51 Fifa U-20 World Cup Best Players of All Time

The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the premier football tournament for male players aged 20 and below, held by FIFA every two years. The tournament has been running since 1977, when it was originally known as the FIFA World Youth Championship.

Since then, many of the world’s greatest players have graced the tournament, including the likes of Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

With a new installment coming up soon, many of the world’s up and coming stars will have the chance to prove themselves on the world stage and become the next generation of footballing greats.

Timothy Weah was born on February 22, 2000 in Brooklyn, New York. He is currently a forward for Lille and has played with them since the 2018-2019 season.

Timothy Weah made his professional debut with West Pines United in 2010 at the age of 16 and went on to play for Blau Weiss Gottschee from 2013 until 2018.

Timothy Weah represented the United States at youth level, including appearances at both U20 World Cups (2017 & 2021) as well as Copa America (2016). 

The Forward has recently been called up to represent Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will be hoping to help them reach their first ever final appearance in the tournament.

Timothy Weah was born on November 10, 1997 in the United States. Timothy first came to attention when he scored an incredible goal for PSG against Marseille in Ligue 1 at the age of 17 years old. 

Timothy has since gone on to make appearances for the United States U17 and U20 teams as well as appearing for PSG's B team. 

Timothy is currently a member of Celtic FC on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and is looking to help his new club secure promotion back to France’s top flight this season.

Alphonse Areola is a French goalkeeper who currently plays for West Ham United. Alphonse Areola made his debut for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 and has since played 75 games for the club.

Alphonse Areola is 1.95 meters tall and has been capped by France at the youth level. In December 2018, it was announced that Alphonso would be out of action for six months after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury he sustained earlier in the season.

With West Ham struggling this season, many fans have called on manager Manuel Pellegrini to give younger players a chance but so far there's been no sign of that happening with Areola still playing regularly. 

The jury is still out on whether or not Alpheus will ever be considered one of the best goalkeepers in world football but he has already achieved success with PSG where they have won multiple Ligue 1 titles. 

Champions League appearances including being runners-up last year to Liverpool If rumors are true then PSG could sell him this summer as they prepare to build their squad around Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr which may mean less playing time for Alpheus next season.

Paxten Aaronson is an attacking midfielder and winger who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. Born in 2003, Aaronson has spent his entire career to date with the American club Eintracht Frankfurt, making his competitive debut at the age of 16.

He has represented the United States at various youth levels and was part of their U-20 squad that competed in Austria's qualification campaign for UEFA Euro 2016 this summer. 

Known as a quick and skilful player, Aaronson is capable of playing on either flank or up front, both inside and outside of the penalty area.

With five goals and six assists from 36 appearances across all competitions so far in 2017/18, he firmly established himself as one of Eintracht's key players this season - providing valuable assistance to top scorer Ante Rebic as they secured Bundesliga survival with three matches remaining.

As well as representing Germany internationally at under-19 level, where he scored two goals in four appearances during 2016/17 (including one against England).

Aaronson also played for Team USA at last year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup taking home silverware after losing out to Chile 1–0 in the final.

Cifuentes was born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador on March 12th 1999. He joined Universidad Católica aged just 16 and made his debut for the club in 2016. Cifuentes spent two seasons with Universidad Católica before joining América de Quito on loan in 2017.

Los Angeles FC signed Cifuentes as a Designated Player ahead of the 2019 season. Jose has represented Ecuador at youth levels, making his full international debut in 2018 against Chile Jose Cifuentes was born on July 2nd, 1997 in the city of Guayaquil in Ecuador.

Jose started playing football at a young age and quickly became one of the best players in his region. 

In 2018, he signed with Los Angeles FC after impressing during their Academy trials. He made his professional debut for LAFC against Orlando City SC on March 17th, 2019 and impressed throughout the match, scoring an important goal in a 3-1 victory..

Jonathan Mensah is a Ghanaian defender who currently plays for Columbus Crew in MLS. Jonathan started his career with AshantiGold before moving to Free State Stars and then Udinese in Italy.

After returning to Ghana, Jonathan signed with Columbus Crew and has since made over 100 appearances for the club. Jonathan is an important part of the defence at Columbus and has been praised for his ability on the ball as well as in defending set pieces.

In January 2019, it was announced thatJonathan would be out 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee.

He began his career at Dutch side Ajax before joining French club Marseille in 2013. Mensah then moved to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in 2015, where he made over 100 appearances and won two FA Cups. 

In January 2017, he joined Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala on a three-and-a-half year deal worth £15 million ($21 million). Mensah has featured for the Ghana national team since 2009, earning over 70 caps and scoring nine goals during that time.

At the age of just 25 years old, Jonathan Mensah is already one of the most decorated players in world football.
