Joe Scally is a right-back who has played for Borussia Mönchengladbach since 2016. He was born in New York and started playing football at the age of six.

Marco Reus is a German attacking midfielder who has played for Borussia Dortmund since 2006. 

He started his career at Post SV Dortmund and then moved to Borussia Dortmund in 1996, where he has made over 230 appearances and won three Bundesliga titles, as well as the DFB-Pokal twice.

Julian Weigl is a German defensive midfielder who currently plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan from Benfica. He started his career at SV Ostermünchen before moving to Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2015.

In total, Weigl has made 138 appearances for Gladbach, scoring six goals and providing ten assists. On international duty, he has represented Germany at under-17, under-19, and senior levels.

Hazard is a Belgian international footballer who plays for Borussia Dortmund. Hazard was born in La Louvière, Belgium in 1993 and started his career with Royal Stade Brainois before joining A.F.C Tubize in 2007.

Breel Embolo is a forward who has played for Monaco since 2018. He was born in Cameroon and started his career with Nordstern in 2006. In 2008, he moved to Germany to play for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Marcus Thuram is a French-born Italian footballer who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach. He began his career at Olympique de Neuilly, before moving to Boulogne-Billancourt and then Sochaux in 2010.

In 2014, he joined Guingamp on a two-year deal and made 64 appearances in all competitions over the course of that time. 

Thuram has represented France at the under-21 level and won the 2013 Under 21 European Championship Golden Boot award with five goals in six matches played during the tournament; he also helped Les Bleus win silver medals at the 2016 Olympic Games.

On 16 January 2019, it was announced that Thuram had signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Serie A side Hellas Verona.

Ulrich Borowka is a defender who has played for Borussia M'gladbach since 1980. He won the Bundesliga title with his former club in 1987 and made 149 appearances during his time at the club.

Yann Sommer is a Swiss goalkeeper who has played for Basel and Borussia Monchengladbach. Yann Sommer was born in 1988 and started playing football at the age of six with FC Herrliberg.

Jupp Heynckes is a German former footballer who played as a forward for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hannover 96. He later served as manager of Bayern Munich, and led the club to three consecutive Bundesliga titles.

Heynckes was born in Mönchengladbach in 1945 and started playing football with local side Grün-Weiß Holt. After making his debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1963, he went on to win two Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal with the club.

Heynckes made his international debut for West Germany in 1966 and went on to earn over 50 caps, scoring one goal. He retired from international football in 1990. 

Heynckes took over as manager of Hannover 96 in 1970 and led the club to the Bundesliga title in his first season.

He then moved to Bayern Munich in 1978 and led the club to three consecutive Bundesliga titles. Heynckes was appointed manager of Bayern Munich in 1987 and led the club to their first Champions League title in 1996. 

He retired from management in 2006. Heynckes was named the FIFA World Coach of the Year in 1998 and the German Footballer of the Year in 1998 and 2007.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011, but recovered and was later appointed president of the German Football Association (DFB). 

Heynckes was given a standing ovation by Bayern Munich fans after his retirement as manager in 2006. Heynckes was inducted into the German Football Hall of Fame in 2007. He died on 9 May 2018, aged 77.

Günter Netzer was a versatile attacking midfielder who played for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Real Madrid in the 1970s. Netzer was born in Mönchengladbach in 1944 and started his career with 1.

FC Mönchengladbach in the early 1950s. He joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1963 and played for the club until 1973. 

Netzer then moved to Real Madrid and played for the club from 1973 to 1976. He returned to Germany and played for Grasshopper Club Zürich from 1976 to 1977.

Netzer was part of the West German team that won the World Cup in 1974. He retired from playing in 1977 and later served as manager of 1. FC Köln. 

Netzer was elected president of the German Football Association (DFB) in 2011. Netzer died on 14 September 2016 at the age of 78 after a long illness.

Günter Netzer was one of the most decorated football players of all time, winning several awards including three World Cups and two European Championships. 

Günter Netzer was born in what is now the Czech Republic in 1965, and he started his career playing for his local side Karlovy Vary. In 1977, he moved to Hamburger SV, where he spent the next thirteen years as a player, before becoming their general manager in 1985.

Netzer retired from professional football in 1995, but continued to work in management, most notably with German side Werder Bremen.

Juan Arango was born on 16 May 1980 in Maracay, Venezuela. He started his football career with Universidad Católica de Venezuela in 1996. Arango moved to Nueva Cadiz in 1999 and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club.

Bonhof was born in 1952 in Emmerich am Rhein, West Germany. He started his career with SuS Emmerich in 1963 and played for them until 1970. He then played for Valencia for two seasons before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1978.

Hans-Hubert Vogts spent his youth playing for VfR Büttgen. Vogts made his debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1965 and spent 19 seasons with the club.

He was part of the team that won the Bundesliga title in 1978. Vogts represented West Germany at international level from 1967 to 1978. He played 96 matches and scored one goal.

Hans-Günter Bruns was born on 15 November 1954 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, West Germany. Bruns started his career at Schalke 04 and played for the club from 1971-1973.

Michael Frontzeck began his playing career at SpVgg Odenkirchen in 1971. In 1979, he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach where he would play 190 games over the next six years.

Raffael is an attacking midfielder who has played for several top clubs around Europe including Juventus, Chiasso, FC Zürich, Hertha BSC, Dynamo Kyiv and Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has scored over 50 goals in his career and is known for his dribbling and passing ability.

Stefan Effenberg was born on August 2nd, 1968 in Hamburg, West Germany. He started his footballing career playing for Bramfelder SV in 1974. In 1986, he moved to Victoria Hamburg before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1987.

He enjoyed a very successful career at Borussia Mönchengladbach, playing 65 games and scoring 19 goals over the course of three seasons. 

He then moved to Bayern Munich in 1992 and enjoyed another successful spell, playing 95 games and scoring 16 goals.

He left Bayern Munich in 1998 and signed for Borussia Mönchengladbach once again. He retired from football in 2002 after playing 118 games and scoring 23 goals for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Horst Köppel is a retired German professional footballer who played as a striker. He began his career at SpVgg Neuwirtshaus, before joining FV Zuffenhausen in 1964.

Köppel spent most of his career at Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he won two Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Cup. He spent one season with Vancouver Whitecaps in the North American Soccer League.

Köppel made his international debut in 1968 and played at the 1978 World Cup. He retired in 1981 after winning two more Bundesliga titles with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Köppel was inducted into the German Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
