The 2019-20 NHL season was one of the most anticipated in recent memory. After a thrilling 2018-19 season that saw the St. Louis Blues win the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history, fans were looking forward to another exciting season of hockey.
With teams making moves in the offseason to improve their rosters, the season looked to be filled with exciting storylines. Unfortunately, the season was suspended indefinitely on March 12, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving many fans without the closure they were hoping for.
Despite the abrupt end to the season, the 2019-20 NHL season was an exciting one and will be remembered for its thrilling moments.

8. David Pastrňák

David Pastrňák was born on May 25th, 1996 in Havířov, Czech Republic.
At just 6'1", David is one of the smallest players in the NHL and his size has often been a disadvantage against bigger opposition.

David Pastrňák has played for the Czech Republic at both junior and senior levels, including a gold medal victory at the World Junior Championships in 2013. David Pastrňák is primarily a right-wing, but he can also play center or left-wing if needed.
David Pastrňák scored his first professional goal on October 25th, 2014 against Montreal Canadiens goaltender Dustin Tokarski.
Injuries have been an issue for David Pastrňák throughout his career; however, he has bounced back each time to play again later that season or even further down the line.
It is expected that David Pastrnaek will be playing with the Bruins full-time starting next season after impressing during his rookie campaign last year.

Artemi Panarin is a talented left wing who has been playing in the NHL since 2016. In his first three seasons, he was an integral part of the Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup-winning team.
He then signed with the New York Rangers in 2021 and helped them reach the playoffs that year. However, they were unable to win any games and eventually lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round.
In 2022-23, Panarin struggled for ice time with New York as injuries started piling up for him and he spent most of his time on their AHL affiliate team instead of with the Rangers themselves.
Panarin was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
