Heart of Midlothian Football Club, or simply Hearts, is one of Scotland’s oldest and most successful football clubs. Founded in 1874 in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, the team’s name was inspired by the famous novel by Sir Walter Scott, The Heart of Midlothian.

Robert Snodgrass is a Scottish footballer who currently plays for Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership. He has played for Rangers and Livingston before joining Hearts in 2016.

At international level, he has represented Scotland at youth level and made his senior debut in 2009. In total, Snodgrass has made over 200 appearances in the Premier League, Champions League and Europa League, as well as appearing for England at under-21 level.

He is known for his powerful forward play on the wing or through the middle of midfield, which has earned him nicknames such as "The Beast" and "Snoddy". 

On 11 May 2019, it was announced that Snodgrass would retire from professional football after six years with Heart of Midlothian Robert Snodgrass is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club West Ham United and the Scotland national team.

Robert Snodgrass began his career with Livingston before joining Leeds United in 2007. After spending two seasons at Elland Road, he was loaned to Norwich City in 2008. 

He made his debut for Hull City in 2009 and spent five years at the KC Stadium before moving to Manchester United in 2014. 

At Old Trafford, he became one of the most consistent players on their roster, winning three Premier League titles and an FA Cup during his time there.

In 2017, he moved to West Ham United along with teammate Marko Arnautovic; they formed an attack-minded partnership that led to them being named joint vice-captains of the club later that year.

After scoring 14 goals across all competitions for West Ham during the 2018–19 season, Snodgrass signed a new contract with the club until 2021 on 1 January 2019. 

With 28 appearances and 7 goals for Scotland over seven years since making his international debut under Gordon Strachan in 2007, Robert Snodgrass has cemented himself as one of Scotland's most reliable players both domestically and internationally.

James Hill was born in Bristol, England on 10 January 2002. He is a central defender and currently plays for Heart of Midlothian on loan from AFC Bournemouth.

James has played for the under-16s, u-17s, u-19s and the reserve team at Bristol City before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2016. 

James made his professional debut for AFC Bournemouth in a League Cup match against Wokingham Town in September 2017 and started every league game until he joined Hearts in January 2019.

In total, James has made 36 appearances for AFC Bournemouth and 3 appearances for Wales U21s since making his debut aged 16 years old.

Jamie Walker is a Scottish winger who currently plays for Bradford City. Walker started his career at Heart of Midlothian before moving to Bradford City in 2015.

Walker has made over 100 appearances for both clubs and has scored 10 goals during his career so far. 

Walker represented Scotland at under-16, under-17, under-19 and Under 21 level, playing for the country on multiple occasions including Euro 2016 qualifying campaigns.

With continued performances in the Championship and with England also being interested in signing Walker, he could be an exciting player to watch in the coming years as he continues to develop his game Walker was born in Edinburgh and started his career at hometown club Heart of Midlothian.

Kisnorbo is a defender and midfielder who has played for Troyes in Ligue 1. Kisnorbo was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1981. 

He started his career playing for Thomastown Devils in the Victorian Premier League, before joining North Glenroy in the National Soccer League.

He then played for Essendon City in the A-League, before moving to France to play for Fawkner Blues and Bulleen Zebras.

Djoum is a Cameroonian midfielder who has played for Anderlecht, Brussels and Dundee United in Scotland. Djoum was born in Cameroon in 1989 and started his career with R.S.D.

Niemi is a Finnish professional goalkeeper who has played for a number of teams, most notably Oulu and Helsinki. 

Niemi has enjoyed considerable success throughout his career, winning the Finnish League Cup with Oulu in 2006 and the Finnish Cup with Helsinki in 2007.

Niemi is a regular member of the Finland national team, and played at the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 European Championship.

Elliot started his career with Hutchison Vale BC before moving on to Heart of Midlothian in 2004. He made his senior debut for the Hearts in 2006 and went on to play 110 apps for the club.

In 2008, Elliot joined Livingston on a loan deal and helped the club win the Scottish Cup. Elliot moved to Motherwell in 2009 and spent two seasons with the club.

Rubén Palazuelos is a Spanish defensive midfielder who has played for Gimnástica since the 2016/17 season. Palazuelos was born in Santander, Spain on 11 April 1983.

George Leckie Sinclair was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on 12 December 1884. Sinclair played football for Edinburgh King's Park in his youth. He made his debut for Rangers in 1904, and went on to play for the club for over 25 years.

Sinclair won two Scottish Championships with Rangers, in 1920 and 1921. He also won three Scottish Cups, in 1906, 1907, and 1914. Sinclair played for Scotland on 17 occasions, and scored six goals. He retired from playing football in 1935.

Sinclair later became a football coach, and worked with the Scotland national team. He died in Edinburgh, Scotland on 18 December 1959. 

George Sinclair was born in Edinburgh in 1906 and played for Leith Athletic, Heart of Midlothian, Dunfermline Athletic, Cowdenbeath and Scotland between 1906 and 1921.

Beni Baningime is a central midfielder who plays for Kinshasa-based side, JS Kabila. Baningime made his senior debut for the DR Congo in 2017. He has since gone on to make 11 appearances for the national team.

Beni is a product of the Kinshasa-based Academy. He began his career at the club and made his debut in the Belgian second division in 2016. Beni is a versatile player who can play in a number of midfield positions.

He is known for his passing and attacking ability. Beni is the son of former DR Congo international, Tangama. 

Beni Baningime is a young striker who has played for Everton since 2007. He moved to Wigan Athletic on a loan in 2019, and has since made one appearance for Derby County.

He is currently playing for Heart of Midlothian, and is their highest-profile player. Baningime is a quick and direct forward, who is often involved in the attacking play.

Stéphane Adam is a retired French striker who played for clubs such as Lille, Marseille, and Paris Saint-Germain. Adam made his professional debut in 1989 with Lille and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club.

He joined Marseille in 1995 and won the Ligue 1 title with the club in 1998. Adam then joined PSG and won the French Cup and Ligue 1 title with the club in 2002. He retired from football in 2004, having made over 280 appearances in total.

Adam currently works as a football analyst for French television channel beIN Sports. Adam was named in the France squad for the 2002 World Cup but did not feature in any of the team's matches. 

He was a member of the France squad for the 2006 World Cup but did not feature in any of the team's matches.

Alan Anderson was a Scottish football centre half who played for both United Crossroads and Rangers. He represented Scotland at youth level and made his senior international debut in 1961.

Anderson was a long-time member of the Rangers first team, making over 350 appearances for the club. He also won five Scottish League championships and two Scottish Cups. After retiring from football, Anderson became a coach at Rangers.

He later served as assistant manager to Graeme Souness at Southampton and Liverpool. Anderson died in February 2022, aged 82. 

Anderson started his career with Dalkeith Thistle in the Scottish Highland Football League. He then moved to Falkirk, where he made 74 appearances and scored 0 goals.

In 1962, he transferred to Millwall, where he played for 6 seasons. Anderson then joined Heart of Midlothian in 1976, where he played for 352 games and scored 21 goals. Anderson made his international debut for Scotland in 1967. 

He played for Scotland until 1974, and scored 5 goals in total. Anderson then moved to England to play for Scunthorpe United and Millwall again.

Anderson retired from professional football in 1976. Anderson is now a coach at Heart of Midlothian.

Final Words

Heart of Midlothian Football Club, or simply Hearts, is one of Scotland’s oldest and most successful football clubs. The club was formed in 1874 and played its first official game in May 1875.

The club has won the Scottish League Championship 10 times, the Scottish Cup 7 times, and the Scottish League Cup 4 times. The club has also won the Scottish Cup Winners’ Cup twice. The club’s home ground is Tynecastle Stadium.
