His 2016 campaign was cut short due to Tommy John surgery but he still managed to post decent numbers: 14 starts (13 complete games) yielding a 3-6 mark with a 3.27 ERA while striking out 131 batters against just 43 walks on average across 132 1/3 innings pitched (.898 WHIP). Paul as he's currently pitching for Double A Arkansas.

Where he leads all minor league pitchers in fWAR (7 wins above replacement) though it should be noted that there are only 36 active MLB starters who have compiled at least 7 wins above replacement through their first 116 appearances.

Some people might question how much value you get when comparing stats between levels within baseball leagues.

But I find it endlessly fascinating nonetheless because every level provides unique challenges which players need to overcome if they want success long-term and so far Skenes seems up for the task.

46. Dylan Crews

Dylan Crews is an outfielder for the LSU Tigers. He was a freshman in 2016 and hit .333 with two home runs and 10 RBI. As a sophomore, he led the SEC in hitting (.389) while also ranking third on the team with 12 doubles and fourth with 41 hits.

Dylan Crews has been selected to play in both the 2017 All-American Game and 2018 College World Series.

In 39 games this season, he's batting .393/.468/.895 with six home runs and 30 RBI.

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dylan Crews attended Branard High School before enrolling at LSU where he played for the Tiger baseball team from 2014-2016 under coach Paul Mainieri Dylan Crews is a right-handed pitcher for the Altamonte Springs, Florida Rockies.

He has been playing baseball since he was three years old and quickly developed into one of the top pitchers in his league. Dylan Crews was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Draft after impressing scouts with his strong pitching skills.

Dylan Crews spent two seasons with Short Season Tri-City before being promoted to Low A Asheville in 2018 where he posted an impressive 2.93 ERA and 129 strikeouts over 119 innings pitched.

In 2019, Dylan Crews was called up to High A Modesto where he continued to impress with dominating performances, recording a 0 ERA and striking out 39 batters over 31 innings pitched while also posting a 3 win streak at one point during the season.

The 2020 season looks set to be even better for Dylan Crews as he has already recorded 9 strikeouts in just 5 1/3 innings pitched so far this year.

47. Chase Dollander

Career

  • SEC Pitcher of the Year (2022)

Chase Dollander is a 21-year-old pitcher for the Tennessee Volunteers. He has yet to play in a major league game, but scouts believe he has the potential to develop into an elite pitcher.

Chase attended Evans High School in Georgia and played college baseball at the University of Tennessee. In his freshman year, he was named SEC Pitcher of the Year after posting a 3.06 ERA with 155 strikeouts in 109 innings pitched.

As a sophomore, Chase posted an even better stat line: 2nd team All American, 1st team SEC; led UT with 153 strikeouts while finishing second on the team with 179 hits allowed; also finished 4th in voting for MVP award (behind teammate Josh Hader).

In 2018 as a junior, Chase had another solid season statistically (1stteam All American selection by Baseball America), although it ended prematurely due to injury – he missed most of May and June due to inflammation in his pitching arm and then underwent Tommy John surgery later that month.

After recovering from surgery, Chase returned to pitch for UT's bullpen during their College World Series run where he helped lead them all the way to victory against LSU – becoming only the third player ever (and first since 1983) to win two CWS titles.

Chase is considered one of college baseball's top prospects heading into 2019 and will likely be drafted early next year if he chooses notto enterthe MLB draft following graduation.

48. Thomas Harrington

Thomas Harrington is a young pitcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He has shown great potential in his short career thusfar and scouts believe that he has the ability to be a top-tier starter.

Harrington was drafted out of high school by the Pirates in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft, and he made his professional debut late last year with their rookie affiliate, Short Season Jamestown Splitsters.

Harrington has since been promoted to Low Class A West Virginia Power and performed well there, posting an adjusted ERA+ of 126 over 112 innings pitched between both levels.

Harrington's repertoire includes a fastball which can reach speeds up to 97 mph as well as an effective slider and changeup mix which give him multiple options for attacking hitters.

The 21-year old is still developing physically but scouts believe that with continued refinement – including better control – he could eventually become one of the game's elite pitchers.

49. Jacob Gonzalez

Jacob Gonzalez is a shortstop for the Ole Miss Rebels. He has played in 121 games and had a .291 batting average as of May 9th. Jacob was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 4th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, but did not sign with them.

In 2016, he transferred to Ole Miss and has since become one of their most consistent players offensively, hitting over .300 each season through his four years at Ole Miss thus far.

Jacob also throws out base runners frequently, having thrown out 66% of potential basestealers during his career so far which includes 38 this year alone.

His work ethic both on and off the field earned him Second Team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2017 and 2018 respectively, making him one of only two Rebel players to earn that distinction (the other being pitcher Austin Voth).

Jacob's future remains unclear; however he will graduate from college next spring without any professional baseball experience under his belt, meaning he'll have to decide whether or not to turn professional soon after graduation.

if he wants any chance at an extended major league career down the line or someone can always give him some tips on how to get started.

Final Words

There are many great college baseball players who have left their mark on the sport. These players have helped to make it the popular and well-known sport that it is today.

Some of these best players include Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Nolan Ryan, and Hank Aaron. They all possess skills that set them apart from other athletes and have contributed greatly to the popularity of college baseball.
