvey passed away on February 5th, 2003 at age 66 due to complications arising from heart surgery the previous year. 

As one of the most successful defencemen ever to play in the NHL, Doug Harvey is remembered fondly by many fans both old and new.

Mitch Marner is a skilled and talented player who has quickly become one of the brightest young stars in the NHL. 

He first made a name for himself as a highly-talented junior hockey player, winning several awards and accolades along the way.

After making his debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2017, Marner quickly established himself as an elite talent on both sides of the ice. 

His combination of speed, skill, and creativity makes him difficult to defend against - no matter how experienced their opponent may be.

Marner is currently playing at an All-Star level for Toronto, helping them remain competitive in what has been a tough league season so far.

Johnny Gaudreau is a 29-year-old American forward who currently plays for the Calgary Flames. Gaudreau was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round, 22nd overall of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

He then signed with Calgary as an unrestricted free agent in July 2014. In his rookie season (2014-15), Gaudreau set career highs in points (73) and assists (38). 

His 73 points were second highest ever to Jarome Iginla, while his 38 assists ranked third behind Patrick Kane and Phil Kessel.

The following season he improved on both numbers, scoring 94 points and assisting on 51 goals – good for fourth place all-time among rookies in both categories behind only. 

Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, and Mario Lemieux respectively; additionally he made his Stanley Cup playoff debut that year playing 11 games before being eliminated by Anaheim in the first round.

In 2016-17, Johnny continued where he left off from 2015-16 by setting new personal bests again with 97 points (41 goals + 62 assists) en route to being named runner-up for the Hart Memorial Trophy as MVP of the NHL playoffs after leading Calgary to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 2004. 

Injury has been a common theme throughout much of Johnny's professional career - missing over 60% of regular season games due to injury three times including 65 contests during 2017–18 which led some pundits [to] question whether or not this would be his last hurrah. 

However, at age 30 there is still plenty of hockey left inside “Johnny Hockey” so fingers crossed.

Johnny Gaudreau was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 104th overall slot of the 2011 NHL Draft. The left winger has spent his entire professional career with the Flames, debuting in 2014-15. 

Johnny is a prolific scorer, having scored at least 20 goals four times and 40 or more once during his time in Calgary. 

He also racked up over 100 points twice, earning him both an Art Ross Trophy and Hart Memorial Trophy as MVP of the NHL's postseason competition. 

In April 2018, it was announced that Gaudreau had signed an eight-year contract extension with Calgary worth $49 million CAD (approximately £37 million GBP). 

Johnny is considered one of Canada’s most promising young players and holds dual citizenship with both Canada and the United States; he made his international debut for Team USA at age 19 against Denmark back in October 2013.

50. Brendan Shanahan

Brendan Shanahan is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played for the New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, Düsseldorfer EG and Hartford Whalers in the NHL.

In 2013, Brendan was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. After retiring from playing professionally, Brendan became an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings in 2011-2012 before becoming a head coach on July 1st, 2014.

As of November 2017, Brendan's team has won four Stanley Cup championships - most recently in 2018 - making him one of only two coaches to win multiple titles with three different teams (the other being Scotty Bowman). 

Brendan Shanahan is a retired professional ice hockey player who played his entire career with the New York Rangers.

He was drafted by the Devils in 1987 and spent 10 seasons with them before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1997. Shanahan won two Stanley Cups as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, in 2002 and 2009, and also represented Canada at three Winter Olympics (2002, 2006, 2010). 

After retiring from playing he served as General Manager of the Colorado Avalanche for four years before taking up a role as Director of Player Safety for the NHL.

McAvoy is a young, talented defenseman who has had success playing in the NHL. McAvoy was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and has since played for them on multiple occasions.

He is currently with the Toronto Maple Leafs and is considered one of their most promising players. McAvoy's skillset includes strong skating, good puck handling, and excellent passing ability which allows him to create chances for his teammates offensively or defensively.

His high level of play has led to him being nominated for both the Calder Memorial Trophy (2016) as well as The Ted Lindsay Award (2018). 

As a result of his talent and consistent performance over time, McAvoy is considered one of hockey's most promising stars heading into future seasons At 19 years old, Charlie McAvoy is already one of the most promising defensemen in the NHL.

He was drafted 14th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2016 and has since made an impact on their blueline. In 2017-2018, he played for the US National Team at both the World Juniors and Olympic Games tournaments, impressing his play. 

With a long career ahead of him, Charlie McAvoy will be looking to cement himself as a top defenseman in the NHL.

Final Words

The best players in hockey history are absolutely incredible athletes. They have the ability to control a game from start to finish, and can make even the simplest play seem like a masterpiece.
