The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) is the top-tier professional men’s basketball league in China. Founded in 1995, it is made up of 20 teams across the country and is widely regarded as one of the most competitive and exciting leagues in Asia.

Its games draw huge crowds, and some of the most iconic stars in Chinese basketball have made their names in the CBA. The CBA season runs from October to April, culminating in the championship series.

With an ever-growing following, the CBA is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports leagues in the world.

Stephon Marbury is a former NBA player who was most notably with the Milwaukee Bucks. He had a successful playing career, averaging 23.1 points and 5.7 assists per game in his 14-year career.

After leaving the NBA, he has been coaching in China where he has led the Beijing Royal Fighters to two CBA championships (2013, 2017).

Stephon Marbury was born on February 20th, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York and attended Abraham Lincoln High School before going onto play college basketball at Georgia Tech University where he won three NCAA Championships (1996–1998).

In 1996, the then- Milwaukee Bucks drafted him 4th overall and he went on to have a hugely successful professional playing career with them from 1996 until 2018.

When they traded him to Boston Celtics for Kyrie Irving Stephon Marbury is a three-time NBA All-Star and two-time Third Team All-NBA player. He played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets, Phoenix Suns, and the Knicks before coaching in China with Beijing Royal Fighters from 2019 to present.

Stephon Marbury’s career was highly decorated as he won 2x NBA All Star Game MVP Awards, as well as being an AP third team all american and a NJNets second team all american selection during his playing days in America.

Michael Beasley is an American power forward and small forward who has played in the NBA since 2008. He was drafted by the Miami Heat with the 2nd overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft and spent four seasons with them before moving to Minnesota Timberwolves in 2013.

In 2016 he joined the Memphis Grizzlies but was traded to Brooklyn Nets two years later. He announced his retirement from professional basketball on October 10th, 2018 after spending one final season with the Atlanta Hawks.

Michael Beasley was one of the most high-profile players in the NBA during his time on the court.

He had a very successful career, winning numerous awards and accolades along the way. Michael Beasley is remembered for his powerful dunks and alley-oops, as well as his long shooting range from beyond the arc. 

Michael Beasley's off-court troubles have often overshadowed what was otherwise an accomplished basketball career. However, he has since cleaned up his act and moved on to a new team in 2019.

Yao Ming was born in Shanghai, China on September 12th, 1980. He began playing basketball at the age of six and quickly became a standout player. In 2001, Yao won the FIBA World Championship with China and he also won two Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008).

After his retirement from professional basketball in 2011, Yao became the sixth president of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He has been a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference since 2013 and is currently Chairman Yu Zhengsheng's deputy secretary general.

Yao Ming is a basketball legend who was one of the best players in NBA history. He won multiple awards and accolades, including an 8x All-Star selection and 2x All-NBA Second Team honors. 

Yao became a household name after his standout performance at the 2002 NBA draft where he was chosen first overall by the Houston Rockets.

His playing career spanned from 1997 to 2011 and saw him win several trophies along the way, including an MVP award in 2009. 

Now retired from professional basketball, Yao remains involved with various charities and continues to support young athletes through his work as an administrator for basketball training academies across China.

Hamed Haddadi is an Iranian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Hamed was born in 1985 and played his first professional basketball game in 1999 with Shahin Ahvaz.

In 2002, he transferred to Paykan Tehran where he spent six seasons before joining Al-Nasr in 2009. He has appeared in over 650 games across all competitions, averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds per game. 

Haddadi represented Iran at both the 2004 FIBA World Championship and 2012 Summer Olympics, where he averaged 7 points and 3 rebounds per game respectively.

Hamed Haddadi is a professional Iranian basketball player who currently plays for the Sichuan Blue Whales in China. He has played for various teams in Iran and abroad, most notably with Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns. 

In 2016 he won the CBA title with his team, the Sichuan Blue Whales. He was also named to the All-Star Team that year, as well as being voted MVP of the playoffs after leading his team to victory over rivals Shanghai Sharks in an exciting seven game series final stage match up.

Yi Jianlian is a Chinese basketball player who has played in the NBA since 2007. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 6th overall pick in 2007 and has since played for them, as well as other teams including Guangdong Southern Tigers and Beijing Ducks.

Yi's height of 7 ft 0 in (2.13 m) makes him one of China's tallest athletes and he plays center or power forward for his team depending on the game situation. Jianlian is known for his strong rebounding ability, which helps contribute to his team's success on both offense and defense; this also earned him an All-Star selection in 2010.

His stellar play led to several lucrative contracts offers from overseas clubs, but he eventually decided to stay with Milwaukee until they traded him during the 2013–14 season onwards..

 Jianlian is a 6'11" center who was drafted in the first round by the New Jersey Nets in 2008. He spent four seasons with the Nets before being traded to Washington Wizards in 2011.

Jianlian had his best season with Dallas Mavericks in 2012-13 where he averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. After two years with Guangdong Southern Tigers, Jianlian joined Texas Legends for the 2018-19 season and has since continued playing there.

Jared Sullinger attended Northland High School in Columbus, Ohio. He played college basketball for Ohio State and was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2012.

In his NBA career, he has played for the Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers. Sullinger is known for his rebounding ability and scoring average of 10 points per game.

He announced his retirement from professional basketball in March 2019 following a season-ending injury suffered during the playoffs with the Cavs Jared Sullinger was a two-time consensus first-team All-American and an all-conference selection as a freshman at Ohio State.

He left college early to enter the 2007 NBA draft, but was not selected. Sullinger spent three seasons with the Boston Celtics, appearing in 71 games and averaging 8.5 points and 5 rebounds per game before being traded to Phoenix in 2012.

Jimmer Fredette was born on February 25, 1989 in Glens Falls, New York. He attended Brigham Young University where he played point guard for the Cougars from 2007 to 2011.

Fredette was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and spent four seasons with Sacramento before joining Chicago as a free agent in 2014.

Askia Booker was born on August 31, 1993 in Inglewood, California. Askia played high school basketball at Price (Los Angeles, California). During his freshman season at Colorado Buffaloes he averaged 7.8 points and 3 assists per game en route to being named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.

In his sophomore year with Colorado Buffaloes he averaged 18 points and 5 assists per game helping lead them to a National Championship appearance against Kentucky Wildcats in the 2015 NCAA Tournament where they lost 76-64 in overtime after leading by as many as 24 points early in regulation time.

He declared for the 2016 NBA draft but withdrew before it took place citing concerns about playing overseas if selected instead which ultimately led him signing with Shenzhen Leopards of China's professional Basketball Association (CBA).

Shortly thereafter where he has since made an immediate impact averaging over 20 PPG while also providing 6 rebounds and 4 assists per contest thus far this season - placing him fifth overall on their all-time list for most single-season scoring average by a US player abroad according to RealGM stats portal.

Booker is one of just five players ever from Division I college basketball who have signed with a Chinese team following their collegiate career, joining fellow Americans Ersan Ilyasova (Hapoel Tel Aviv), DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) and Jabari Parker(Milwaukee Bucks).

Wang Zhelin is a Chinese center who was drafted 57th overall in the 2016 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. Wang has spent most of his career with Fujian Sturgeons, appearing in over 200 games and averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game.

He made an appearance in the 2017 CBA Playoffs for Shanghai Sharks, but they were eliminated early on without making it to the finals. In 2018, he joined Guangdong Southern Tigers for the rest of the season after being traded from Fujian Sturgeons earlier that year.

Wang is a versatile player who can play both inside and out on offense, as well as defending multiple positions on defense if needed; this makes him valuable to any team he joins next season or beyond Wang Zhelin was born on January 1, 1991 in Changsha, Hunan province.

He is a Chinese professional basketball player who last played for the Shanghai Sharks of the China Basketball Association (CBA). Wang started playing basketball at an early age and quickly became one of the country's best young players. 

In 2013 he won CBA Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 16 points per game for Shanghai during the season.

Wang has been an integral part of China's national team over the past few years and helped them reach their first ever FIBA Asia Championship in 2015 as well as winning a bronze medal at both the Asian Games in 2018 and 2019. 

Although his time with Shanghai this season has been cut short due to injury, Wang is still considered one of China's top players and will no doubt be looking to continue his success with another club next year.

Guo Ailun is a Chinese professional basketball player who currently plays for the Liaoning Flying Leopards in the Chinese Basketball Association. Guo Ailun was born on November 14, 1993 in Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, China.

Guo played college ball at Sichuan University and then transferred to Shenzhen Universitiy during the 2013-14 season before finally joining the Liaoning Flying Leopards during the 2014-15 season. In his rookie year with Liaoning, Guo led all CBA point guards in assists (8.1 per game) and steals (1.5 per game).

As of January 2019, he has averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game over 118 games played throughout his career with Liaoning and Shanghai Sharks respectively.

Guo Ailun is a professional basketball player who has played for Liaoning Flying Leopards since 2010. Guo Ailun has won two CBA championships with the team and represented China at the FIBA Asia Championship in 2015.

He also was named to the All-Star team eight times during his career. Guo Ailun's strengths lie on his shooting ability, which he uses to create shots for himself or others off of pick and rolls or spot up opportunities from outside the arc. 

Although he may not be as flashy as some of his teammates, Guo Ailun is an effective all-around player who can do it all on the court - something that makes him difficult to guard for opposing teams.

Blakeney played two seasons with the Hawks before being traded to the Indiana Pacers in February of 2017. Blakeney spent the 2017-2018 season with the Indiana Pacers' G-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. 

In the 2018-2019 season, Blakeney was named the NBA G League Rookie of the Year. Blakeney was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in February of 2020.

Maker is a Sudanese-born center and power forward who was drafted 10th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2016 NBA draft.
