The Gonzaga Bulldogs Men’s Basketball team has been a powerhouse in the NCAA for over two decades. From their remarkable success under legendary head coach Mark Few to their historic run of Final Four appearances, they have set an incredibly high bar for collegiate basketball excellence.

Sabonis was drafted 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2016 NBA Draft. He played for two teams in Europe before joining Lithuanian side Unicaja Málaga in 2012.

Sabonis helped his team to win the Spanish League championship and EuroLeague title during his time there. He joined Sacramento Kings as a free agent at the end of the 2017–18 season and made an immediate impact on their roster with 15 points per game average over 20 appearances that season.

In 2018–19, he averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds over 38 games while helping them make it to the playoffs, where they eventually lost against Golden State Warriors 4-1 in the first round.

 Sabonis is considered one of Lithuania’s most promising young players and has been called up several times to represent his country at the international level including at FIBA World Cup 2019.

Qualifiers (where they finished second behind Serbia) and EuroBasket 2021 qualification campaign (they narrowly missed out on qualifying for their first-ever major tournament).

In the 2020 Summer Olympics, Sabonis led Lithuania's national team to a Bronze medal finish after losing 2-0 against eventual champions USA in the quarterfinals. 

His was also Sabonis' Olympic debut aged just 22 years old which makes him one of only four players under 23. Who has won an Olympic medal with their respective countries - alongside Andre Iguodala (USA), Pau Gasol (Spain) & Serge Ibaka(France).

Kelly Olynyk was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 19th, 1991. He played college basketball for Gonzaga before being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2013.

Kelly has since spent time with the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, among other teams. In 2017 he signed with the Utah Jazz as a free agent. As a center or power forward, Kelly is known for his shot-blocking and scoring ability from inside and out of the paint.

Kelly Olynyk is a 7-foot forward who has played for the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets in the NBA. Kelly was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft but never played for them because he was traded to Miami before they could sign him. 

In 2013, he became an All-American and won WCC Player of The Year honors while playing at Gonzaga University.

After two seasons with Utah, Kelly signed with Detroit this offseason and will be looking to help them make some noise in the playoffs this year. Kelly is married to former Miss Universe Australia Olivia Newton-John and they have three children together - Mia Rose (born 2015), Ava Max (born 2018) and Kit Kat (born 2020).

Jalen Suggs was born in 2001 and is a 21-year old point guard for the Orlando Magic. Jalen attended Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota before going on to play college basketball at Gonzaga University.

In 2021, he was selected 5th overall by the Orlando Magic in the NBA draft. Jalen has appeared in 231 games (starting 164) over 4 seasons with Orlando, averaging 10 points and 3 assists per game while shooting 43% from three-point range.

He is currently a free agent and remains unsigned as of early 2019 Suggs is a versatile player who can play both the point and shooting guard positions. He was consensus second-team All-American in 2021, making him one of the most decorated players in WCC history.

Suggs helped lead the Cougars to their first conference championship in program history as a junior in 2019, earning WCC Newcomer of the Year honors along the way. The 2020 McDonald's All-American nominee averaged 21 points per game during his senior season at Minnesota before declaring for the NBA Draft following his collegiate career.

1. Brandon Clarke was born on September 19, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

2. He is a Canadian / American power forward who played collegiately at San Jose State and Gonzaga.

3. In the 2017–2018 season, he averaged 11.8 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Spartans while leading them to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament as a 14 seed before losing to Purdue in the first round.

4. The following year he averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds per game for Gonzaga during their run to the Elite Eight where they fell to Kansas despite his 21-point performance in overtime of their semifinal matchup with UCLA which included 10 rebounds off the bench.

5. Clarke has been signed by Memphis Grizzlies as a free agent this offseason and will be hoping to make an impact from day one Brandon Clarke was drafted 21st overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2019 NBA Draft. 

He played college basketball for the Memphis Grizzlies, where he won multiple awards and accolades including being a Third-team All-American and Defensive Player of the Year.

Brandon Clarke has had a successful career as an NBA player thus far, winning Rookie of the Year honors with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2020 and making it to third-team All-America status in 2019.

Chet Holmgren is a 20-year old center/power forward who was drafted 2nd overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2022 NBA draft. At Gonzaga, he won two WCC titles and helped lead his team to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in both of his seasons there.

He has appeared in 220 games (all starts) for Oklahoma City averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game over that time period. Chet's younger brother Tanner also plays professionally.

Overseas, most recently with Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel’s top division Liga Leumit Chet Holmgren was a consensus second-team All-American in 2022 and won numerous awards during his career at the collegiate level.

He played for the Washington State Cougars from 2020 to 2024, making him one of the most decorated players in WCC history. 

In 2021, he was named McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic MVP while playing for Team USA at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup that year. Chet is now an analyst with ESPN who will provide commentary on college basketball games throughout the season.

6. Drew Timme

Drew Timme is a college basketball player who will be playing for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in 2021. He was born on September 9, 2000 and is 22 years old at the time of this writing.

Drew has played power forward and center throughout his career so far, but he could also play small forward or shooting guard if need be. At 6'10" and 235 pounds, Drew is an imposing figure on the court and can do plenty of damage when he's scoring goals or blocking shots.

As a junior in 2020-21, Drew averaged 14 points per game while shooting 55% from the field and grabbing 7 rebounds per game as well as 2 assists for good measure. 

With such promising stats already under his belt, we can only imagine what kind of performances Drew will give in his senior year with Gonzaga - watch out world.

Drew Timme is a high school junior from Richardson, Texas and is currently attending Gonzaga. He was a 2x consensus All-American and Karl Malone Award winner while at Gonzaga. Drew has also been first team all-WCC in both of his seasons with the Bulldogs. 

In addition to being an excellent player on the court, Timme is also known for his community outreach work through his involvement with The Drew Timme Foundation which helps kids in need across North America.

Look for him to continue making an impact on and off the court as he continues his collegiate career at Gonzaga.

Ronny Turiaf was a French player who played in the NBA for six seasons. He started his career with the Yakima Sun Kings before playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors between 2006 and 2014.

Known as one of France's most consistent players, Ronny Turiaf won two EuroBasket championships with Spain in 2005 and 2007. In September 2013, he announced that he had been diagnosed with leukemia but made a full recovery after chemotherapy treatments.

Ronny Turiaf was born in France and played for the country's national basketball team from 1995-2003. He then joined the New York Knicks, where he became an integral part of their championship run in 2010-11. 

In 2011, Ronny signed with ASVEL of the French League and helped lead them to a league title that year as well.

The following season, Ronny moved to Washington Wizards before joining Miami Heat in 2012-13; both teams reached the playoffs but were eliminated by eventual champions Los Angeles Clippers in successive seasons.

Now 34 years old, Ronny has retired from playing professional basketball and is now focusing on his role as head coach of a youth club near Paris.

8. Adam Morrison

Morrison was drafted third overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. Morrison played for the Bobcats until 2012, when he was traded to the Miami Heat.

Morrison has won an NBA championship with both Charlotte and Miami. In 2013, Morrison signed with Turkish club Fenerbahçe Ülker Istanbul as a free agent. Morrison is one of only four players in history to score over 20,000 points and record over 2,000 rebounds in their career .

Morrison is also a two time Olympic Gold Medalist (2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics). 

Adam Morrrison has been married to former WNBA player Leslie McDonald since 2010; they have one child together Morrison was a two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

He also won an NBA All-Rookie Second Team award in 2007, and helped lead the team to victory in the Turkish Cup Championship in 2012. 

Morrison played collegiate basketball at Mead HS before spending one season as a professional player with Beşiktaş of Turkey. In 2017, Morrison took on his first coaching role as assistant coach for Mead High School's varsity squad, where he continues to work today.

Zach Collins was born on November 19, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He played high school basketball at Bishop Gorman and college basketball at Gonzaga. Collins was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

He made his debut for the Trail Blazers during their season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 16th, 2018 scoring 8 points off of 3 shots, 1 rebound and 1 block in 22 minutes of action. 

Injuries have hampered Collins' development over his first two seasons with Portland but he is looking to break out this year under new head coach Terry Stotts who has given him lots of playing time thus far into preseason play (10 games).

Collins was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. Collins played college basketball for Portland and San Antonio, where he has been a key player on both teams. 

Collins is an elite scorer and rebounder who will be a big addition to whichever team selects him. Collins has outstanding potential and looks like he could become one of the best players in the league soon

10. Corey Kispert

Corey Kispert is a small forward for the Washington Wizards. He was drafted 15th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the team. Corey played college basketball at Gonzaga, where he averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game over his three seasons with the Bulldogs.

In 2111214 Kispert won gold medal as member of United States national under-17 basketball team competing at FIBA U17 World Championship held in Prague, Czech Republic. 

On March 3, 1999, Corey was born in Edmonds, Washington to parents Sherry and Sergej Kispert who are both athletes themselves having competed in track and field events as well as triathlon competitions together before they got married; hence their son's love of sports which started early on.

Outside of playing basketball Corey enjoys spending time with friends and family – you can find him hitting up outdoor activities or just lounging around watching TV when he isn't busy preparing for another game.

Rui Hachimura was born on February 8, 1998 in Toyama, Japan. He played high school basketball at Meisei (Sendai) and Gonzaga before being drafted by the Washington Wizards in 2019.

Hachimura has started all but one game for the Wizards this season and is averaging 17 points per game. Rui Hachimura is a small forward who can score from anywhere on the court, making him a difficult player to defend.

Rui Hachimura is a Japanese professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted by the Wizards with the 38th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. 

In his rookie season, he averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 43% from three-point range en route to earning All-Rookie Second Team honors.

In 2019, Hachimura won both Julius Erving Award as college player of year as well as WCC Player of Year award making him only second player after Rick Majerus to win two awards in one season.

His individual performance at Final Four Japan national team helped them secure third place which qualified them for 2020 FIBA World Cup At age 20 Rui has already accomplished so much it's hard to imagine what he will do next.

Nembhard is a point guard for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. He was born on January 16, 2000, in Aurora, Ontario, Canada. At 6' 3" and 191 pounds, Nembhard is a tall and strong point guard.

Nembhard attended Vaughan Secondary School in Vaughan, Ontario, and then Montverde Academy in Florida. Nembhard played one season of college basketball for the Florida Gators, before being drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Nembhard is a skilled passer and scorer, and is looking to develop his game further in the NBA. Nembhard was selected 31st overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. Nembhard played college basketball for Gonzaga and was a two-time All-WCC selection.

Pangos was undrafted out of Gonzaga in the 2015 NBA Draft but signed with the Gran Canaria of the Spanish Liga ACB. Pangos averaged 10.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 36 games in his second season with Gran Canaria.

Pangos was acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade on July 20, 2021. Pangos made his Cavaliers debut on November 3, 2021, against the Brooklyn Nets and recorded 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 35 minutes. Pangos was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2021.

On July 20, 2022, Pangos was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team trade that also involved the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies. Pangos averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 67 games with Portland. 

On July 25, 2024, Pangos was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team trade that also involved the Detroit Pistons and the Orlando Magic.

Dickau was a standout point guard at Prairie High School in Brush Prairie, Washington. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2002 NBA Draft, but he never played in the league.

He later played for the Sacramento Kings, Milwaukee Bucks, and New Orleans Hornets. Dickau retired in 2010. He now works as a basketball coach. Dickau was a highly decorated player in his collegiate career at Gonzaga.

He was a two-time first-team All-WCC selection and a consensus first-team All-American. Dickau went on to play in the NBA for six seasons, including two with the Blazers. He is a two-time All-Star and was a key player on the Blazers’ 2004 championship team.

As a junior at Belleville West, Smith averaged 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. As a senior at Belleville East, Smith averaged 24.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

In his rookie season, Pargo averaged 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game. Pargo was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in February of 2014. In his second season with the 76ers, Pargo averaged 8.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game.

Pargo was traded to the CSKA Moscow in January of 2015. Pargo played in 57 games for CSKA Moscow in 2015-2016 and averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.

In 21 games for Nanjing, Pargo averaged 28.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Pargo was traded to the Santa Cruz Warriors in January of 2018. In 45 games for Santa Cruz, Pargo averaged 24.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. 

Pargo was traded to Champville SC in February of 2018. In 18 games for Champville, Pargo averaged 36.2 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. Pargo was traded to the Maccabi Tel Aviv in February of 2018.

Casey Calvary was born on April 27, 1979 in Würzburg, Germany. Calvary attended high school at Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma, Washington. He played college basketball at Gonzaga from 1997 to 2001.

Calvary was not drafted by an NBA team but signed with the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent in 2001. Calvary played for the Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Phoenix Suns over the course of his playing career.

He retired in 2007. Calvary is now a basketball coach at Bellarmine Preparatory School. He has two children. Casey Calvary's height is 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) and his weight is 230 pounds (104 kilograms). Casey Calvary was born in Boise, Idaho in 1984.

Calvary played college basketball at Boise State from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, Calvary was drafted by the Isuzu Giga Cats of the NBL. Calvary played for the Townsville Crocodiles from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, Calvary was drafted by the Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada Madrid of the Spanish League.

Matt Santangelo played point guard for the Iraklis Thessaloniki, Pallacanestro Cantù and the Portland Trail Blazers from 2000 to 2006. Santangelo averaged 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in his NBA career.

Santangelo was undrafted and signed with the Trail Blazers as a free agent in 2000. Santangelo started all 82 games for the Blazers during the 2000–01 season and was named to the 2001 All-Rookie Second Team. 

Santangelo was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2006 and played for them until the end of the 2006–07 season.

Santangelo then played for the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks before retiring in 2012. Santangelo is the president of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce in Portland. 

Santangelo resides in Portland with his wife, Joanne, and their two children. Matt Santangelo is currently an assistant coach for the Italian national team.

Kyle Wiltjer is a player for the Zhejiang Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association. He was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the 2016 NBA draft but did not play in the NBA.

Wiltjer played college basketball at Kentucky, where he averaged 14.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He has played for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the NCAA and was a First-Team All-American in 2016.

Austin Daye was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft. He played college basketball at Georgetown. Daye was traded to the Toronto Raptors in the 2014 NBA Draft. He was waived by the Raptors in October 2014.

Robert Sacre was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1989. He attended high school at Handsworth Secondary School in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He played college basketball at Gonzaga, where he was named to the All-WCC First Team in 2009.

He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2012 NBA draft, and played for the team from 2012 to 2019. He played center for the Lakers, but is now a free agent. Robert Sacre is a two-time All-Star and has won two NBA championships with the Lakers.

Richie Frahm was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Phoenix Eclipse, Houston Rockets, and Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. Frahm was born in Battle Ground, Washington, in 1977.

He attended high school at Battle Ground. Frahm played college basketball at Gonzaga. He was a two-time All-American and was drafted by the Phoenix Eclipse in the 2000 NBA draft but did not play in the league.

Frahm played for the Rockets and Timberwolves from 2001 to 2011. He was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010. Frahm has won two NBA championships with the Rockets and one with the Timberwolves. He is also a two-time All-Star.

Frahm retired from professional basketball in 2011. He currently works as a basketball commentator for ESPN. Frahm is married to actress and model Elle Fanning. They have two children. Frahm was born in 1977, so he is 45 years old as of September 2017.

He has also played in the NBA for the Miami Heat, Seattle SuperSonics, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Michaelson received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Oregon State in 2003. He and his wife, Brooke, have two children.

Michaelson is a big fan of the Portland Timbers. Michaelson attended Jesuit High School in Beaverton, Oregon. He played college basketball at Gonzaga and then briefly served as an administrator there before returning as an assistant coach in 2013.

Michaelson helped Gonzaga make the NCAA Tournament in both 2013 and 2014. He has also been an assistant coach at Portland State, Utah Valley, and Air Force. Michaelson is married and has two children. 

Michaelson is a native of Oregon. He is expected to retire from coaching after the 2016–2017 season.

Matt Bouldin played shooting guard for Gonzaga University from 2006-2010. He was undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft but signed with the Tulsa 66ers in 2011.

He then signed with the Iraklis Thessaloniki of the Greek League in 2011-12. In 2012, he signed with the Budućnost Podgorica of the Montenegrin Basketball League.

Bouldin then transferred to the Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli League in 2012-13. He then signed with the Houston Rockets in 2013-14, but was released before the season began.

Bouldin then signed with the Seoul Dynasty of the Korean Basketball League in 2014. He then signed with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2015-16 and was named the team's Sixth Man of the Year.

He then signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2016-17 and was named to the All-Star team.

Final Words

The Gonzaga Bulldogs Men’s Basketball team has been a powerhouse in the NCAA for over two decades, and they have produced some of the best players in college basketball history.
