The UEFA European Football Championship, commonly known as the European Championship or Euro, is an annual competition held between the senior men’s teams of the members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

It is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world, and has been contested since 1960. The tournament consists of a group stage and a knockout stage, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the knockout stage.

The winner of the tournament is crowned the European Champion and qualifies for the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest football players in history. He started his career at Sporting CP and went on to play for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Robert Lewandowski is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Barcelona. He began his career with Delta Warsaw, before joining Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2005.

In 2010, he signed for Bayern Munich and helped the team clinch the Bundesliga title that season. After one year at Madrid-based Real Madrid, Lewandowski rejoined Bayern Munich on a long-term deal in 2013.

Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Italian club Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea. Lukaku started his career at Rupel Boom, before moving to KFC Wintam in 2004.

Michel Platini is a retired French football player and manager. He served as the sixth president of UEFA from 2007 to 2015, during which time he led the organisation into two bidding wars for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, both of which were won by Russia.

Alan Shearer is a football pundit and former footballer. He played for Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday in the English Premier League.

In 2002–03 he was named Footballer of the Year by The Times after scoring 30 goals in 38 appearances for Southampton. 

On 11 May 2008, Shearer announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 36 due to injury problems sustained during that season with Manchester United (he had joined them on loan from Newcastle).

In 2011 Alan became a part-owner of Championship side Blackpool FC where he made occasional guest appearances as a coach or player until its demise at the end of 2016–17 season.

This follows years playing for non-league Northwich Victoria and Fleetwood Town during their initial seasons in League Two before finally retiring full-time aged 43 due to health concerns caused by his battle against Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Since then Alan has been working as an ambassador for the international MS charity Walk Now.

Van Basten is a Dutch footballer who played as a striker for Ajax and AC Milan. He was once voted the best European player of all time by French magazine L'Equipe, and he also won four Ballon d'Or Awards.

After leaving Milan in 1995, Van Basten spent two seasons with Paris Saint-Germain before retiring from professional football at the age of 37. 

In 2006, Van Basten became manager of Ajax, but was fired after just six months in charge due to poor results.

Kluivert is a former Dutch international and Barcelona forward who spent most of his career at Ajax. After leaving Ajax, Kluivert moved to AC Milan before joining Barcelona in 1998.

He won three La Liga titles with Barça, as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2006 and 2007. In January 2007, Kluivert transferred to Valencia for €10 million but he was released by the club later that year after just 16 appearances.

Ezgjan Alioski is a Macedonian professional footballer who plays for Turkish club Fenerbahçe on loan from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli. Ezgjan has played in the Serbian SuperLiga and Danish Superliga, as well as representing Macedonia at U21 level.

Born in Prilep, Macedonia, Ezgjan joined Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade in January 2014 after impressing during a three-week trial period.

Michael Ballack is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City and the Germany national team. Ballack began his career with BSG Motor "Fritz Heckert" Karl-Marx-Stadt, before joining Bundesliga club.
